I just want to thank you both for always posting. It truly makes my day. I came home today from work very tired, hungry and ready to be done with the day. With a heating pad on my back I opened my laptop and there YOU ARE! Thank you so very much! Cold, snowy and tired in Montana US
Your channel is an antidote to the horrors of the world. Much appreciated. Kat looks cosy and scrumptious in her winter garb. Your squeals and giggles are so endearing.
Yes, I love the old episodes of the Caboodlers trip up to lark with the Northern Mudlarks. They did a great job of showing their journey and when they were saying goodbye, I was hoping it would never end. It's too bad they are so far apart because they made a great collaboration .
Kate and Fleur, thank you so very much for including all of us on this trip! You two are the best muckraking channel and the only one that I'm a Patron of. Your videos are the most fun, the most relaxing, the most creative and the most informative. I just adore both of your channels and wanted to express my deep gratitude to the two of you for everything you do! Thank you so, so much!
Some really lovely finds on this day after the rain. I suppose you could say the rain helped find hidden things. Some of those little bottles are amazing and what a lot of black beads!! Heart bead is unusual too. Some good sitings there girls. Love to all of you.
It's different in the US as Robin's here come back in the Spring. When you see the first Robin in late March or April, you always feel delighted and usually tell someone of your discovery because it brings hope for the end of snow, (dirty by then 😢) and warmer, sunny weather ❤! It was nice to hear of your history/ tradition in England 🇬🇧. Thank you for sharing 😀!
sherd story's are so interesting and I really appreciate how you keeping history of people before us alive...plus, you two are so much fun to watch, so genuine, kind...so easy to love you🥰🥰
The last piece of lined slate that Fleur found (kind of rectangular) could be ground to remove the bottom part and then "framed" w/wood pieces to make a blackboard for either the playroom or a school if you ever decide to have a dolls Schoolhouse 😊!
Lovely. Thank you for sharing your posts. You are both the antidote to cynicism & less than perfect days. Human sponges soaking up enjoyment. Finding joy in the small stuff. Perspective. Thank you. Take care, Sall 😊
I so love to watch you. The calm music in the background is lovely. I would love to see you keep all the pieces of pottery and make mosaics or have a giveaway. I’m waiting for our town to let the water out from the dam in the spring so I can go looking. I found a white Scotty dog last year.
You two are my most favorite channel, I could watch all day. The moments I feel extreme excitement with you both when you find something to darling (extra tiny bottles) I feel like I’m there ☺️ wheelchairs can’t tread mud but I’m glad I can feel included with you both!
It’s such a joy to watch you find things that were thrown away 100 years ago!! Do you think the people that did throw them away would think you were crazy getting excited over their rubbish?? I know I get excited almost as much as you!! I’m in love with the tiny bottles!! But then I pretty much love everything!! Good job girls!!! You should go more often after a good hard rain!! So much to find!! Take care!! ❤️❤️
For your new viewers, my late father used to say to us x5 sisters and a brother , " when in town keep your window down, meaning to look around all the time as you don't know what is under your feet
Can't thank you both enough for the entertainment that you both bring to me in the comfort of my livingroom. I wish that I could find a place such as yours to go mudlarking. ❤love to you both from Waterford, PA, USA
The piece of pipe Kate found, the one with the Mason’s mark on it, looked to me like it would work for turning into a drain spout from the gutter of a dollhouse. Thanks for another lovely video!
Love the little bottles! The sherd story was great. When I have heard this rhyme, it always brought to mind fallen soldiers, then all the people who help lay them to rest. So many of early fables, fairy tales, and rhymes were grim and sad, as that was their every day existence, unfortunately. Thank you for sharing the tiny, beautiful, and thought-provoking items from the past!! Love your channel!!🥰🥰🥰
Random idea I just had: You could take a squirt bottle of some kind (particularly to the muddy places like this) and just kinda squirt down the area you want to look at to remove the gunk and reveal more colors and you could just refill with water from the sea!
The burned Doll's head (and shoulders) could be painted 🎨 using a glazed white paint, like porcelain and redo the eyes, lips etc and she'd look good as original 😊! Well done!
What fun finds! And thanks for the sherd story - I had never heard that one either. Here in the northern US, the robin is the first sign of spring. It’s too cold here for them in winter. (Yes, I know that the American robin isn’t really a robin, but it’s the closest thing to one that they saw here, so it is one to us. 😉) As to familiarity with death, sorry if I’m repeating this. My dad was born in 1929, his folks were born in the late 1800’s and his grandparents were born in what is now Slovakia in the mid 1800’s. Even when he had lost many of his memories, he still clearly remembered when his grandfather died in 1932, when he was just 3. I don’t know whether they were following earlier traditions, but his grandfather was laid out in the living room (in his coffin) for at least one day. Dad said that he kept sneaking back into the living room when nobody was there to climb on a chair to look in, and see whether his grandfather was still dead, or if he’d woken up. My mom (similar timeline but with family from Scandinavia) remembered when her mom went to help a cousin who was giving birth at home. They left the kids in the kitchen, where they were told to stay and not bother anyone. She said that in the countryside, you couldn’t just call for a babysitter, so you brought your kids along. After some time, one of the women came down and put a shoebox on the kitchen counter, and told the kids to leave it alone. So of course as soon as the adult left, they pulled out a chair to look. Inside, wrapped in a lovely cloth was a tiny baby (presumably premature). A while later the same relative came down with another shoebox - stillborn twins. Mom marveled at how perfect the tiny babies were, and how they looked like they were going to wake up in a moment. She said she supposed she wasn’t scared because the adults weren’t.
Hello from Central Florida 👋 I had taught all my now adult children Don't feel bad if the groundhog spells more winter in February, when the robins are in mass on your front lawn, it's as good as spring is here. A story I heard of, is the robin got it's red breast from sitting on the shoulder of Christ and blood dropped upon it from the crown of thorns. ❣️ Giving spring and Easter a connection.
Love you show your joyful faces of excitement make me cry happy. I thought I saw something about buying goodie bags but I wasn't sure. I do so wish I knew where to Get a frozen Charlotte of my own. Can you buy them. Ilove the little bottles in colors and heads you find I am 78 years old and only found your channel a short time ago. How beautiful you both are and so sweet
Almost forgot to thank you for all your hard work over this year in all kinds of crazy weather, just wanted to let you know that you are loved by your subscribers for just being your magnificent selves. Have a wonderful Christmas and a luck in mud new year.
In the USA in the 1890's to 1930's. There was a carnival price with a bamboo cane. We called them swagger sticks. They had all kinds of different heads. I have a French Bulldog. The grey hound head could be one of these.
You found so many more round black beads/buttons that I couldn't help but think an old time woman's button up boot was discarded or lost around that beach. I wonder why you don't find more shoe buttons...any one guess? Were lace up boots always the English preference? Thank you for another FUN video!❤
Wonderful finds! wow such tiny bottles! I would say your ceramic dog head is part of a letter opener, that would be my guess. It is amazing if you go over the words of children's rhymes a d stories how, horrific some really are. Rock a bye baby, Hansel and Gretel, so many more, meant to teach or be a warning I believe.
What a great (and very sad) sherd story! It is amazing how so many early nursery rhymes and stories were very dark. Ring Around the Rosie? Would give me nightmares if I understood them. Thank you for the video. Really fun to watch. ❤️ from Michigan, USA
Thank you so much for this new mudlarking journey. Every time I wait for a new video and it makes my day. The sherd story is a little bit said for me , because I love this little bird in my garden so much. So the keltic interpretation is my favourite and not so cruel as the other Christmas verses. But 🙏thanks for all this historical research
Lovely as always. Thank you thank you thank you for your posts. I love them. Your robins are certainly more beautiful than the ones we have here in Washington State!
u both found some really special pieces of history. i too guessed the dog's head might be a pencil topper (for children). maybe like a cracker jack type give-away? the broken doll's head is so beautiful.i need to see if sm. reproduction Victorian dolls are made. i need a family for my Victorian doll's house.
Well ladies you found some very interesting things that dogs head is quite cool and I also thought of a pencil topper or maybe a unique chess piece?? the tiny bottles are special thanks for bringing us along to share in your joyful day out it helps us get a break from this crazy world we live in .....looking forward to next week Karl from eastern Canada
Fantastic finds and thanks for sharing with us. And you never hear the Rhyme who killed cock robin any more and no wonder why it was enough to scar children for life . Looking forward to vlog mass x
That tiny little bottle with the small hole reminds me of the insulin bottles we had for my granny. They were tiny and had a rubber seal on the top held by a rim of metal... the syringe needle went through the rubber stopper to access the insulin. When I was a child possibly about 6 yrs old . I was taught how to sterilise the glass syringe and the needles ( they were so thick) in case granny was ill when my parents were at work.... gosh that takes me back....
Amazing treasures found ladies, l’m so looking forward to watching future videos and what a dark nursery rhyme about poor Cock Robin, a big thank you for going out in the cold weather and making videos for us, tfs x Julie
Such a wonderful video. I just love to sit, relax and enjoy your outings. Thank you so much for always putting out your wonderful, treasure adventures 🥰🥰🥰
What a wonderful video. I’m late to the larking channel and am loving it. I am just amazed at all the beautiful finds! Thank you so much for the sharing of your passion and of the history snippets along the way. You two just add so much joy to our world!
I LOVE the Robins, they are so tiny and beutiful. I just wanted to thankyou for my christmas presant that you know nothing about. My husband was watching me, watching you and bought me' the Borrowers Set of books' which is a total delight thankyou for a wonderful utube site and sharing your fun with us all. love from Australia
Love the sherd story. I grew up in the 70’s and had that nursery rhyme in a book, so a wonderful trip down memory lane for me. Thank you. Wishing you both a very happy Christmas. X
I think the metal object with the pointy end is the top metal piece of a purse. And I think the Pointed end has broken off but wouldn't have matched The other side so is the closure to like a cloth purse or Beaded purse.😊
I have seen walking sticks for children, or for fun that were toys that could be won at games in fairs. They were slinder little sticks painted bright colors that had cheap heads of bull dogs, clowns and such. Could your grey hound be one of those heads?
Wow! There are so many good finds today. You'll both have to go after rain storms in future 😂 Could that dog head be a pencil topper like Kate said? I laughed when you found the doll's hand missing the fingers because I imagined a doll's workhouse full of injured limb dolls 🤦♂️ I hope that little figure is roman! It does look like a "blue blobarble" Fleur 😂 that ice blue mini bottle would make a good doll pickle jar with a mini label!
I just want to thank you both for always posting. It truly makes my day. I came home today from work very tired, hungry and ready to be done with the day. With a heating pad on my back I opened my laptop and there YOU ARE! Thank you so very much! Cold, snowy and tired in Montana US
I too watch their vids when I need to relax after a stressful day.
Your channel is an antidote to the horrors of the world. Much appreciated. Kat looks cosy and scrumptious in her winter garb. Your squeals and giggles are so endearing.
Enjoying your excitement, giggles, and laughter! Your 'Sherd Stories" are always the best. Thank you both so very much!
I COULD WATCH YOU GUYS AND THE NORTHERN MUDLARKERS ALL DAY
Those 4 ladies are my absolute favorites.
Yes, I love the old episodes of the Caboodlers trip up to lark with the Northern Mudlarks. They did a great job of showing their journey and when they were saying goodbye, I was hoping it would never end. It's too bad they are so far apart because they made a great collaboration .

I just adore both of your channels and wanted to express my deep gratitude to the two of you for everything you do! Thank you so, so much!
Mudlarking, not muckraking. Stupid autocorrect.

A Robin even finds you by the water. That Greyhound would make a lovely doll with a soft body. Loved the video, great finds :)
The greyhound reminds me of a cane top for a gentleman's cane. Wonderful finds today!
Yes, maybe it is for a fairy's cane 🧚♂
I was going to say parasol but I think you are right. Greyhounds (dogs in general) were kind of a man thing back then, I'm thinking?
Maybe the top of a letter opener
Way too small, I think, for a cane.
Guard de robe, medieval Toilet, where you kept your coat because the urea kept the moths away. Lovely.😂😂😂

Love your Mudmas no matter the number of days. You two give so much joy with your adventures and crafts. 😊
The school slates would make good fireplace hearths.
You two are my most favorite channel, I could watch all day. The moments I feel extreme excitement with you both when you find something to darling (extra tiny bottles) I feel like I’m there ☺️ wheelchairs can’t tread mud but I’m glad I can feel included with you both!

Your excitement over finding little bottles is marvelous-as if you found a lump of gold.

Beads will always be my favorite, but those tiny bottles are so cute! That childrens nursery rhyme is fantastically horrible, I love it! 😆🐦
Very nice. Say hello to the robins. Here they'll be gone til spring.
I second the thought that the Greyhound is the decorative end of a parasol/umbrella handle. Lovely finds, ladies!
Nice finds, love the bottles and dolls heads .Plenty of beads and odd bits..Thanks for taking us..Love n Light 🥰
Random idea I just had: You could take a squirt bottle of some kind (particularly to the muddy places like this) and just kinda squirt down the area you want to look at to remove the gunk and reveal more colors and you could just refill with water from the sea!
The tiny bottles for laundry, blue die to mark it??? Super finds.❤
The green melted bead that your mom found looks like an apple for the dolls house
The burned Doll's head (and shoulders) could be painted 🎨 using a glazed white paint, like porcelain and redo the eyes, lips etc and she'd look good as original 😊! Well done!
The tiny blue bottle is lovely. And the greyhound is fantastic ❤
Dip the burnt doll head or paint directly with bronze color & use as bust in doll house.
Your excitement makes me happy ❤️
I just love that you rescue so many treasures from oblivion. I am grateful for your appreciation of history.
What fun finds!

The pointy long neck winder piece could be used to make a bird/heron statue for your miniature garden pond of the future :)

That little Doulton's lid is perfect for a dog or cat food bowl in the dollhouse!
That was definitely a good day out with lots of great finds. Great Sherd story. Take care and thanks for bringing us along on your mud lark 👏🙏❤️
Tiny bottles could be marking ink👍 thanks for another fabulous video ladies💕🙏🙏

Love the greyhound head. I too was thinking it could be a pencil top before you mentioned it. Great finds! 👍🏼☺️
We generally use a dremmel bit to clean bead release from the glass bead holes. If you do it do it wet.
Wonderful to see you back, sorely missed these past few weeks. A nice collection of finds and an enjoyable sherd story. Thanks for braving that rain.
What amazing finds, the tiny bottles are beautiful, the dolls heads are beautiful too.All your finds were amazing, thank you for sharing them with us.
Love the tiny bottles and the beads. Thanks again for the history lesson.

oh Wow so many Finds, new place? 😁 The tiny bottles are Irresistible, I 💕 Love your videos 😳🙋♀️🌳🐿️🌻
The tiny, tiny bottles I learned from other mudlarks, is marking ink.
I am always happy to see you rescue doll parts. 👍
The pieces of clay pipes you keep finding would make very nice wall decor in your doll houses

I LOVE the Robins, they are so tiny and beutiful. I have had a couple in my garden for some years now and I hang up an tea-kettle this summer on the side of my gate, and guess, they did build a nest in there and had kids. It was so so so fun, I loved it. I have one more tea-kettle (they are in ceramic) in the garden too, in a tree, but they are so few so no one have nested there, yet. Thank`s for the tour in that awful weather, looked cold🥶
I think the greyhound could be a greyhound riding crop handle
Thank you both so much for sharing this video!! Very entertaining and informative!! Y’all are my favorite!!
I just wanted to thankyou for my christmas presant that you know nothing about. My husband was watching me, watching you and bought me' the Borrowers Set of books' which is a total delight thankyou for a wonderful utube site and sharing your fun with us all. love from Australia
Perhaps the teeny bottle was just for marking ink? The story of Cock Robin was so interesting!!
Great job ladies love to hear the excitement in your voices
Close to 30k. Well done ladies
Thank you. love the tiny bottles. Love the cock robin rhyme haven't heard it for many years great to know more about the meaning.
Interesting story for the shard, we have come a long way trying to make things PC in the world, not always for the better.
Totally agree.
Love the sherd story. I grew up in the 70’s and had that nursery rhyme in a book, so a wonderful trip down memory lane for me. Thank you.
Wishing you both a very happy Christmas. X
It was a great day!!!!!
Don’t worry about your gloves, that is good honest dirt!
I think the metal object with the pointy end is the top metal piece of a purse. And I think the Pointed end has broken off but wouldn't have matched The other side so is the closure to like a cloth purse or Beaded purse.😊
I always enjoy your posts❤
Lovely finds.
oh dear, I missed your notification so not watching in the 1st hr. sorry. excited to see what u find.
Could the greyhound head be the top off a riding crop?? The bit you can open and shut gaTES with
I'm wondering if the greyhound clay pipe thing could be a snuff measure?? Awesome video as always. I love mudlarking after a rain storm ❤❤
I have seen walking sticks for children, or for fun that were toys that could be won at games in fairs. They were slinder little sticks painted bright colors that had cheap heads of bull dogs, clowns and such. Could your grey hound be one of those heads?
Love your videos, thank you for sharing.
Thank you
