- So Monday was private test day at santapod and it was all going well until i made the mistake of running with a flat battery which ultimately killed the engine, however plenty more damage was done to mounts before the engine let go so i think its safe to say it will be a while before it will be back on the road 😢 anyway hope you have enjoyed the content and there will be stripdown videos soon so keep your eyes peeled,

Some aftermarket ecus have voltage compensation tables for the injectors so that if this happens the injector stays open longer. Obviously if you are at 11 volts the fuel pump is going to struggle big time to make any pressure. Sad to see it broken but amazed that it was firing when you changed the plug. I split cylinder liners on my k-series twice running too much ignition timing with a piggyback superchips. Doesnt take much for them to blow up, Look forward to an update on the fix

Still got the metro bud! It will be back very soon, stock internals bar gapped piston rings that is all, like i say it will be back very soon
@@houseofmods ok sound that's good to know.i seen the video on gapping the rings, there pretty good engines,well I believe with good maintenance.is it a simple bolt in with the 75 turbo unit to the zr then?
@@jason.aldridge5004 yeah they are solid when well maintained and tuned well, very simple swap and all bolts in on the metro mounts!
Still you live and learn and it will be back even better all part of the fun and the learning experience ,it was a good personal best though .

Do you have a guide on what is involved in fitting a 1.8t to a metro. Interested in doing it as a winter project.

@@houseofmods I have a new head still in the box from Austin Rover. Engine has not been started for a long time, but has only covered 30k plus i have the r65 gearbox, again only done 30k.
