Been a long time since you posted a driving video! I missed them! And the commentary with them! 2 years out from 21 to get my Cdl with the school bus endorsement and hope I can drive someday!
As a Bus Driver from South Carolina, on clip 2:03, is a prime example why you have to drive at 5mph with the hazard lights on at the bus lot! And as for the Railroad Crossing, it's 100-300 feet when approaching it with the hazard lights on and 15-50ft when you stop behind the white line, and you forgot to mentioned the fan is off and the kids are quiet, and I haven't seen or hear a train approaching, and the only time you put that parking brake on and put it into neutral, is either you physically see or hear the train approaching or if that bus breaks down on the track and if it's in harms way.
I'm not able to make new videos, my employer suggested that I stop. There aren't any Bluebirds for me to drive anyway. The only ones we have are for special needs, I drive long buses only.
On our 2000 BB 3800 with over 220,900 miles our driver put it in 2nd at crossings. The transmission a lot of times wouldn't grab or would skip, 35% of the time when you hit that throttle it wouldn't do anything, you'd stay still or roll as if it was in neutral when it was in D until something grabbed. What an awful bus it was. I could go on forever
I had a 2000 for a speir worst bus bouncy loud deathtrap dt466e it was a amtran only for the morning out reg bus was a 2005 thomas freightliner all the issues were Anna freeze except the door stoped working once
We had someone run head on into one of our buses this Friday pulling out of a gas station. Totally destroyed the Fusion and disabled our bus. Fortunately there were no injuries.
Well sadly to find out my 99 i rode the my preschool year caught on fire i saw the number of the bus and the hood is black so idk how it happened last time i saw it was my 2nd grade year and now its at a yard im in 10th now

my school bus was a 1999 IHC AmTran
7.3l Powerstroke Diesel Engine V8.
Allison AT545 Transmission.
Retired 5/27/16.
265,000 after its retirement.
We still have some 90s bluebirds for a spare bus
I love the DT466E AT545 combo
Sounds great!!
A lot of these bus videos are located in Louisville Kentucky Just like this one LOL
Love the video. Can you make a video of the door open and close and warning light or make a tour of the bus
Im assuming this 99 is not in the fleet anymore as its 2021. Retired.
I believe they've all been put out to pasture. Those were excellent buses.
@@yellowbusguy they really were

people seem to think buses can stop on a dime when they can't

It gets worse when I gets to heavier vehicles. Damn the worst to stop would be a train.
Was that your peminet bus?
For a while, several years ago.
@@yellowbusguy i loved the amtrans.

The hottest it gets here
In Canada is 35 defrees
