Those eyes are absolutely mental mate!! It freaks me out how humanlike they are and such a beautiful color. Good on ya!
OMG! The Jumper is so cute. And you have clicked amazing photographs! Awesome!
Tneres a common mistake conception that a better sensor can somehow give worse images. The higher rez sensors allow you to zoom in closer which make things appear softer. Diffraction is a light bending phenomenon that is exactly the same for a given aperture no matter how many megapixels the sensor has. So by being able to zoom in on a smaller portion of the image you will see softening. But at the same aperture and viewing size, the R5 will have the same sharpness as the Eos R. You don't go backwards in image quality. The diffraction limited aperture just limits how much better the higher res sensor can be at the same viewing size . But you do not go backwards. My R5 is producing sharper images than my 5D mkiii all the way to F 16. If you get the chance test this with your Eos R.
The outtakes are a blast! You say the same things I do when things go awry. "I got my foot stuck" - gold!
lmao
Thank you for sharing your views! Love your spider! I picked up a EOS R5 a month back and I have been extremely impressed with the results. I use it with a MPE-65 and the IBIS make it a lot easy to use. I click at 1/250 & F/16 and still get postable shots. Since MPE-65 doesn't have autofocus, I am unable to do the auto focus stacking. Hope to pick a 100mm tokina soon!
amazing photos!
and I like your lightroom presets look.
Amazing work. Very well done. I own the R5 for landscapes but man you make me want to do more macro.
Awesome photos...the outtakes are always good to see...for a laugh and for how much effort you put into your work...great video...👍. R5 well out of my price range...🤣
Excellent shots Stewart.
Awesome photographs great work!!
Love genuine excitement after seeing photos
I'm hooked , bought my first jumper sling last weekend , your videos are really interesting , giving me some great ideas for when my little guy gets bigger 👍👍
Awesome, it's does get additive.
Brilliant video man , well done !! 👏🙌✌
What a beautiful creature! And great photos too 👌
Stewart, that is some really nice pictures!
Keep up the good work! 👍
Thank you.
Stunning pictures 🤩 wow...
The spider looks so cute 😍😂. Thanks for the video!
Awesome and hard work!
I can’t believe you said your computer is going to have a benny 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I haven’t heard that for years! Awesome video and photos, thank you.
Stewart.
Your jumper is adorable.
The perfect study for your projects.
They are lol
@@StewartWoodArt a children's photo book in the making someday?
It's not about the gear but the man behind it. Awesome work sir.
I appreciate that!
Note to self; don't test an out of my budget, high megapixel full frame. Thanks for taking on the temptation for us Stewart👍
The images were fantastic!
interesting thought, see if you can test the R6, see what the diffraction vs lower mp is like for macro.
Great video. You ever consider Helicon Focus for focus stacking/bracketing ?
great video Stewart with some really helpfull tips , do you think the MP-E 65 is sharper than the Canon 100 f2.8 IS ? i own the 100 2.8 and am thinking of buying the MP-E !
The R5 looks like a beast and beautiful jumper to , thanks for the vid
Thanks, Stewart. I plan to test out my R6 with canons lenses soon. The eye detection is great for birds so I’m curious how it works with larger insects. Do you have a favorite macro lens at this time? Thanks.
Amazing what you can do when you are good at it.
Thank you.
Hi Stewart great video , i see your using a great camera Canon R5 which uses RF lens I see your using your old 65mm lens , is there an adaptor you're using ....
Superb pictures
Excellent & nice pictures :)
Over here in the USA conkers are called buckeyes and I live in the buckeye state, Ohio. I have been showing local children how us Brits put a string through them and play conkers.
She's a beautiful model 😍
10:40 "... have an absolute Benny." 🤣
Phenomenal!
Thank you
Finally, someone who used an R5 and all its mega pixel for macro. Can’t wait to see your review. Do you think the diffraction is due to the high mega pixels or because the Mpe-65 is an old lense (which I loved btw) ?
Yes! 🙂 I think it's just the 45Mp causing it. The DLA limit for this sensor (based on 2,5x airy disc/pixel) is about f/8.3.
But with macro you can see the softening from DLA so easily because most of the lenses are designed to be compact and loose light (like with teleconverters). So for example when they are set at f/11 they are that only when focused to infinity.
The real effective aperture at different magnifications vary between manufacturers and lens models. But for some Laowa lenses you can calculate the actual aperture by:
Actual f = shown f x (1 + magnification)
So for 1:1 magnification when you have chosen f/11 from the lens the actual aperture is f/22. And for 2:1 it's f/33.
wow, this jumping are so big!!
Great video.
Hello and thank you for your informative video. I am faced with a difficult choice, take the R5 but apparently I read that it is impossible to do focus stacking with the flash in manual mode because the R5 uses the electronic shutter, can you confirm this for me and perhaps how to get around the problem?
Great shot 👍🏻
Did you have the same compatibility problems with your flash as on your EosR?
Yes I do, it's the flash - it's old.
how did you mount the lense to the eos r5
Great video as always. Any chance of getting your hands on an R6 for a test, as I would love to hear your opinion on the difference between the 20mp and 45mp for macro.
Not much chance I’m afraid, Canon won’t send anything for review.
So the EOS R6 maybe great for macro photography too!
The diffraction is a lens issue, more megapixels just lets you see it.
Exactly.
What a beautiful little spider
Im waiting untill r5 mķii comes outvin april snd buy r5 then. Will sell my r6 and then r6 mkii be my 2nd camara and r5 my main. Im just starting out in nacro so even more ecited to by it now
That spider is like " G-L-A-M-O-R- OUS yeah GLAMOROUS"
How did you focus for these shots? Did eye af work?
I can dream. The R5 is definitely nice. Just wish it wasn’t so pricey.
I know right lol
@@StewartWoodArt Love the focus bracketing feature on my 90D. Thanks Canon :)
In Australia it is nearly 7k without a lens. Yeah nah, not for me. I just got a Nikon Z7 for way cheaper with a lens. I don't need to focus on people jumping on a trampoline or birds in flight so take that aspect out of the equation and I have image quality that is at least on par if not a touch better in my opinion.
Yeh the R5 is cool
likes it like normal and good choice of spider thou i must say I'm waiting for the macro video with the R5 and no i could not help saying that lol
I know lol
Great video! May I ask which lens you were using?
It was the Canon 100mm f/2.8 L
Hi Stewart. Entomologist and fellow arthropod shooter in southern Calif, USA. Great video! Just landed the R5. I followed your link and picked up the diffusion kit - appreciate the heads-up. BTW the discord link isn't working for me. I already have a discord acct, but cannot join your group nor can I find it. What exactly is its name?
Try this link: discord.gg/yzyUkg3
When doing your spider shots, do you use manual white balance or AWB?
I use auto unless I'm doing an image stack then I use flash.
Is it the number of megapixels, or the size of the sensor? I've never been sure about that...
Megapixels means you can crop in more, but can suffer from diffraction sooner. Sensor size can affect the magnification and depth of field.
Very very nice 👌
Cheers mate
what extension tube are you using?
I don't use extention tubes on my Canon EOS R, I use old one from ebay for my 650D.
