It wouldn’t be nu-metal week without some Korn 🤘🏽
Vinny has been off this week... He said every body stole from korn, lol... Korn didn't start 1 damn thing let alone wearing tracksuits, what a joke.
@@jboogie9469 who brought slapping into nu metal? and who was there before korn in nu metal? they are one of the pioneers.
@@amoredfist nu metal is just a worse version of rage against the machine, beastie boys, red hot chilli peppers, etc. (should I go on?). The peppers have been bass slapping since the early 80's. So no, nothing new there. Korn is fine, but pioneers they are not. You can lie to me but don't lie to yourselves
@@amoredfist I agree, I used logic, well said. Just a quick question, is your name fieldy?
Raul yeah especially considering they invented it
My favorite Korn song.
I didn't see your comment when I wrote mine but I agree with you
Me too.
Agreeing with Vin. For awhile Korn ruled the world, especially between 1998 to 2001.
Please react to Be quiet and drive by Deftones
Great Choice :-)
I started as a KoRn kid in high school and I’m glad I still am
People forget how huge Korn really were in the late 90’s, I remember in Australia they were ruling the charts constantly and not metal charts, mainstream pop charts they were above britney spears and backstreet boys
wish i was a teen in the 90s :-,) my dad is lucky sadly he never got into metal only 80s music like rock and pop. i hateee being a gen z
Disappointed no coal chamber during nu metal week smh
Yeah some loco would of been awesome
no Sevendust either
YEAH MY FAVORITE KORN SONG! 🤘🏻
This one and did my time are my favorites
This, Falling away from me and, make me bad are tied for my favorite
There's sound guy is the best in the business their live shows sound amazing
This track blew my 12 year old mind.
Same, I remember my babysitters popping this baby into the stereo. My little boy ears were not ready for it's majesty.
still looking forward to see a reaction of Pretty from korn
That'd be great! It's a great song plus it has a sad but interesting story behind it.
Jonathan Davis had an endorsement with adidas for his track suits.
Yea, 10 years after Run DMC....... thesolesupplier.co.uk/news/first-look-dmc-x-adidas-originals-nmd-ts1/
Yup then puma then pony
@@nemo4907 how did he have a deal 10 yrs before Run DMC? Korn wasn't a band or famous
I thought he didn’t get the endorsement from adidas and that’s why he started wearing Puma…?….
Thanks for the walk down memory lane. I've seen all these bands several times back then along with tons more. Met a lot of them too. Some of my best concert experiences ever.
Halo by Soil
Youth Of The Nation by POD
New Disease by Spineshank
What Comes Around by Ill Nino
OMG! Thank you so much for finally getting to my favorite song by Korn and possibly ever! This too is what got me listening to Korn who quickly became my favorite band and still is to this day. Thank you again!
Vin I think you like Korn as much as I do... Awesome!! Love the videos guys
Congrats on your one year anniversary! Keep up the good work! 🤘🏼😊
5:40 also, Kris Kohls of Adema, Ryan Shuck of Orgy. Eminem somewhere in there
Surprised they haven't done an Adema video yet, as singer Mark Chavez is Jonathan Davis' half brother (and their voices do actually sound quite similar).
Also tito ortiz
BRING BACK NU METAL SO WE CAN PARTY LIKE IT'S 1999
luv this song too...thankx 4 playin it ….
I am so glad you are still so hooked. Be you man. Korn is also big part of my life. Thank you for that reaction
Korn is a great band, love all there older stuff, also love the way vin rocks out whilst sori is just sat there probably saying to herself 'what is this guy doing' 😂😂
I agree about everyone copying the Korn sound. Every bass player I knew suddenly was playing a 5 string in A tuning. And there were 7 string Ibanez guitars disappearing out of all the music shops.
I think the bandana outfit was in the thoughtless video.
The 7 string Ibanez thing was going on since Steve Vai dropped Passion and Warfare
Anthony C In rock, Steve Vai was playing 7'strings way before these guys and he was probably the only one playing it effectively. I saw him with Whitesnake playing one.
I agree Via used it. But did it cause the sales of 7 strings to spike like it did when Korn came out. The simple answer is no.
Anthony C that's true. It turned into a fad. But I do remember a few friends of mine buying 7 strings and that was before Korn. We were into all that technical guitar playing. Lol.
Then Stephan (Def Tones) came out with a signature ESP... funny because he loved those guitar virtuosos. But doesn't play anything like them. (We grew up together).
My man felt that WHOLE SONG you KNOW he was OG.
Korn . The originators. Korn is true.
korn was formed in 1993 but deftones and 311 both started in1988
So?
@@leewebster7701 so ...they are old and gold 🕌
Why would you get any hate for saying Korn started it all? Their musical imprint is still being heard to this day! The seven string sound, as it's used today is all because Korn pioneered that sound in 94.
1 year and 117k subscribers? Hot damn congrats guys. Hard work and good timing definitely pay off
I agree with everything you said here Vin.. and that's rare for me! Congrats, we have synced..
That's so awesome guys! Happy 1 Year!! 🎈🎉▶🎥🎬🎊
I saw Korn live a few weeks ago at a festival. I gotta say, they fucking kicked ass dude. They sounded really really good. I was always a casual Korn fan, but I respect them a lot more after that.
This is the first song/music video I ever saw from KoRn when I was 14. Instantly hooked from there on out.
Dead Bodies Everywhere immediately started playing in my head at the end. Every time.
Tracksuits came from hip hop fashion imo...
Yup. I know I first saw those Adidas track suits with RUN DMC way back in the day. I think KoRn was inspired by their look to be honest.
True but....... Run DMC had Korn beat by almost TEN YEARS! Here is PROOF. thesolesupplier.co.uk/news/first-look-dmc-x-adidas-originals-nmd-ts1/
@@nemo4907 Are you going to post this on every post that mention tracksuits?
Fieldy is a hip hop head, and the first time Jon wore a tracksuit he stole it from fieldy
P.O.D. - Southtown, please ;)
What a shit band
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 What a shit opinion
Mr.SmithGNR Smith keep that shit to urself man nobody cares how u feel
Both Kid Rock and Korn came out with Follow the Leader and Devil Without a Cause at the exact same date. It was considered the biggest day of Numetal history.
Every time I listening to that song I always headbanginging in the beginning just like Vin in the video.
In '95 when Jerry died...I gave away my bootleg collection and went on a journey for something completely different.....and eventually found Korn. It took all of 10 seconds of Got the Life and I was all in.....what's interesting is that while I was looking for something quite different.....what I found was something quite similar! I've been to 300+ concerts in my life and only Korn rivals the energy and vibe that the Dead used to give me during live performances. Like other commenters have said their sound guys are wizards! They made the Poughkeepsie Civic Center sound like Red Rocks! Unreal
Congrats on your anniversary! You guys do a great job, particularly with your lyrical analysis. Keep up the good work!
I love this song.
Undoubtedly my all time favorite Korn song
Korn changed your life forever... And somehow in the midst of all that transformation, you missed out on Tool.
Vins got some Tool love, they put up an entire album review video for Tool. But still, I agree with you. Idk how men born before 1985 don’t know and love bands like Tool...or Rage Against the Machine. I feel like those two went hand in hand.
@@la213blanco + Definitely... Tool and Rage were both at Lollapalooza in 93. Tool was an obscure band performing on the side stage as we walked in.... I heard the bass cutting through the treeline like thunder... I was sold almost immediately. Yes, to not know who Tool is and be almost 10 years old when they came out is crazy. By the time Lateralus came out in 2001, they were selling out arena's.
I didn't hear about tool until 2004
Korn is the best been to 6 of their concerts love em
Korn is still headlining with these current big bands in the festivals! Currently
LEGENDS but only the family will understand
I did learn something... what's one person's garbage, is someone else's treasure....
You only just found that out...?
@@SketchyMagpie + No, of course not. But this being complete garbage to me, but vin thinks its the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'll bet that some people don't think sliced bread is all that either... 😆
I guess 40 Below Summer didn't make the finale.
Rain, Step into the Sideshow or Wither Away would have been nice.
Awesome nj band
Timeless classic
Love them to react to koRn on South Park. Such a funny video.
niblet!
Moonspell - Night Eternal
David’s groovy ass drumming doesn’t get talked about enough in lore.
i love u both korn for life much love from new zealand
One of the only songs I find myself going over the speed limit. One of my favorite songs.
The lead singer from Orgy is Jonathan Davis' half-brother.
And they were wearing Adidas track suits until they were sponsored by Puma in the early "oughts"
I still say the pioneers of Nu Metal are Anthrax when they teamed up with Public Enemy to do Public Enemies Bring the Noise. But then again that's just my opinion. Lol Still luv Korn tho🤘🤘
Faith No More was Korn first
FAITH NO MORE AND MR. BUNGLE was the first to come close to nu metal style. Mixing funk with other catchy elements with dark elements of rock/metal . Primus also comes close a lot of early groove metal bands also.
Might as well put Aerosmith with Run DMC. Plus Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against The Machine
I was gonna say Run DMC & Aerosmith were the 1st, but I would classify that as Nu-Rock. Lol Cuz Aerosmith isn't metal. Lol
Got the Run DMC part right. Rock Box is really the OG
I'm gonna be that guy and say Run DMC started the track suit thing lol.
Absolutely. Vin should definitely be aware of that. Adidas track suits and shell toes.
yeah! its not only the track suit. Its ADIDAS. Everybody used ADIDAS back in the day. Shoes, pants, Sweatshirt!
It came from street kids and B-boys of late 70’s and 80’s New York and Run DMC took the style and sent into the stratosphere.
sry korn kicks ass yes i love korn but run dmc started the track suit, thats where i first seen it anyways
lol a year later, but korn restarted it.
Oh the memories this song brings back..
Korn just had their own vibe... their metal with rap blend and also being so bass heavy just really made them standout from any of other Numetal bands. I didn't get really into them till Follow the Leader came out and man, that was an amazing cd. I got their back catalog because of their sound and some of their interesting rap song covers. I ended up liking those earlier albums as well. I felt Issues was pretty solid. After they started dealing with a whole lot of internal issues amongst the bandmates their stuff after that kind of felt like a fall off IMO. I still get their new material as its pretty decent, but you can't say its as good as up through Issues IMO.
My second favourite korn song after blind
opposite for me this 1st Blind 2nd
@@blueeyes1110 cool
Follow the leader August 18,1998 Devil without a Cause August 18, 1998
Great job! I love this segment. Y’all are doing amazing how about 80s 90s metal and grunge week
My favourite Korn song
Oh yeah I remember those track suits, they started out with ADIDAS and after that it was PUMA, I bought just about every color of the puma suede classics lol🤟
You guys do the best songs
Korn's best song
It’s March 30th 2020 congrats on 2 years y’all
I wish y'all would react to Korn songs that aren't so popular. Like Camel Song, Eaten up Inside, Last Legal Drug, Layla, This Broken Soul...
Good God
Last Legal Drug and Camel Song are great
Liar, Hold on, oildale
There was a movie trailer review show many years ago now with regular people & a professional host on the reelz channel & one of the young people had their name be got the life after this song cuz he loved korn
There have been many bands i have seen multiple times, but Korn is the only one I can say I seen 3x in one month. When I was in high school anytime they were near i was there.
Yeah KORN took over !! You’re right!! 🤘🏼
faith no more - Caffeine or Midlife Crisis or Everything's Ruined or Falling to Pieces or Zombie Eaters
FNM are the ancestors of this genre with out their music this genre wouldn't be the same they play a huge part in the creation of nu metal. 🤘 even though their not considered heavy metal.
5:45 Eminem was at that party too :)
Niels Ole Nørgaard Tito Ortiz mma too
I like your reaction and how you describe what john was going through im a metal head 80s born kid
Your freaking awesome!! I did do the same in the beginning with guitar and drums lol
Disillusioned by a perfect circle would love to see it
Stefano Zalabar I fell in love with that song! Would be a good reaction.
What a song used in intro ?
My absolute favorite KoRn song.
Big up yourself man you taught me new stuff and im a huge kornie hairy man doing all my shit to look like raggedy ann
Korn did not start the track suit fashion, but they did make it more main stream and open up the style to a whole different set of people. They also ended up getting a deal with Puma because of their track suit style. Somewhere I still have my official Korn logo track suit jacket.
Not just the track suits but lime green was a big color in that era lol - Lisa
Her face is like “so you remember our anniversary for our reaction channel but not our relationship!” 😮
Have you heard Too Many Puppies - Primus? The intro might make you remember of a Korn song
L.A.P.D.(pre- KORN)
Faith No More are the real pioneers.
After the Burial - Lost in the Static🔥
This song and Bawitdaba actually both came out in 98.
You gotta do Sevendust - "Angel's Son"! Amazing song and they were part of the Nu Metal era as well!
wstuart913 Black
KORN..... Big hugs from Brunei 🇧🇳
Vin seems cool as heck. I’m socal and would love you Hang with y’all with a wild playlist and bbqiing
Somebody someone ...favorite korn video!!
I love this song..can you do a 40 below summer-self medicate..that would be a relief for me..more power vin and sori..
He already plays drums and guitars, in the way he moves his arms.
I always get Jonathan Davis comparisons on my face
🤟Got the Life also was my introduction to metal! Hell yeah
Lol
Korn gets the lion share of the credit...and I love Korn.....but idk wasn't Faith No More really Korn before Korn?
Faith started the rap in rock thing, but Korn brought the heavy metal into it. Which causes a the listener to headbang...which is basically the core of Nu Metal genre. Head banging, with rap like singing
Have to disagree.....Run DMC and Rick Rubin will always be the pioneers of Rap Rock.....Rock Box is ground 0
Gabe Deane far fetched to say they’re pioneers. Yeah the roots of Nu Metal start there but, what about beastie boys and their Zeppelin samples? Still just hip hop. The new genre of music started when ACTUAL bands like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Rage Against the Machine and Faith No More did music with rap rock style. Nu Metal was born with Korn after that. Facts
Ya I've probably strayed a bit mixing nu metal with rap/rock. But Rock Box is really it for me as far as rap/rock is concerned. That was 2 years before Beastie Boys.... I think...it's off DMCs 1at album. It's a killer guitar track btw. Run DMC avoided sampling
Congrats on the 1 year ! To each his own, but never got into Korn or that sound. Few ok songs I can listen to without spinning the dial, but nothing really like, same for nu metal as a whole
14:00 The riff is (phyrgian), which is a minor mode (b-a-c-f#-g) nothing "shinny sounding about it. Maybe because it's not played in a typical lower octave that you think this.
Opeth - Demon of the Fall!!
You dig korn awesome
Faith No More - Falling to Pieces
Rhapsody Of Fire - March of the Swordmaster
Please react to Adema - Giving in. Great Nu Metal and the lead singer is Jonathon Davis brother. Thanks!
Step brother
@@KoRn_NuTT Well, I mean if you want to get technical, he's his Half-Brother (same father). Still brothers though :)
