Metal is like the safest musical genre to express yourself within
Metal is also very tame. This stuff is looked down upon while rap always includes killing people, doing hard drugs, and banging every woman under the sun - all for fun.
Other Metal Heads are also among the nicest people I ever met. And Metal Concerts have a unique feeling to them that sceptical ppl should experience imo

"It comes close to satanic". It's funny because it's actually the complete opposite. Jonathan never sings about that kind of stuff, almost all of their songs are about their personal feelings and experiences and their lyrics have some of the deepest meaning in all of metal music today. Unfortunately being a different genre than what they're used to some generations perceive it as something twisted and evil when it totally isn't. Such a shame.
True

@@Kennethyesticles420 head and fieldy are born again christian

I think what a lot of older folks might not get at first glance of a Korn video or song is it's not evil it's for people who have been victims of evil and are taking back their power. The horrifying imagery isn't in support or violence it's an outlet for grief and anger if you've been a victim of violence.
this was beautifully said
Well said!
yes exactly
That’s absolute truth. I was drawn to this because of the violence and rage in my own life, from my family. Still struggle with PTSD every time I sleep. I guess that’s why I’m up at 4am

This is why I love metal so much. It's screaming defiance against the darkness, catharsis for the agonies we all face in life.

I would really want to see what the elders would’ve said if you played Daddy. It has rage, sadness, and just so much raw emotion filled into the song.

It would show some of them that metal is therapy to some, it's not just noise, it's expression to how us people feel.
That guy in the blue shirt was really killing it in this video. Really happy he was a shining light in this video while most other elders in this video were hating on it.
He’s even better in the slipknot video 🤘
Too many people hear the aggression and instantly shrug it off as hollow, violent and evil.
It's a very nuanced genre that requires a lot of understanding and open mindedness. Contrary to what almost every single person believes, metal has some of the most positive and uplifting messages I've ever heard from any medium in my entire life.
True... In my opinion FBE should actually get the elders to read some of the lyrics to these songs... They'll understand and appreciate Metal/whatever genre they play more.

You didn't play Daddy for them. That explains why Korn was so popular, they were emotionally raw and expressing their pain, and others could feel it too.
they would have to show the song’s background info so it makes more sense
Daddy...that song you WANT to suggest to people but never openly tell them to listen to. Honestly, I think you have to discover that song on your own to truly feel the impact. “There’s so much pain in that video. But you know there’s so much pain in the world and who sings about it except metal bands?” I love the guy who said this because these artist such as korn, use music as their therapy for whatever has happened to them. And that’s also why most people, including me like it because they can relate to it or it even helps them with anger. Like sure, some pop artist talk about their pain but it’s never like this, it’s mostly about how their boyfriend left them.
Metal music for life 🫶
not much different than blues. which is sad music. and yeah agree.
Especially like ICP which has a song called To Catch a Predator, which is basically a callout songs about online predators being tricked by a killer who pretends to be a girl
And I saw a lot of comments of people who went through this and it makes me feel whole in a way knowing that these people could find comfort or find a piece of themselves to listen and know they aren’t alone or just feel empowered.
So metal and the music makes people feel safe and the people in it are amazing. Love them all 🥰🥰

Дмитрий Дим he said in one of the videos (I don’t remember which one) that his sons (who are the creators of the channel) introduced him to the world of metal. They are metal heads and he wanted to know what are his kids listening. He got into metal because of his sons.
You should look at Munky.
@@gaunterodimm8764 oh no, you!
He hardly even has those lines you get on your cheeks when you get older, it's impressive
So actually now in 2023 we're seeing a resurgence and kids in love with Korn. It's incredible to watch I'm 31 years old and I've been in love with this band since I was 10 years old and to see how kids are actually into it now is just unbelievable and it really makes me very happy because they're still going even now and people are still loving them even the new generation! Korn is a wonderful needed band. Without their music and their lyrics I would not be alive today and that is a fact I owe so much to them.
It's actually very sad because the reason they're so in love with bands like Korn is because the music of their era doesn't speak to them at all they love it nobody in the industry today is willing to talk about the horrible things still going on in the world we went right back to where we were in the early 90s these kids are crying for help.
Hey dude, I’m part of the demographic you guys are talking about and I just wanted to pitch my two cents.
You’re right a lot of the music nowadays dm does not speak to us, just because of laziness I believe, and the steadily decreasing amount of talent in both lyrical and instrumental spheres necessary to be famous. Artists are more passionate about money and fame than the integrity of writing a complex song.
But I also think there are PLENTY of fantastic and lyrically meaningful songs nowadays, take for example Hozier, I find a lot of artists who are fantastic, you simply have to dig!
Also, I don’t think a lot of artists HAVE strayed away from talking about issues in our time, they’re just botching about something DIFFERENT, what is unfortunate, is a lot of the time it’s done in a sloppy lazy way that’s always second to the actual monitory value of the song itself. Which is terribly sad. Take for example RATM and SOAD, they did it so well, and pushed issues so well, whether you agreed with them or not they were fantastic activists, and passionate too, BECAUSE that was what there music was primarily about, activism, passion.
Now, people seem to primarily do it for the cash, and then next, they make a twitter post trying to relate it to a belief of theirs and use the excuse “art is interpretive” as an excuse. Anyway I’ll shut up now. Love Korn, mad chats dude!
If only they knew what Johnathan Davis went through as a child, they'll probably understand better ,of what korn goes for with their lyrics

No.
Also rock (e.g. Horses, November Rain etc), rap (Dear Mama by 2Pac, Roses by Kanye, Suicidal Thoughts by Biggie etc), house (Wish You Were Here by Black Coffee, You Were Right by Rüfüs dü Sol etc) even pop honestly (Love the Way You Lie by Rihanna, Hello by Adele etc). As a certified Metal Head, the reason why myself and other metal heads love metal is simply because its poetic.
We listen to the lyrics and they always have a connection to the listener in some way. It's all loud because we want to chant it, chant our struggles acknowledge them with others, and be heard. That's why we are so friendly most of the time. We all share a bond and express ourselves. We like to have fun and be happy, not dread the struggles. We turn the bad times into a banger

Metal awakens the senses and talks on subjects that the media tries to cover up.
