As a dog trainer, I highly recommend the Himalayan chews. Dogs go crazy over them and stay engaged with them for a long time. I had no idea about microwaving them, great tip! Thanks.
Helpful. My trainer also offered a great tip for my dog who doesn't get enthused about fetching or chasing balls. We have a local disability-accessible playground which is essentially deserted all winter. The equipment is close to the ground and safe making it an ideal place for a dog to explore.
I took one of those big cow bones and screwed it to a wooden board. Set the couch on top of the board so my rottweiler has a large stationary object to chew on. She doesn't chew furniture anymore

Funny about the antlers and himilyan chews I have had the opposite problem with dogs I’ve sat and mine as well they prefer antlers over the chews but I do take the antlers and scrape them again the side walk and that seems to let out a scent and get them chewing.
@@LisaGallegos 1) I Am USING THE BIG RED kONG "Weebles Wabble" that I put kibbles, apples, blueberries into and she knocks this around to get out the food. 2) I use the muffin tray deal with tennis balls and blueberries hidden under the balls. The three cups with food trick under one cup one was too advanced/hard for her.3) We do a lot of throw the red Kong ball down the hallway and retrieve it - which she loves. But I need more mental exercise options that can be homemade. I don't use the towel trick...she will eat the towel! I just ordered a durable K9 tug for playtime. Thank you for any other ideas you can share!
You shouldnt give your dog a whole complete antler. Its ok to give an anter that is like cut in half exposing marrow like stuff inside and the dogs like to naw on that its easier on their teeth than giving s whole anter because the outside is harder than the inside. My dogs seem to enjoy them. Hope this helps! :)
Hello , I have a german sheppard and wanted to develop his brain. I did not want something , such as just command and obedience.I wanted him to have developed intelliecne for him to understand me. I was searching a lot for a truly working stuff to develop my dog's hidden intellence. Finally, I found a truly beneficial program which is provided by CPDT-KA sertificated lady. Then, I helped my dog to develop his brain in a professional way with the program. If you want to learn more about the program , click the link below: relentless-crafter-9205.ck.page/66e9b6580f I hope you will find help with the program as well : )
I hope you still check for comments. I have a Great Dane. She is a wonderful smart girl but a little lazy. I rescued her several years ago as a adult. I put her at about 8 Y.O. I wonder if you have exercise methods for this low energy pup. And any brain games or tricks for an aging giant that don't require up and down off the floor. Thank you Rob-Roy
You could put a non slip snuffle mat on top of a platform/table her height so she doesn’t have to crank her neck. Nosework is also great (same thing on a platform or table). Training tricks is also a great option (like turn your head left and right) as that’ll be good for neck mobility as well!
Antlers and Yak chews are tasty but in dogs with high bite force will more often that not result in damaged and bleeding gums. Always prioritise structure and obedience over "Party tricks"

My loves to chew them but when I blow them up in microwave he throws it up everytime
Thank you! I can def tell the difference if my dogs are mentally stimulated
For sure...makes a BIG difference!
Long-lasting chews are the best! I give one to my puppy when I need to get some work done and want to keep her distracted for a while. Lol! Cheers.

Thanks for the helpful video! Just a tip: my vet recommended against antlers as they are too hard and often lead to fractures or broken teeth!
