We are 10% buying toys for mental stimulation, but 90% buying toys to convince dogs to not damage our houses.

I have something like the carrot puzzle for my dog. But instead of carrots, mushrooms are used instead. One of the mushrooms u can stuff treats in it and close the mushroom with Velcro and the dogs has to figure out how to get it out. It’s very hard to get it out since she doesn’t have fingers. But her fav puzzle is the hide and slide puzzle. She always gets excited when I ask her if she wants to play with her puzzle and she runs to it and waits for me to fill it with treats. She knows the word puzzle but doesn’t know the word sit. When I tell her to sit she actually lays down and never sits.

Oh my gosh I’m so glad I watched this video because I have that carrot holder I did not know it was a puzzle I’ve had that for like two years we just play catch with the carrots but now we’re gonna have fun with it tomorrow and I’m gonna put treats in there thank you for this!

My 8 week old border collie pup figured out the level 2 puzzles on the second day lol.
The hide and slide is too easy. I don't even put them directly in the big hole any more. I block the round piece with the flipper and put the treats inside the block, so she has to move the flipper, slide the block over the hole to drop the treat into the big hole, and slide the block away again. If I do get another one, I'm definitely getting the level 4.
The spinning bottle one can actually be made at home with water bottles and a rope.
I've been recommended to make her work harder, not smarter. Kong wobbler or bob-a-lot are two that come up often.
DIY snuffle mats look so fun. I just spun a small towel like you do with a tie dye and put treats in the folds. I'll want a proper one soon.

Great video! Do think you've missed a step with the hide and slide tho. Same for the dog worked. You can only put treats in the round bits. That way they have to open the swivels, slide the round bits over the conpartments so the treats drop down, and slide them back out in order to get to the treats.

These are great toys. I hope to get a dog in the spring and am in the market for interactive toys and puzzles like these. My first dog, a poodle was a rescue. He was afraid of everything including toys. I didn't have the experience I do now but I still got him over most of that but I just didn't know how to get him to play with toys. My second rescue suffered from resource guarding and it took quite an effort to train that out of him. Toys weren't a priority because the food issue was severe at first. We made our way through that but by then he showed no interest in toys. If I had known then about all these types of puzzles and toys it might have gone more smoothly. Thank you for all these ideas. Love your videos.

Thanks for the vid. I adopted a Rottie a couple weeks ago and she's very smart, but she also gets bored easily lol. Puzzles should definitely fix that, and I appreciate the suggestions :)

Thank you for the great review! And I'm glad you included the info about the carrot patch… It's adorable but I am pretty sure it wouldn't work for my two Shih Tzu.

This is so great. Thank you so much for sharing these. One issue I have faced with a snuffle mat is she keeps chewing the strips off. Mine is a 6mo golden. I am guessing it will get better when she grows up. But any suggestions how to use a snuffle mat with a puppy who is still in the chewing stage?

Is it easy for the multi puzzle pieces to come out? Our Pomsky uses her paws a lot and I’m worried she would just pop the pieces out.

My pups use their paws a lot too and none of the MultiPuzzle pieces have come off for us! They mostly slide. The ones that usually pop off for us are pieces that lift. Hope that helps!

They are designed for them not to come off. I don't have heavy chewers or anything, but even the dog worker I rented only has bite marks in it. Obviously dogs have tried to break it, but haven't succeeded.

I didn't know they were levels and bought my cats a lv. 3 puzzle right away 😅 they figured it out after two hours tho.
Thanks for your reviews, I think I'm buying a sniffing mat too.

Do they make these pitty proof? My sweet baby girl would just destroy it and chew half of it up instead of working it out lol
