most if not all of the lepage products can be purchased in the US but they are sold under the brand "loctite". Same parent company "Henkel" but sold under different names. Also, Loctite's single component canned spray foam "Titefoam" I have found to be superior to great stuff. It seems far more dense and stiff when cured. Unfortunately I don't think the titefoam can be used with that spray foam gun you love so much.
I came to say this very same thing. When Jeff Thorman picked up the first tube of PL 300 and began talking about LePage, my first thought was that's LocTite PL from Henkel. Henkel also owns Dial soap, Pritt glues, Technomelt Adhesives, Schwarzkopf hair products, and Syoss cosmetics. *Don't mix these products together.*

My garage is made of steel metal sheets and the gabs and pockets of these metal sheets must be caulked to prevent cold air and moisture from frosting and sweating these walls with water droplets. I’m confused after watching your video about which top 2 or 3 products you wud recommend to caulk metal on metal in cold temperatures and let me know if the wet surfaces need to be dried before application. My garage has no heater & pls only recommend products that are available at RONA, Home Depot or Lowe’s, as these are my only store options.
Which one of these would you recommend for filling the hole where the ac pipes come into your house? I was hearing a whistling and found out that the old stuff broke off. I do live in a climate that gets cold with snow. Thanks for your help and all your knowledge!
It may be a bit niche but Vulkem 116 deserves a mention for being the best dang waterproofing exterior caulking I've ever come across. Messy as hell though. Maybe more of an RV thing though, where the demands of flexibility and durability are far greater. Anyway, loved the video!
Vulkem 116 wasn't mentioned in this video is because polyurethane doesn't last very long outdoors or in extreme conditions. More importantly, polyurethane becomes very brittle in the cold where Jeff Thorman and Home Renovations film. Silicone remains pliable, mold resistant, and UV resistant in temperature extremes both in the cold of Canada and in the heat here in the southern US. Otherwise, polyurethane is much cheaper, dries hard, and is great for sealing wood, masonry, and vinyl as well as adhering them to each other. Polyurethane is also a natural organic compound while silicone is a synthetic inorganic polymer.
As a professional painter I'd suggest a dripless caulking gun, the cradle type.yes that was one but you have to hit the thing at the end.. dripless guns stop automatically.. don't use the cutter if it has one, use a utility knife to get a good, clean 45 angle. especially applies when you're trying to do a bead, as he mentioned at the end,on an exterior project such as caulking siding.. if you're applying mastic adhesives it really doesn't matter then.. I love the idea of the removable nozzles.. the GE silicones you see in the big box stores don't have the removable nozzles anymore
Awesome video Jeff. When encountering old caulk in a home that's cracked and needs repair, do you suggest going over it with some new caulk or cutting it out and starting over? Even if it's just a small crack and everything else looks fine? I've got to seal up some spaces that are entry way for ants and the like.

Home RenoVision DIY I'm about to start renovating an entire house in Australia and it's Winter so the cornice has come away from the wall and I needed to purchase suitable silicon and a caulking gun #yourvideoperfecttiming
A lot to absorb. Will have to watch this again when I’m ready to do some caulking @/or sealing.
Your the best!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
My pleasure! Cheers!
Mr Thurman I got a question about what kind of sealant do you use in hot weather in Florida Miami Florida to seal the windows there's gaskets that are rotten do you have any can you tell me what to use when they caulking done or tell me how to do it

Glad it was helpful!
Great presentation
Jeff loading and unloading his caulking gun like it’s an AR15 😂
Practice safe caulking
Funny enough, Loading a caulk gun is a lot like loading a ps90 since the mags load from the top.
Very helpful, as always!
I’m in Michigan now but grew up on lepage products in northern Ontario.
more videos like this would be awesome!
More to come! Cheers!
Which one of these would you recommend for filling the hole where the ac pipes come into your house? I was hearing a whistling and found out that the old stuff broke off. I do live in a climate that gets cold with snow. Thanks for your help and all your knowledge!
I would use expansion foam, not any of these. "Great stuff" in a can.
Thank you. What would you use for attaching a soap, shampoo, dispenser to a shower wall?
Alex Plus in US says ( interior/exterior) , will that have the off gas that you were talking about for exterior caulking?
As a professional painter I'd suggest a dripless caulking gun, the cradle type.yes that was one but you have to hit the thing at the end.. dripless guns stop automatically.. don't use the cutter if it has one, use a utility knife to get a good, clean 45 angle. especially applies when you're trying to do a bead, as he mentioned at the end,on an exterior project such as caulking siding.. if you're applying mastic adhesives it really doesn't matter then.. I love the idea of the removable nozzles.. the GE silicones you see in the big box stores don't have the removable nozzles anymore
Thanks Jeff for your super informative video's sure helped me a lot.
I love it Jeff! Thank You!
Great video! He looks like he is changing the magazine on the 50 caliber 🤣🤣
Right on, what I would give to be able to shoot one of those bad boys!
Awesome video Jeff. When encountering old caulk in a home that's cracked and needs repair, do you suggest going over it with some new caulk or cutting it out and starting over? Even if it's just a small crack and everything else looks fine? I've got to seal up some spaces that are entry way for ants and the like.
In a world of turmoil, there is Home Renovision, teaching me about caulk, and cutting the tip off.
In America its called, circumcision.
L❤️VE your videos, Jeff! So informative and I always feel confident with your advice. You seem to have real world experience as a craftsman who does things right! You save me so much time as I improve my skills. Thank you! ! !
I don't know if I can handle this much caulk Jeff, it's a lot to take in.
Super, Super useful! Thank You Lots!
Which one is best for DIY mold making. I need a good low priced one that's 100% silicone and clear. Any suggestions?
I use the german fugi and tape sometimes when I caulk.
Jeff, first of all, thanks for your genius and dedication to your craft. All of the information is so simple and direct. Being a newbie to your channel, I'm not sure where put my question. forgive me if I have violated the code of utube. Have you done a video on filling nail holes in all of the various types moldings and trims? it seems that there are so many different ways to approach thi important prep steps to painting
I can't wait for that video!
What's the best sealant for Leeking gutters ? Thanks for your time 👍
