Great question fam. It used to be grassroots poetry. I truly believe the music has been subverted as part of COINTELPRO.
The Terrible music of today brought me here. Now I'm good.

We need to tell the kids that this is how to be a *true* leader of the new school.

@@dreday3987 not true.
How did we go from this to what we have now smh
What we have now isn't exactly new. What you hear now is an accumulation of what the earlier generations experimented with. Lord Infamous of 3/6 mafia is highly regarded as the father of what some would refer to as the Migos style. Lord Infamous credited Chuck D of Public Enemy as who he got the style from. Some of these newer weird/emo guys are even modified versions of PM Dawn. As far as the "rapid fire" beats go, it's Kurtis Mantronik on steroids. The roots of what has now become the new mainstream are planted deep in old Hip Hop, R&B, plus Hip Hop/R&B.
rgw1380rw that maybe true but the people u speak of had more morals
@@KrossKountry595 I wouldn't necessarily go as far as putting it that way because the 90's was very rough and rugged. We just had more of a variation of music being promoted through those popular mainstream platforms. You got more of a taste of everything on those tapes we'd record with the pause/record method.
Seeing Busta like this is very humbling. From looking like myself to a millionaire. Such hard work and dedication.
Charlie Brown, had that Rick Grimes vision
won't allow a Walker to get friendly ! 🔫
Played this the moment I got my first car. Classic 🔥
im only 19 , and this is why old school hiphop only !!!
🙋🏽♂️
Fun Fact:Chuck D of Public Enemy gave the group the name LEADERS OF THE NEW SCHOOL
Yep. It was between that and the young black teenagers.he also gave Busta and cbrown there names. Here's another fun fact that was really Busta s pathfinder. And that car marked the beginning of the end of lons.
Didn't know that
The 90’s time of gold 💯💯💯💯
these guys were straight early 90s 🔥
THIS SHOULD HAVE OVER 1,000,000 LIKES CLASSIC!! INSPIRATION REAL MUSIC FROM BACK IN THE DAY
Classic. The beat was so eerie but groovy at the same time. I love beats like that.
Yep, Produced by Eric "Vietnam" Sadler of the BOMB Squad
Yeah. The beats were soulful in the 90's.
Looking at the front door was another good eeiry sample beat
why does everyone just talk about busta?? this whole group was SICK
Dinco D was one of the most class, intelligent lyricists ever.
not superficial but complex, no veneer.
+CynicalBastard agreed
Charlie Brown was so good I want to cry because he never had a proper career.
brown became a bitch idk about dinco tho i love him
Please elaborate. I always thought Brown was the best member of the group - he was even the inspiration for my name!
Funny how them same hairstyles made a comeback in 2020 everybody wearing their hair like Busta that drop fade
It’s a good hairstyle
busta always rocked it best tho
This is one of the most underrated hip hop classics.
I love this song
Charlie Brown’s flow is immaculate
He was my favorite at first
I'm sitting here thinking the same thing! C Brown was nice!
yup
Nah
Man, this is so relatable. Once your ride is toast, you ain't got no friends.
Old school
still tuff today
A tale about the trails and tribulations of buying a car - so beautifully done!
One of the best produced and written songs of that era!
I grew up on Long Island, NY like Busta and remember this song quite vividly. That lyric "won't allow a walker to get friendly" really stung, because that was the story of my life in H.S. I was always trying to be friendly with the students who had cars... LOL
😂
Grew up right beside you in Rosedale😉
Method man and Busta in the 90s, were out of fucking control talented.
They had a blast shooting that video, u can tell!!
Dope
1:03 That's how I be when I'm blasting the golden age hip hop behind the wheel 😎
I'm a Charlie Brown fan. I wish they had carried on without Busta. Not dissing Busta, just saying that Charlie, Dinco, and Milo had great lyrical skills on their own.
For real. Brand Nubian did when Grand Puba went solo. And they survived and came back together. Smh
Me too.
dinco.bandcamp.com/album/dinco-d-d-j-shuttle-new-school-link
I disagree. It was all of over the place. They had no chemistry as a group. As soon as they disbanded they were dropped from the label. Those three never had as much as a guest appearance on another album. And when TIME came out, Milo was rapped and I thought he made the chemistry worse...

love seeing busta in his prime
A lot of times you'll hear people make excuses for how wack a rapper was and say he's young(Souljah Boy, etc), keep in mind Busta was 18 when they dropped this.
Shout out to all the members of the class of 1992. Its been thirty years since this classic dropped.

@@d.bluntt6699 Their last album was a masterpiece, and it broke them! Charlie Brown sounds like Charlie Parker's Horn in one song. Those guys were lyrical geniuses, but they could not get along!

The official song for brothers who had to walk & catch the bus before they got their own ride...LIKE ME! 🤣🤣
Innocence coupled with creativity = masterpiece not dumbed down by cursing, bad language, lewdness and nudity. Just raw musical talent. Nowadays artists just look strung out, oversexualised without the youthful fresh faced look of Busta n the others on here.
Man how I miss these days. My young black bothers dressed well, carried them selves with respect, and spoke intelligent complete English. The absence of true hip hop is why our youth is so lost.
Yes indeed bro. Great times.
Did they spell brothers correctly back then?
What an idiotic comment. Did you pay 290 clowns to thumb it up?

Charlie B simply killed this shit man
For some reason this song popped into my head this morning. Leaders of the New School was so underrated. I loved them back in the 90's. Busta was obviously good, but I loved Charlie Brown's rap style. Leaders of the New School, Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul...that was a great super group when they got together to do songs.
Yeah man, LONS were amazing. Rocked both of their albums to death. I always loved Charlie Brown's style as well, he had so much colour and flavour in his vocals.
