Just got the TTI has my first Canik pistol. So excited for this one. Showed up to the range and the lane on the side of me told me there TTI’s had both failed. Needless to say I shot mine, and experienced about 15% failures. I shoot for a living and have never seen so many issues with pistol model that is supposed to be prized on quality.
What's occurring is failure to return to battery. Sometimes so slight, that you can barely tell the slide is not in full battery. I field-stripped mine. I noticed the polymer was slightly too high at the rear of the frame, near/above the beavertail area. I used a fine nail file and lightly sanded down the polymer just a small amount. I then felt the entire frame looking for raised areas, and rough areas on the black polymer. When I found them, I very lightly sanded them as well. Cleaned, lubed and re-assembled. 1,000 rounds later, not a single failure with 18 or 21-round factory mags.
That could be but I have never had an issue with my grip even though some people don’t like it. I have several awards that say my grip works for me. I’ve been shooting for over 22 years and have never had issues with any of my guns. Everyone who this gun had, I was actually the last guy to experience issues with this gun and was in denial. Got mine the Tuesday the first batch showed up in our town ... I think it was April 23. The gunshop manager and I both bought one and took them straight to the range. Tons of battery problems. We took them home and cleaned them and went back on Wednesday and they were a little better ... it would occasionally run. Seemed to be if I pinned the trigger it would never go into battery. Sent them back to Canik Thursday that same week. Just got mine back and it has a NOTICEABLY stiffer recoil spring and maybe trigger spring. It was there about 9 weeks for those waiting on yours... I'll take it out tomorrow and see if it will run. When it did run it is NOT as flat shooting as my G45 with the Radian afterburner. I have a couple Harrington Arms comps on a CZ and Daggers and this feels close to that. I had high hopes but my Steel Rival shoots flatter with a better trigger.
@@LeadslingerOutdoors I'm still waiting on a damn replacement after waiting on a fixed one, process is now in the months and they flat out said it would be much faster to replace it than the typical 4-6 week repair time. They said "just haven't had a chance to pull one off the line." Week later "............" They just keep closing support tickets lol I can also confirm my custom glock 17 runs far, far better. CZ Shadow 2 is not even comparable it's so much better.
It came back and is better but not perfect … it still wouldn’t go into battery a couple times out of a hundred rounds. Maybe 5% of the time. I’m going g to clean it and run it to see if it gets better … lucky for me it’s a range toy but I WOULD NOT recommend it if your life depends on it. Guess there is a reason I’ve never seen a police in our country with a Canik.
Mine is also failing to return. Sent a video to canik failing multiple times and they have been fighting me telling me it’s my grip not the gun. I am an RSO and a firearms instructor.
All David is prior military (Marines) and law enforcement, I have over 22 years law enforcement shooting multiple platforms, Homer is law enforcement and we all had problems with TTI Combat. None of us have had problems with our grip. Canik needs to figure out the problem and fix it.

Got the TTI the day it was releases along with the manager of my local gunshop. we went to the range together that day and shot the first two in our town and both were having return to battery problems. Mainly when you pinned the trigger to the rear. Immediately sent them back to Canik and just got mine back with a much stiffer recoil spring. I'll test it tomorrow and see ...
Five different shooters had malfunctions with the same gun. We just showed one that was recorded. We shot this gun before and after the recording and that's how we knew there was an issue with it. Thanks for commenting an update and coming soon.
I'm training for competition, I know how to use a gun lmfao. I sent mine in without even firing it because it couldn't cycle fucking FMJ's without jamming. I have pictures.

Bought one for $1000 Heavily defective, wouldn't even cycle ammo regardless of the type. Light strikes, jams, failure to return to battery. Canik is happy to give you a RAN # and a fedex print out to mail it in for repairs, except they mail it back claiming it was test fired and it was still fucked the fuck up bad. So, very displeased we request a refund, they offer a replacement. Our FFL dealer is still waiting for it... even though they said it would be fast, this process has been going on for months... ZERO enjoyable range time for the $1,100+ invested (grabbed a couple extra extended mags before they mailed back a defective gun, now I'll never buy anything from Canik again) As for it being "snappy" and "smooth" ... just, no. It's a modified glock for all intensive purposes. Make sure to subscribe & like / comment guys... these guns are not cheap and this hobby cannot fail!
@@LeadslingerOutdoors Don't expect a tracking number on the return, either. Requires a signature yet they don't even give you a tracking number. They swapped the spring on my dads, might have touched up the barrel lip/throat a bit and it reduced the number of issues but it still had A LOT. Repaired one that wasn't repaired was mailed in two weeks ago, they said it would be really fast - we keep checking with our local FFL and they haven't heard anything from them since they sent them a copy of their FFL. They actually had the nerve to say "We just haven't taken one off the line yet." and it's been over a week since then. Very disappointing, and expensively so. My custom glock 17 runs so much better, and my dad grabbed a CZ Shadow 2 Compact and that thing is a work of art that won't fail. I wanted to use this in competition. Now I'll be lucky to get one that works.
I bought two of these. Both have serious failure to return to battery issues. Tried multiple ammos, two recoil springs, cleaned and lubed, still malfunctions 15% of the rounds. They should have fixed this known defect in advance. Now they try to blame it on customers “limp wristing” the gun. I have no problem with my other caniks, glocks, staccato, etc. Shame on you Canik!
Same issues with mine it was damaging rounds as it was going into battery! Sent it back it was ejecting shrapnel from the port was landing on my arm! Tried multiple brands of ammo same thing with each brand!
I’m on my 5th Canik. The first 3 needed some break in, about 400 rounds. No problem after that. I got about 60 rounds through my TTI so far. No problem at all.

SENT IT BACK AFTER HAVING IT AT THE RANGE TWICE Canik received my pistol May 6th. I've called and they say the gunsmiths have not looked at it yet. I asked for a new one and they say the gunsmith has to see it first. they received my gun May 6th, today is the 27th, i still have no idea when i will get it back. they have been nice, but I want a new gun. I have guns that cost half the price that have never ever misfired. it's a smooth shooter when it fires but i have no trust in this for self-defense. needless to say, I'm very pissed off and disappointed. paid 1k for a hammer. maybe i could throw it at someone. I want this gun to work, see what happens. ive had others shoot it with the same results with different ammo. cleaned it lubed it only got worse. Every other round misfired!!!! Piece of shit till proven otherwise in my book
The Canik we have isn't that bad but after 30 rounds it will malfunction about once every 10 rounds. Canik has said that they have come up with a new spring and that should fix the problem. We are waiting for them to set up our account so that we can send ours in to get checked. Hope you get a new gun, or they resolve your problems. Keep us updated on what they decide with your gun. Shit my TTI surprised the shit out of me. 500 rounds zero issues taking 21 shots groupings size of my fist several through the same 3 or 4 holes. It likes to run for sure. What’s funny some issues UA-camrs have spoke of is wrist & hand placement. Just like a kid getting into baseball. You lets them practice by themselves with no correction of mechanics they will develop issues that’s hard to coach out of. You tubers get use to randomly shooting for the camera shot paying zero attention to mechanics & bad habits. Then they argue gun is a pos just not wanting to admit possible shooter errors. Sometimes it can be shooter & other times simple ammo selection & of course it could be the gun. There is an old saying tho never buy a 1st year of anything because issues will rise. That saying dates back to when materials weren’t cheap made.
just wanted to leave this review, i bought the cankik tti combat on saturday and shot it today! Put about 150 rnds thru it ! 124 grain range ammo. My stepson bought one too same day shot with me same amount of ammo. Both of us, not a single issue! Shot like a dream! I was concerned because i hadnt seen any of the issue videos until after i bought it lol! So was nervous but not a single issue! Love it oh and bought an HK vp9 compact as well shot that one too no issues love that one too ;)
There are a lot of TTI Combats that didn’t have any issues. Glad to hear yours was a good one. After, getting it back from Canik we have not had any issues. The new spring they sent back sucks. Watch our last video on the Canik to see how it does.
He got home from buying it and sent about 20 rounds through it. Cleaned it good after that. We shot it a bit while filming another video and had a lot of malfunctions. Then he cleaned it again and we only had 1 malfunction during this video.

Just got mine back from Canik and it has a much stiffer recoil spring ... will go try it tomorrow. Mine sucked and couldn't shoot half a mag without failure to battery. I got the first one that came to our town. Mine was sent back like April 25th I believe. I got it the Tuesday they showed up and sent it back that Thursday.
I've got a Canik Mete SFT and the only times I've had malfunctions were from me over loading the magazine (somehow I can fit 19-20 rounds in those 18 round magazines). I use 124 gr for practice ammo and 147 Gr hollow points for carry. Like the other person said, hopefully it breaks in well for ya'll I love my SFT
I was having major issues with my slide not returning to battery as well. I have since changed my grip and started really concentrating on locking my wrists and shooting flat. And honestly ive had no more issues. Even with 115 grain. Maybe once or twice but i also caught myself reverting back to my loose grip at that time. So i think the problem was me.. BUT ive never had any issues with my glocks at all... ever.

Had a Canik TP9 SFX for a short while, was a decent shooter with no issues

The malfunction at 10:52 is 100% shooter caused. Don't know how the gun doesn't fall out of his hands when he's shooting...

Ours has been there for about 5 weeks supposedly repairs have been done but I haven’t heard anything in a week

I had the same issue. First 500 rounds through it and every 2-4 shots, failure to return to full battery.
Me too ever shot it wouldn't return to battery! I contacted canik and the sent me a new High proformance spring and it runs fine now.

FYI buy an extended mag 35$ so if you can’t get the mag out this won’t be a problem anymore

I guess I'm fortunate as well. Zero issues at 800 rounds. Perhaps there are some different production batches in circulation.

Did you clean it before you shot it like the manual recommended? They are coated with an anti rust coating not lubrication. Clean and lube it.

Yes we cleaned it and no we didn’t replace any components.

My RTB issues were 100% resolved by clipping 1 1/2 coils from the extractor spring. Several hundred rounds after doing this and zero malfunctions.
you have to use 124 grains.
We used CCI lawman 124 also

We’ve shot plenty of guns and no issues so we just think it’s hard to say it’s our grip. Mine had been there about a week.
