Damn near the only person on UA-cam with 3C locs, glad to have found your channel. Just started mine yesterday with 3b, 3c hair, started comb coils but lord I have like 145 comb coils rn 😅 I didn’t want that many but that’s what the loctician gave me 🤷🏽♀️ (we’ll see if I keep those or comb them out & get them bigger, no idea). Also as a Libra Moon I totally understand the indecisiveness, awesome to see you stuck with em 💫
I’m 3c as well and retwist with this hair type can be a lot… you might wind up combing some of yours, or prepare to spend most of the day rewtisting if you don’t let a professional do it for you… enjoy your journey, this will be the absolute best hair experience you’ll have. NOTHING prepares you for locks, it even braids✌🏾
I’m almost 1 year too 🎉 I have 4a to 4c and my hair shrunk so much! Went from tailbone length to just below my shoulder so yeah it was rough hanging on for a while but now I LOVE them. I miss my loose hair but it feels good to know I can always ✂️ and get them back with time. I got over 120 locs and I don’t personally like my ends curly.
I am so ready for my length to come back but I also know that I will miss this bob stage. Having hair is so tough 😂 do you self maintain your locs or do you go to a loctician?
We have the same texture and my starter coils look similar to how yours looked when you got your coils. Just started mine 4/29/2023. How did you maintain your coils, and how often did you oil your scalp? I love your locs, congratulations 🎉
Hey Najah! Welcome to the community. I pretty much just left them alone the first 3 months. Then I started styling them with spiral ties (www.yourlocmuse.com) so in the beginning I would oil my scalp three times a week but I have realllllly dry scalp so I had to really get it under control with locs. Now I use a dandruff shampoo and I really only oil twice a month!
@@Jasminshecrai thank you I’m super excited ☺️…. That’s my plan leave them alone…I’m gonna do barrel twists for the first 3-4 months and re-twist around every 5 weeks. I oil my scalp every other day with a homemade oil blend…did you do barrels? Do you think it’ll cause breakage or thinning?
I love your hair so beautiful we have the same hair texture thank you for this 🙏🏼 question I’m a mnth in with my loc journey do you think I can do a color rinse ?

Thanks for watching! I personally would wait until 4 months to do a rinse but it’s your preference.
