Two masters at work! Couldn't ask for a better video! Great work👍
What a star studded crew. The axe is wonder. I really like the treatment of the handle. Torbjorn's arrival was terrific.
My favorite part of blacksmithing is working with a friend. Having a striker and learning how to communicate what and how to do. Its such a fun and giving experience.
1) I am jealous you get to be friend with Torbjorn. 2) I really respect that you filed the axe profile when you had a huge belt grinder (I would have filed it too) and 3) I think you’re extremely brave to buff an edge with an angle grinder.
Truly delightful to watch the synergy between people forging together!
I started carpentry with hand tools a few years ago. I never expected to do so much work with axe/hatchet: shaping stool/bench legs, roughing out all sorts of things, splitting wide boards, etc. Even hewing short logs to make benches. My tool is too soft to hold an edge for long and too thick to chop with little effort. I was just thinking how nice it'd be to invest in a quality tool like this one when you said you'd be giving it away. I hope it goes to someone who will get a lifetime of delightful use from it!
It always a treat to see both of you working together!
Torbjorn wire brushing his anvil when his phone rang is probably the most underrated joke of the century
It never ceases to amaze me how blacksmiths turn lumps of metal into the most useful and versatile tools. I love watching such videos.
Very nice cooperation. Thorbjorn's arrival was super arranged. More videos like this.👍
Torbjorn to the rescue! This is an awesome collaboration! I love how he zoomed over! Great looking axe! Wonderful video Nils ❤🔥🪓
No job I know of is harder with two people. Thanks for showing us your struggles. Makes me feel better about struggling while trying to accomplish something by myself.
I really appreciate the craftsmanship you both share, it’s an ancient art but it’s not antiquated!
My good friend, Michael, was a remarkable forger. I would have shared this with him; but, sadly, he has passed.
Thank you both. 🙂
I generally work alone, but you've inspired me to find a blacksmith friend with whom I can work and laugh together. Great video.
Great to watch mates having fun in the shed creating memories.
What a wonderful craftmansship of two skilled blacksmiths! Amazing work!
Great work for the both of you! Love to see my two fav blacksmiths in youtube working together again
Using tools to make tools, well done to you both. Beautiful piece, who ever receives that will hopefully utilize it for its intended purpose.
It is great watching two talented craftsmen working together. Thanks for sharing this with us.
15:02 It is absolutely mesmerizing watching tools appear from a block of steel! Thanks to the both of you for sharing your craft.
I wish I had such friends that come so quick when I call them
As do I. But I'm the friend they all call. 🤷🏻♀️

😮
Unfortunatly Nick never answered the call to receive the axe, so I had to pick another winner:
simon myers
If I dont hear from him/her I will pick another winner in 7 days
The giveaway will end 1st September. I will then ask the winner here in the comment section to contact me via email.
The winner will be selected randomly!
Good luck :)

Two of my favourite blacksmiths forging an beautiful axe together... woud really like to own this axe. I hope I am the lucky one! I am already waiting for your next videos 😊
Sign me up for the axe. Thanks for the video.
Great video! ive been making small knives and decorative pieces for a while but want to break into axe forging. How well does 1045 hold up durability wise over time? I'd imagine using somethin low carbon for the head and then forge welding 1080 or 1095 for the blade would be longer lasting no?
gimme gimme!
Wonderful piece for sure. Throw my name in the hat please sir.
Just recently found your channel after researching some axes I found metal detecting. Started with restoring others’ work and now finding the inspiration from your videos to slowly step into the forging world. Thanks for the great content and keeping the craftsmanship alive! In a world of mass production, it’s extremely refreshing to see you and others do what you do.
nothing like watching phenomenal craftsmen create a wok of functional art.
Hadde vært kult å fått denne øksen over grensen til Norge😁 du lager en kjempe bra kanal👍🏻
your video came up as a suggestion, and I had to watch as my Grandfather was a blacksmith, as well as a builder, carpenter and farmer, he was a true pioneer here in Australia. loved watching your work, and seeing the finished product.
My favorite Blacksmith team 💙

That scene of the friend coming over was so cinematic
This has been a great channel to find. I go to The American College of the Building Arts (ACBA), which is a school for traditional trades such as blacksmithing. On the other hand, I am a timber framer and have made many friends with my blacksmithing classmates, who recommend me to Torbjorn and your channels. They have been a joy to watch.
