2014: Ridley is too big.

I thought Nintendo Unity knew that already. Sakurai didn't want to add Ridley because he was too big.

The characters' sizes are altered so the game is playable. If the sizes were realistic, Olimar/Alph would be a single pixel.
And also Ridley could pretty much cover the entirety of almost every stage in like 3-4 seconds.
Pikachu it's just 0.4m, Captain Falcon knee is taller.

What doesn’t makes sense is that they used Goldeen instead of Magikarp.
They forgot to give the everstone to magikarp which made the fish into gyarados. The only unevolved low level fish pokemon they had is goldeen, so they forced the tiny fish to flop on the ground instead

Samus weighs more because they were lazy with her design... give get mediocre attacks that barely make sense and a big gun make her floaty but heavy. I envision her more like the pit (s) with grapples for close combat and fast movement. Remember the suit improves her abilities not hinders them. They make zss seem like she is better without the suit...
Also, olimar shouldn't be able to drown. Dude's wearing a space suit with a life support system, just like samus
As Pikmin 1 shows, he has limited air supply =b it just should take him 30 days to drown. Also, he can't swim, since you blow up if you reach the bottom, it makes since you'd exhaust yourself to stay on top. This is made worse for Samus, as her armour is far more heavy than Olimar's spacesuit.

@@kirbyisgod703 technically a lot of characters in this game can breath under water indefinitely in their games. Plus, she isn't wearing her Gravity suit, she's wearing the Varia suit.

3:14 *Debunked* Little mac having one of the best wall jumps in the game actually makes sense considering that boxers push the floor with their legs while punching to increase the strength of their blows. Ideally this is also the reason why Little Mac's running speed is very fast (because of leg power) and it also serves to increase his recovery options.

Still why chrom fighting himself? He would fade from existance so fighting himself from either past or future makes no sense.
This is a game where you can have an 8 way ditto, why is anyone surprised by chrome being part of a final smash as well as a character?
Doubt the timeline came to their mind here. They probably forgot about Robin's Final Smash, when reworking Sm4sh into Ultimate.
The first one actually DOES make sense.
Squirtle is a reptile while Greninja is an amphibian. Neither have gills.
Water pokemon can breath underwater smartass
If we want to get technical, some turtles can absorb oxygen through blood vessels around their butt while in water, if the oxygen content is high enough they can stay underwater indefinitely. Amphibians can also absorb oxygen, whether outside water or in water, through their skin, if oxygen content is high enough they too can stay underwater indefinitely. Also, amphibians have gills while tadpoles, and some such as the axolotl keep their gills through adulthood.
But these are Pokemon and I'm nitpicking.
A lot of them make sense actually, when it comes down to it. This whole video was very infuriating for me to watch lol

Indeed. Characters like Olimar and Pichu would be incredibly hard to hit due to how small they actually are in their games, and Ridley would cover up a huge chunk of the stage.

Not really. I know a lot of times in fantasy, big swords are treated as these hulking heavy things, but that would be too slow and unusable. Even claymores, which were as big you can get, we're only a little over 5 pounds at most.

Luigi being unable to wall jump makes sense in that whenever he is a unique character (rather than just a skin for Mario), he can't. For example, each character in Mario 64 for the Nintendo DS introduces yoshi, mario, wario, and luigi as four playable characters, and each has their own unique ability. Mario's unique power is that he's the only one that can walljump
If you're gonna complain about sizes why not bring up how Olimar is 100x bigger than he actually is in the Pikmin games

0:44 That makes sense, because the Young Link in Smash is based off the one from Ocarina of Time, not Majora's Mask. Notice how everything he uses (e.g. Kokiri Sword, Bow, Hookshot) all use their Ocarina of Time design, not their Majora's Mask one.

For the ones who don't know about pikmin, the game takes place on planet earth however olimar isn't from there he is from another planet the thing is that for him a pencil is a spear and fruits ,for example, are giant to him however they are normal size for humans (humans seem to be exist in the games) so that implies he is super small and so pikmin are

It actually kinda makes sense why Ridley is lighter than Samus. Ridley likely has hollow bones like birds Because he can fly a bit. Samus is wearing a heavy metal suit and other tech that would weigh her down

Base stats can Change counting on your pokemon's Nature, so it must be a Naive Pikachu and a Brave Lucario
Stats can also change as a result of Ev’s or Iv’s, so their speeds actually make a fair amount of sense.
They could also just be different levels
Or, you know, Pikachu runs in all fours while Lucario runs like a human.

Luigi is unable to wall jump because in super Mario 64 DS Mario was the only character capable of wall jumping
They had to give Mario a gimmick like the other characters. Luigi can wall jump in the galaxy games too. And some of the characters in the roster aren't supposed to wall jump or don't even jump in their game yet they can in Smash...
Wall-jumping was introduced to Smash in Melee, which came before Super Mario 64 DS. The reason Luigi can't wall-jump is because he couldn't do so in any game prior to Melee's release.

Luigi already has better vertical and horizontal recovery options than Mario in smash ultimate, he doesn't need a wall jump as well

I actually think it’s good for Mac to have one of the strongest wall jumps. Grappling is a big thing in boxing and all forms of fighting really.
Mewtwo’s final smash psystrike hurts incineroar even though he is part dark type. Also his robot armor should be an alternate skin.

1: Young Link doesn’t use the Fierce Deity Mask because he’s based on his appearance in Ocarina of Time, not Majora’s Mask.
2: Luigi not being able to wall jump is probably a reference to Super Mario 64 DS, where Mario was the only playable character with the ability to wall jump.
3: You used Star Fox Assault to show that Wolf is faster. However, the Fox and Wolf in Ultimate are the ones from Zero, not Assault. We don’t know whether the Zero version of Wolf is faster than Fox or not.
4: Speed in pokemon is used to determine which Pokémon attacks first. So it’s really speed in terms of both distance speed and reaction time. Lucaro is probably slower distance-wise, but has better reaction speed.
5: Ridley is generally bigger than Samus. However, he was the same size as Samus in Metroid 1.
WideMouth Young Link uses aspects from both Ocarina of Time and Majorca’s Mask, and this with Fox and Wolf even applied in Brawl when it was the versions of the characters that they’re not in Ultimate.

He has hollow bone to help him fly, and he is skinny as sin
Charizard is far more thick than ridley =b which is why Ridley is in Heavy Weight. Also, metal is way more heavy then bird/reptile bone, so it makes since he'd be around the same weight as Samus at the size he was scaled down to.
Ridly never came across as a tanky character to me. He’s a big buff boy for sure but he’s also fast and in this iteration of him slender and boney.
Also Charizard is taller than Little Mac, despite both having 1,70m in their games

@GenoOfErrors 17 Peach should fight Giga Bowser to with the theme of fighting against kidnappers and Sheik should fight Galleom to go with the theme of fighting masked opponents.

Snake is a combination of all the playable Snakes throughout the MGS series so having a move from Venom makes sense.
Also I dislike that they nerfed Zero Suit Samus’ because her chest was supposedly too big for an athletic girl but years later adds Mythra and makes her ballistics the size of her head.
Extra Young link does not play the ocarina in any of his taunts

Well, the thing with the height of Lucina is, she IS shorter than Chrom (you can tell by looking closely at the squares) but she's also constantly tiptoeing, which in and of itself is inaccurate, she actually digs her feet a little, that is on a diferent fighting environment and style though. Kinda like comparing fencing to UFC mixed with wrestling
Also, this is smash Bros, the point of fighting Master hand is that they're not in their worlds, the BOSS are the hands, it actually doesn't make sense that some fighters won't face them at the end

I felt the same way about the Koopalings and the final smash, but since all of them are just reskins of Bowser Jr. it was just easy not to change it.
One thing they could've done is make Roy's final smash him using the paint cannon he uses in Paper Mario: Color Splash

Little Mac wall jump makes sense. If you’re a boxer you have to have strong everything not just upper body, good core and leg workouts can help you jump higher l, and have stronger legs.

Magikarp actually evolves into an usable pokemon and goldeen stays trash even when it evolves. I think even if goldeen can actually learn other moves, it still is outclassed by magikarp and magikarp learns tackle and bounce so it can use normalium Z and flynium Z and also gets Z splash

Other things:
-Toon Link cannot crawl even though he crawls in the Wind Waker.
-Villager, already having one the the best recoveries, can walljump, despite not being able to jump in any Animal Crossing.
-Ness having to use PK Thunder as his recovery even though he can teleport in Earthbound.
-The majority of Ness and Lucas' special attacks and Final Smashes being taken from their home series party members, despite them having their own specialty and PK moves (PK Love, PK Rockin', PK Hypnosis, etc.)
-Pichu is the lightest character even though Jigglypuff is a balloon and Game and Watch has only two dimensions.
-Incineroar has the slowest dash, despite being quite fast in his game.
-Mewtwo is one of the lightest characters in Smash even though he's very heavy in Pokemon games.
-Isabelle and Olimar/Alph have voice clips in their respective series, yet none in Smash.
Incineroar isn't fast at all in Pokemon games. He only has 60 base speed, which is bad.
Cloud cant hold his Limit even thou he can hold it forever in FF7.
The samus weighing more than Ridley one actually makes some sense because samus is wearing a giant metal suit filled with electronics and weapons while Ridley is flesh and blood with a metal(?) tail.
A lot of this is honestly pretty silly nitpicking about things that are entirely irrelevant

At the Lucario and Pikachu speed part, I was going to say that at Level 100, EV's and IV's affect the final Speed value so it doesn't mean that they have the same speed stats. I looked it up, and they actually do both have a 90 Base Speed stat.
Either way, what you said is right. It's only for who moves first or acts first, not necessarily run speed.
Or just impossbile to swim since they spend most of their time under water, they should swim so well they wouldn't go down.
2:56 actually, in Fire Emblem the Speed stat refers to the speed at which they attack (the speed at which their moves come out) and movement is more akin to running speed. (Hence why armoured units in FE can have low movement but be very fast.
Speed =/= Movement
Proanyk - same goes for pokemon. Speed refers attack order of the battle, not movement.

To prove my point, there are pokemon who carry speed stats that do not match their speed of movement, such as Electrode being a speed demon in game despite only being able to roll around in the anime, or Aerodactyl despite only being able to fly around like a bird, or even Suicune being slow af in game but in the movies we see that Suicune is extremely quick to travel very long distances. So my point still stands, speed stat ≠ movement speed.

Things like character sizes for villains make sense. They need to shrink certain characters so they don’t feel wrong in the game. If characters like K. Rool, Ridley, and Bowser were there actual size they’d be to big for the game. Same goes for smaller characters like Kirby, Pichu, and Olimar, they’d be almost untouchable by most of the cast
The hands is a super smash thing, all the characters face the hands because that’s the spirit of smash bro’s, a pair of hands playing w figurines on a table in a kids room
