I put 400,000 Miles on my 1984 S-15 GMC with the 2.8 L engine .... Replaced 5-6 sets of Cap and Rotor and Plugs and wires...5-6 Clutches (without flywheel or pressure plate most the time)... 3 transmissions... 3 starters... 2 Alts... 1 fuel tank... 1 engine fuel pump... 1 carb (take off from new from uncles propane truck with same 2.8 engine)... steering brakes tires etc all repaired as needed... Repainted like a Show Truck 1989... TRUCK was parked still Running engine never did blow up BUT wore out and RUSTED.... Secret is STRONG SPARK Clean OIL AIR and FUEL and Oil Ads like LUCAS when engine is older... I was 18-19 and drove it Hard like a Race Car when I bought the Truck off my Dad about 86-87 Alberta Canada... Kolors Autobody

I have a 1984 Chevy s-10 2.8. I’m trying to put the engine fan back to original. [Has electric fan, damaged in fender bender] is the fan just attached directly to the pully or does it have a clutch fan?

Mine is directly attached to the water pump pulley with about a 1-inch spacer on it the fan is also about one in.

DougL Thanks, that’s helpful. I just need a fan and spacer then. We gotta keep theses trucks on the road.

Did you keep TBI or go for the Carb? I'm think about going from 2.8 to 4.6.
