It's discontinued bro, no software updates/support from Samsung anymore. I lost more than my note 7 because of this too but there is no point using it anymore
I would still have mine except for two things, I have a child and the risk is too high that he would get hurt(he uses my phones) and the fact that I dropped it(less than a foot off the ground mind you) and it shattered so this allowed me to get a new phone without paying for it. Still love the Note 7 and will miss the S pen
That is why I refused to buy the GS6 and GS7 but bought a new unlocked GS5! lol That and when I bought my GS5 the GS7 had not been revealed so I had no idea it would be water resistant and I needed that feature so got the GS5 as it is ip67 water resistant and has a microSD slot plus removable battery. This is ridiculous I paid almost a thousand bucks for this phone. i dont want an iPhone, Google pixel or a S7 edge. there is no phone on the market comparable to the Note 7. why should I or anyone else go pay 7 hundred dollars for a phone WE DON'T WANT. IAF Su-30 MKI [Air Dominance Fighter] The Note line is always on par with the Galaxy S line. So it wouldn't make sense if the S7 was out and the Note 6 was out..
That's what happen when you don't want to provide phone with removable batteries. It would have been so much easier to resolve the issue if they had the removable batteries.
Yea, I didn't get what he meant by sweeping it under the rug. They announced (fairly quickly) to stop using and replace their phones. and when it turned out the replacement phones weren't 100% okay, they issued out a notice to stop using it and offered full refunds. All this in a relatively short period of time. hardly sweeping it under the rug.
yeah. i hate his review the most. Every his review is the worst 1 among all in android authority. why android authority let him join the team? he just ruining the team.
They're never getting this phone back...PHONE IS FIRE literally..I never had issue with phone..how come display model at store still at mobile haven't exploded yet and it's on charger all day...
***** I had a come up so this one I have which is a dual sim is Free of Charge so honestly I dont have anywhere I could send it to but I wouldnt if I had to. Best advice for you if you paid for it return it just in case so you wont be out your cash
Running theory from those who know a bit about USB TYPE-C connectors is, as long as you do not cheap out on the cable, you "MAY" be fine. Google USB TYPE-C there is an engineer that tested many cables, if you need a replacement or second one, follow his advice on cables.
XD I imagine. I'm kind of glad I got the Note 5 instead of the note 7... Though I am still a little worried my Note 5 will explode haha. It gets rather hot to the point where I can't touch it while it's charging. Unless I use a case, then I can use it just fine.
Jonathan Elliott that's the shitty snapdragon 810 in it, my s6 does heats up reallyy bad and that will cause cpu throttling and battery depletion which mine does alot, I'm done with Samsung as soon as I pay off this s6 going straight back to Apple
Taylor Lance Yeah I'm either gonna try a new Android phone, or go back to iPhone not really a fan boy of either as long as my phone is stable and apple is getting a bit better, I've learned my lesson with Samsung sure they have tons of features but the issues I've had outweigh the benefits
jason freeman So far the Note 5 isn't too bad. Aside from it getting hot when charging, but I hear that's just because of fast charging. The phone does stutter a little bit here and there but performs most takes, even gaming rather well. I've only had one instance of intense lag which required me to do a hard reset.
I would like o to know the cause of the fires. was the new design similiar to or same as current models or was it a new design internally. was it housing grounding or board issues. etc.
They probably packed the phone with too much tech while also trying to save money on batteries... Anyway I'm super upset about it and had to choose another phone :( (still Samsung cause I'm gonna support them)
+OfelieArt funny, 7 is my favourite number and I was really looking forward to have the note 7.. ): I was originally going to buy s7 edge when it came out but I decided to wait and see what Samsung would do about the next note, in hope they'd mix note with edge.. and when they finally did, all the bad things happened ): I went back to s7 edge because yeah, I also want to support them..
From what i've heard it wasn't the batteries, but the hardware that regulates how much electricity that goes into the battery^ And this was apparantly provided by a 3rd party company.
Fearzzy The PMIC chip is always engineered by other companies. And if you look at burnt note 7, it is always on the left side where the battery is located. If its the PMIC, there would probably be at least some burnt marks on the board right?
I think the note 7 failure is actually beneficial to the android market as a whole. it will loosen up Samsung monopoly on the Android market and strengthen competition, which in turn is beneficial to end end user
How is note 7 failure affect samsung's dominance? That's one phone and the most expensive . Samsung makes about. .......how many? I don't know of any other oem who makes a phablet with a stylus that's even nearly as good. If other oems want dominance let them step up to the plate.
Are they not refunding for the accessory products in the US? Because I had no trouble getting a full refund for all of my accessory products and the note 7 in Australia, and they also gave credits/cash cards to customers depending on whther they were contracted or outright purchases.
On the contrary, I think Samsung handled the situation rather well. They acknowledged that there was a problem and provided a fix but that didn't work so they called back all phones and even sent users fireproof boxes to repack their phones back in. Samsung's president has even apologized to the public regarding the issue. This is much better than how apple handled the Error 53, which they refused to acknowledge at first and also the touch disease which they still haven't.
OtavioFesoares I'm just kind of reluctant... I really liked the AMOLED, wireless charging, and Iris scanner from the Note, but I guess the Quad DAC, removable back, and dual camera could be nice
i phone 7plus is nothing infront of v 20, iphone 7plus have 5.5 inch screen and is big as v 20 , v20 5.7 inch and better display ..... note 7 was the best looking and performing but sadly it didn't stayed for that long
Why does the best galaxies has to be the one that doesn't last and always messes up I had the galaxy S7 edge and all of a sudden out of the blue my screen blacked out and now I'm hearing about the note 7 this makes me want to switch to iPhone 7
That's one of the reasons why apple didn't wan't to switch to oled, because the pixels die from heavy usage. And that's why they are developing a micro led display to avoid all the negatives of oled but also provide benefits.
what I called them about was the fact that they have this UHD hdmi color feature that designed to turned on when you connect a 4k source but has no hdcp2.2 and the one port that has hdcp2.2 doesn't has have this uhd hdmi color feature
We all know why this is happened. It is because they want to compete with iPhone 7. So they rushed the production of this model. Now samsung learnt the hard way. Instead of losing a few bucks, now you guys are losing more than $1 Billion That is huge a mount of money. Also, because of this, you guys lose quite of number of customers and users. If only you take more time with this phone before release it, might probably this won't happen. At least it won't happen this bad. Take note Samsung. GET YOU SHIT TOGETHER..!! I still believe in you.
@Mark Daniel Espiritu Your statement is the ridiculous one buddy. So you want to push your product just to make sure that your next model will be released on the same date as the previous model? or only release it when the phone is ready? . Anything that are this big should only be released when they are ready. I agree with him. He is suggesting that only release it once it is ready. It is very clear the phone is not 100% ready yet. It is like you are saying eventhough the device is not ready, it should be release ASAP because we want to make sure the gap between Note 5 and 7 is 1 year. You are an idiot buddy.
It is really a sad ending for the Galaxy Note 7. It is such a fantastic phone in many aspects. I think this issue was blown out of proportion and amplify under the spotlight.
The issue I’m having letting go of my note 7 is, the LG V20 is not available for another 2 weeks. If I were to go back to the iPhone, I wouldn’t get a handset until December. I don’t want to settle for an older phone for a year so what are my options? Live on in the edge. YoLO.
Just wondering, once you guys get a hands on with the phone, how long does it take for you guys to make a phone review video? do you guys have to wait till the release date or you guys get one from the event? Thanks.
out of 3 to 4 million note 7s sold worldwide, only around 110 of them were faulty so the chance of yours blowing up is not even 1%. Just saying the risk is low
Devin Macklin I'm with you it's just apple getting back at Samsung for the early month release of the God Phone and now apple is making it crystal clear about it but Samsung is bigger than apple they'll think of something
Honestly don't want to give up my note 7, but does anyone recommend a good phone to use until a possible note 8 comes out? (temporarily using the note 5
Love my note 7 but currently the Tmobile in my area ran out of S7 edges. so im stuck with it until restock and im not using my moms iphone 4s lmao. For those that are keeping theirs do you guys know that they will get software updates? if not just bite the bullet and get a s7 edge or try out the pixel or V20 until S8 comes out or the new note if there is a new note. Sucks to see such a great piece of tech go down like this.
What else could I ask them to do? Sell me a Note 5 at a discount, and then work with my carrier to allow me to *EASILY* upgrade to the Note 8 when the time comes. That is the ONLY way I'm not rubbed completely the wrong way. I am currently still using my Note 7 while I figure out what I will do.
At this point, I am stuck with a "new phone." I don't get to get a refund, and just keep using my old phone. Verizon has me on the hook, and it's Samsung's fault. I feel like the customer is the only one that is getting screwed (Samsung did it to themselves, so you can't call it "getting screwed"), and a lot of my fellow customers have pretty low standards for an $800 purchase.
Four recalled devices in two separate rounds of recalls, four screen protectors, two sets of skins, one case = $120. Gear S2 Classic, Gear S2, and Gear Fit 2 = $750. Since the iPhone 3g, I've been a loyal Samsung user. I don't love the iPhone, but I'm going back. I love my Note 7. I can't have it. I give up! Anybody need a smart watch?
I don't think they shud continue the note line, Note 8 which is probs already specced out shud go to a different name scheme, or make it a further offshoot of the Galaxy S line, "Galaxy S8 Edge Plus??" the plus being thr 5.7 screen and the "note" features. Thoughts?
What i dont get, is that what did they do during the first recall? how did they change things? didnt they thoroughly test the phone the second time round? or just swap batteries and send the phones out again. This is what they need to answer. ive owned every note and every S since the S3.
ur not funny... no1 would buy it with that name... Samsung is currently working on the Note 8 now... they have a long time to perfect it this time... hopefully this time they learned their lesson...
FML seriously I ordered it this Saturday that passed "Oct 8" It was being shipped, 3 days later I get an email that buyer requested order to be shipped back from UPS so no Note 7 :( I always wait at least 2 months before I buy the latest Note series but this 1 had issues and waited for the safe version and out of luck.
Took my time, but I'm back as a regular sub. Once again I saw why I liked this very much back in the day :) FWI: I was a sub much before this channel reached 1 mill subs, I think I was about in the range of 100k/200k but once I start watching this videos again they actually entertain me as much they did back in the day, I'm thankfull to be back and watch THE TONS of unviewed content I missed hahahaha. Really good channel, I admit it was very hard no to come back :D
Couldn't care less, I love my Note 7 and I'll be damned if I'm going to let a little explosion make me switch to one of the inferior models/manufacturers (never Apple). -Sent from my Galaxy Note 7
Just spoke with Samsung they stated no time frame or limit for return they stated they would honor the return at any time. I also asked will they disable current devices if not returned they stated Samsung is working on something now. So it sounds like they are going to disable this device In the near future
You say the iPhone is inferior yet you probably haven't used one because your glued to samsung, try something different its kind of what life is about.
You have a proof? *NO*. If you look at the recent news. It was from within the samsung company. So why blame apple if they only did was to allow samsung to manufacture their SOC's? I'm an android user. And this type of battery explosion always happens on most android devices. And I'm not excluding iphone cause there are some reports of phone malfunction. But atleast it's an isolated incident. Not a major one.
Went on web Samsung web yesterday and when I clicked on the note 7 nothing was said about it. Only the add to cart button was missing. That company sucks.
the note 7 WAS the note 6. All they did was bump the number up to 7 so it would have the same number as its galaxy s line. The note series started a year after the s series so it was one number behind. They decided to change the name to note 7 instead of 6 because non techies may get confused that it is one number behind the s.
Plus do not blame Samsung if it catches on fire, you have been warned! Do not go crying to the media taking photos of it crying 'oooh it burned my car down and I have a burned face and arms' or whatever, it is YOUR CHOICE! lol Not their responsibility if YOU choose to keep it when they begged you to return it. They owe you nothing if you or your belongings get damaged due to you choosing to keep the phone. :)
Idk, I wish it wasn't. But putting the two phones side by side, from a cold boot and no apps open, my note 4 consistently beat the 7. 4 is faster at typing and multi tasking. 7 is faster with s pen features tho. Also disabling all color balance effects and looking at both screens on 100% brightness, the 4 has richer colors and deeper blacks :(
Naomi took them 5 explosion of replaced note 7 to realise they had a fault. Before that, samsung said the device had no problem although couple already exploded. They tried to fix, but didn't. Samsung should have taken extra few weeks to test its safety before the exchange.
Masan I can agree that they should've tested the replacements before sending them off. Anyway, the production has already been halted, its no use talking about it now.
+Masan So you're calling the majority of the population 'stupid' because they aren't tech nerds like us who spends several hours on the internet every day, researching technology? People have lives you know...
When I returned my Note 7 to the Sprint store, the associate there told me that Samsung is going to release a software that will target Note 7's and brick your phone rendering it virtually useless.
Is there a link between the Note 7 and the portable hoverboards that exploded last year? If I recall there were a lot of fake Samsung batteries installed on them, if anybody recall.
The only issue I had was the way the handled the fact hat if you bought a case or screen protector from outside company and not with the phone they are telling you to contact the manufacturer of your third party accessories to get a refund. most are out of the thirty day window. They did not offer any help or options. They just passed he buck off to someone else
If you're paying full price and you don't have any compatibility issues, I'd look at a OnePlus 3, a ZTE Axon or an Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition is an insanely good phone, and in many ways it's better than the Note 7. Snapdragon 821 (better than Note 7), 6 GB RAM (better than Note 7), 256 GB internal storage + an SD card (way better than Note 7), 5.7" super-AMOLED display (same as Note 7), 23MP X 8MP camera setup (better than Note 7 in megapixels, only slightly worse in performance), type-C connector, etc. That one costs $799, so less than the Note 7. Or you could just grab a OnePlus 3 (awesome phone) for $399. There's lots of other options.
alot of sacrifices being made like no water resistance no s pen and always on display. which can be a deal breaker not only to the performance matters. But thank you for your comments im still considering alot of other options
Hi guys PLEASE HELP! Currently Galaxy Note 7 user here, and I am returning my phone soon for the recall and looking at replacement phones. I have some concerns about the new LG V20 as a replacement. I have been a long time fan of Samsung phones and AMOLED displays, and have never owned a LG phone. I am already unsure how I will feel about the IPS LCD screen but there are bigger concerns. I have read that past LG phones including the V10 has had bad problems with image retention and bootloop. has anyone heard anything about if LG has fixed these problems or think these problems might continue on the V20? I've been through enough with this stupid Note 7 recall TWICE, I don't want to change brands just to be disappointed and having to replace my LG V20 a few months after getting it. Thank you for anyone taking the time to read this and respond.
Hello BRo , thanks for the reply. But image retention, how to fix it besides eventually replacing the screen? I understand the problem is usually rare but from what I've seen online, apparently it's been a more prominent problem on recent LG phones. sorry if I do not know much about how to resolve this issue, any help or information will be a great help, thank you!
Lotus Moon ca.rtings.com/tv/learn/what-is-image-retention As you can see from the article, it is very very rare in LCD screens. And even if you manage to get it, it is usually temporary and will go away within a few hours of use Trust me, I had the same though when I bought my Note 5 with an AMOLED screen and the issue with burn ins. But the fact is, if you use your phone normally, there is no way you will have these problems] My cousin is currently using a LG G5 and it's been a couple months and nothing happened, so I can safely say it probably won't happen to you
Hello BRo thanks man, that does makes me feel better. It's too bad you got that problem on your Note 5! I had the Note 5 previously to my Note 7 and it was a fantastic phone, and also I've never experienced image burn or retention on any of my phones previously so I guess it's safe to say I use my phone normally. like I said, I've only had experience with AMOLED so I wasn't sure what to expect from a the LCD. Just curious, what phone are you currently using and in your opinion, which phone would you consider getting if you was in my shoes? again thanks for taking the time to respond to my post, it's nice to know people actually read these and care enough to help 👍
Lotus Moon Still using my Note 5. Like I said, the burn ins and retentions are temporary. Easy fixes I would hands down buy the V20 and I'll probably personally buy the V30 next year when it comes out. LG has been killing it these past couple years
good video glad to hear some well thought out commentary on the situation. Been a fan of the Note series since the Note 2, they simply have the the features I like not available from any other competitor.
I don't see anyone else talking about this, but my big concern is trading this Note 7 in for a phone I will be settling for, then 6-9 months down the road something awesome comes out and I am stuck with the phone I settled for. I want to to be guaranteed a VERY early upgrade should something release that feels less like I'm settling.
2016 has been horrible first it took harambe from us now the note 7 :(
Did you know Harambe personally. So stop sobbing.
AY Piash everybody knew that beautiful soul he will live in our hearts forever like the note 7
Towelie gg
AY Piash can you take a joke...
W
I was 100% sure to buy this fine piece of tech.. Now it's discontinued, I'm depressed.
Me too brotha... me too...
Just get gs7 or Ip7..
There are more than 1 phone in this world lol
buy a gs7 edge. It is pretty much the same thing
Neither of those do what the Note 7 does. If you wanted the S-Pen features, the Note is unique. I hope they come out with a Note 8 next year.
you're right neither of those do what the Note 7 does... They don't explode
7:10 Samsung even make military ships and skyscrapers - the tallest building in the world in Dubai and the twin towers in Malaysia were built by Samsung - they are much bigger than most people realise!!! lol, they did the right things? what a joke.
jacky yo making costomers to wait for weeks assuring fixed note 7, but then say sorry we stopped producing coz we can't fix it. How is this good?
well they had to deal this in a short period of time. Any other manufacturer would have just pissed off. Ex Apple...
***** other manufacture never experienced something this extreme. Im sure other company will take seriously as well. (You seem to care apple a lot) By tje way, no point trying to fix problem in short period of time if they can't do right. Samsung could have taken a bit longer to make sure of safety and quality.
Emaar built Burj Khalifa
they reacted way better than Apple would have ever reacted
Daniel Carrasco says the guys with no phone. Pwahahahaha
I was referring to the hisgate and the bending of previous Iphone.
Daniel Carrasco So hissgate>explosion??
Daniel Carrasco btw no one ever bend their phone on purpose and the iPhone 6 is still very durable back then...
Breaking news the FBI is looking to see if the note 7 was radicalized by isis.
damn
Apple did it
plessss XD
HotBoySmerff Yea Isis is willing to pay you double for note 7. But you have to include the charger.
You'll take my Note 7 out of my hot burnt hand
Fahrenheit38 I'm keeping my phone,I want to know how many they shipped out only 5 smoked out, r they saying everyone will ,scaredy cats
are they saying every phone will catch fire
It's discontinued bro, no software updates/support from Samsung anymore. I lost more than my note 7 because of this too but there is no point using it anymore
I would still have mine except for two things, I have a child and the risk is too high that he would get hurt(he uses my phones) and the fact that I dropped it(less than a foot off the ground mind you) and it shattered so this allowed me to get a new phone without paying for it. Still love the Note 7 and will miss the S pen
Bumblebee Goes Gaming Good point, and it's getting no more updates I guess I don't have a choice
Samsung just shot themselves in the foot......because they refuse to have replaceable batteries
GS6 had none of those, GS7 has all those but no removable battery sadly.
Exactly. They went downhill after the Galaxy S5.
+G. Ceara not really the s7 edge is excellent
its kinda hard to find phones with removable batteries & SD slots these days, thank God I have options
Maurice W
I have an S7 Edge and a Note 3, and I prefer the Note 3.
Unlike the S7 Edge, it has a removable battery.
The S7 Edge is way overrated in my opinion.
After the S5, Samsung started to copy Apple by removing the option of a removable battery, and expandable storage.
Re-release Note 7 with removable battery, make profits. I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but for now, I'm staying with my Note 4.
my note 3 can't keep up anymore so I got a new phone :( but I'm gonna miss the s pen...
Rangga Wiratno removal batteries are dead. They will not bring it back. I didn't like it at first but now I do now. it won't happen with Samsung.
Rangga Wiratno Note 7 has a glass back which removable battery requires redesign of the phone entirely
Rangga Wiratno Samsung isn't gonna go back to removable batteries. Samsung transitioned into quality design leaving behind the removable back. TayToria Sadly, but if demands are high for the V20, I hope Samsung will follow the trend. I honestly prefer removable battery cuz I can charge my second battery in a battery kit with a power bank instead of having my phone attached to it.
Brian's guitar 自high系列 Well, yeah but they can use the spare part from the returned Note 7 and save some cash on production. But heck, what do I know. :v
I think the spirit of the number 6 is after Note7 for not producing Note 6 first! Hahaha!
So now i have to pay 7 hundred dollars for a phone I DON'T WANT. WTF
Its like your comment came from my own brain
What about lg v20
I'm in the same boat! I don't want anything else because nothing else can compare! This phone is that good!
Chris Rodriguez I completely agree...nothing compares. And us previous owners need more for compensation.
I feel you. I didnt get the s7 edge bec i was waiting for this and got excited that my unit was delivered as early as aug 17. Just sucks that i'll be forced to get a diff phone that i dont like just so i can get by. I even bought a screen protector and a spigen case for my note 7 which will now go to waste.
They shouldn't have skipped 6.
technically the note 7 is the 7th note
Yeah... and Note 5 was Note 6
IAF Su-30 MKI [Air Dominance Fighter] -_-
IAF Su-30 MKI [Air Dominance Fighter] The Note line is always on par with the Galaxy S line. So it wouldn't make sense if the S7 was out and the Note 6 was out..
Kyle Pineda Well it made sense back then with Galaxy S6 and Note 5.
the best thing samsung should do is by making S8 cheaper by 100$..
you're really poor aren't you
no. some of us dont like buying overpriced rectangles
depends on what you classified as being poor, then yes I am 1000% poor
overprice rectangle that lasted for about a month
junior frass 👌👌
What are the odds Hillary will blame this one on Russia?
ShadowDrift zero
ShadowDrift Trump will blame it on China. Like he always does.
Trump could build a wall.... oh wait
XD
everything is RUSSIA and CHINA with this years election
OMG THIS !
This was the best phone I ever used. Can't wait for the N8. It's going to be sick.
That's what happen when you don't want to provide phone with removable batteries. It would have been so much easier to resolve the issue if they had the removable batteries.
the problem wasnt the battery, but the hardware that controls how much power goes ito the battery
It was the battery
u dumbass it was the battery
it wasn't the battery.
Fearzzy Yes it was.
it's not just samsung. iPhone has been having issues to.
shontapl not at all
shontapl one has nothing to do with the other
shontapl one has nothing to do with the other
JackPlaysOfficial Yes they have. Might want to do your research idiot.
nothing big compared to samsung
Why is John V always hating on samsung? This is why no one likes him... god...
Gabriel Ionescu god this jone v dude is anoying as hell lol he sounds like he's got a bad flu 24/7 365. lol
samsung should have tested the battery properly in the first place. they've said the battery is fixed but wasn't. what a joke samsung
Gabriel Ionescu I almost laughed when he suggested how Samsung should apologize. I think he was being overly dramatic.
Why dis John V is in video? He don't even do proper phone reviews?
you don't even english
Kirbocolypse yep.
He did while he was with PA
***** It's a joke in regards to his comment.
whos john v?
They're never getting this phone back...PHONE IS FIRE literally..I never had issue with phone..how come display model at store still at mobile haven't exploded yet and it's on charger all day...
***** I had a come up so this one I have which is a dual sim is Free of Charge so honestly I dont have anywhere I could send it to but I wouldnt if I had to. Best advice for you if you paid for it return it just in case so you wont be out your cash
I went to a local store and they removed it already lmao
Running theory from those who know a bit about USB TYPE-C connectors is, as long as you do not cheap out on the cable, you "MAY" be fine. Google USB TYPE-C there is an engineer that tested many cables, if you need a replacement or second one, follow his advice on cables.
rip note7. probbably best android till date.
herozero96 Your still calling it the best android even though it could permantly damage you. How dillusional are you.
Free Bleach i am returning it today. but i cant find replacement for this features note7 offers.
herozero96 best android? Becoz its has an inbuild greande,
Powered by Honda LOL exactly!
Powered by Honda
How did you made that connection between 1 model from company and android as a whole system
Everybody that still have the note 7 keep it OG rock the replacement until the note 8 come out then swap it
do you think anybody is going to accept the Note 7 as trade for a note 8? You're crazy...
yep at&t told me as long its in good condition and working I can trade it in
Brotha84 Brotha won't has software updates so it is useless
agreed
won't matter cuz it won't be getting support
RIP NOTE 7 (2016-2016)
I work at Verizon and anyone who comes in says something about Samsung and exploding lol. It gets so old fast.
That's cause they're iphone hoes..
Anyway I'm super upset about it and had to choose another phone :( (still Samsung cause I'm gonna support them)
On a funny side they probably had issues cos they skipped "note 6" and 6 is my favourite number ;)
my favorite number too 66
+OfelieArt funny, 7 is my favourite number and I was really looking forward to have the note 7.. ): I was originally going to buy s7 edge when it came out but I decided to wait and see what Samsung would do about the next note, in hope they'd mix note with edge.. and when they finally did, all the bad things happened ):
I went back to s7 edge because yeah, I also want to support them..
Should the phone be redesigned so the battery is removable?
B Case no
B Case Hell no.
I think the note 7 failure is actually beneficial to the android market as a whole. it will loosen up Samsung monopoly on the Android market and strengthen competition, which in turn is beneficial to end end user
and who knows, maybe this will make Samsung reintroduce phones with removable batteries
i have high hopes for the pixel
Yeah,
Anyway - Samsung has been too predominant
How is note 7 failure affect samsung's dominance? That's one phone and the most expensive . Samsung makes about. .......how many? I don't know of any other oem who makes a phablet with a stylus that's even nearly as good. If other oems want dominance let them step up to the plate.
Paul hogduhhh good one SMART GUY
Are they not refunding for the accessory products in the US? Because I had no trouble getting a full refund for all of my accessory products and the note 7 in Australia, and they also gave credits/cash cards to customers depending on whther they were contracted or outright purchases.
what is the best replacement for the note 7 i have?
On the contrary, I think Samsung handled the situation rather well. They acknowledged that there was a problem and provided a fix but that didn't work so they called back all phones and even sent users fireproof boxes to repack their phones back in. Samsung's president has even apologized to the public regarding the issue.
This is much better than how apple handled the Error 53, which they refused to acknowledge at first and also the touch disease which they still haven't.
Don't see what the problem is.. Phone is water proof.. Put it on charge and dunk it in a glass of water.
You are welcome.
Should I get the V20? Att tells me I could get it as a replacement :)
Yeah! Go for it. The V20 is a really fine piece of tech and stacks up against the Note 7 pretty well.
OtavioFesoares I'm just kind of reluctant... I really liked the AMOLED, wireless charging, and Iris scanner from the Note, but I guess the Quad DAC, removable back, and dual camera could be nice
get the iphone 7plus sadly. its the 2nd best out
i phone 7plus is nothing infront of v 20, iphone 7plus have 5.5 inch screen and is big as v 20 , v20 5.7 inch and better display ..... note 7 was the best looking and performing but sadly it didn't stayed for that long
CBT :( I feel you.
Why does the best galaxies has to be the one that doesn't last and always messes up I had the galaxy S7 edge and all of a sudden out of the blue my screen blacked out and now I'm hearing about the note 7 this makes me want to switch to iPhone 7
Get an LG V20
Marcus Taylor phones are used for calls and social media not to play air hockey good luck bruh lol............
That's one of the reasons why apple didn't wan't to switch to oled, because the pixels die from heavy usage. And that's why they are developing a micro led display to avoid all the negatives of oled but also provide benefits.
@Stuffy Pancake Is thatbwhy they already ordered 100 million oled panels from Samsung for the 2017 iPhone?
I have Samsung Galaxy S from 2010, AMOLED display still works perfectly. OLED is the best. aPple has a narrow OLED display on their notebook PCs.
what I called them about was the fact that they have this UHD hdmi color feature that designed to turned on when you connect a 4k source but has no hdcp2.2 and the one port that has hdcp2.2 doesn't has have this uhd hdmi color feature
we will never forget. RIP note 7
Asap 2027777 still better than crapple
Asap 2027777 i like samsung but galaxy note 7 sucks
We all know why this is happened. It is because they want to compete with iPhone 7. So they rushed the production of this model.
Now samsung learnt the hard way. Instead of losing a few bucks, now you guys are losing more than $1 Billion That is huge a mount of money. Also, because of this, you guys lose quite of number of customers and users.
If only you take more time with this phone before release it, might probably this won't happen. At least it won't happen this bad.
Take note Samsung. GET YOU SHIT TOGETHER..!! I still believe in you.
We have to agree
Damn...
True, I agree.
It was released the same time note 5 was released last year. Your statement is ridiculous
The Name of the Background Song Already Explains what Samsung has to Do: Square One - Going Back to Removable Batteries 🔂 🔋
do you guys know abything in regards to the note 8?? any info or release dates???
Is it possible to get the Note 7 S Pen features on the Note 5?
well, when they said that the Note 7 will explode on the market, they weren't lying.
It is really a sad ending for the Galaxy Note 7. It is such a fantastic phone in many aspects. I think this issue was blown out of proportion and amplify under the spotlight.
I just can't let go of my Note 7. So, ill hold on to this phone for as long as i can.
Thanks.
Going back to my note 4 and wait for note 8.
I'm watching this video with my note... I just can't get rid of it man 😢😢.. someone help me please 😭😭
I feel ur pain... note 7 user here... next week I'm giving away my baby and I just can't ... I just got it and I feel like I'm loosing yet again...
+1 here,really cannot get a perfect alternative.
Here you are. . . . . Try 'em, you'll like them.
out of 3 to 4 million note 7s sold worldwide, only around 110 of them were faulty so the chance of yours blowing up is not even 1%. Just saying the risk is low
Devin Macklin I'm with you it's just apple getting back at Samsung for the early month release of the God Phone and now apple is making it crystal clear about it but Samsung is bigger than apple they'll think of something
Maybe if you shouldn't had skipped the "Note 6" 😴
very very very sad incident :(((
I still want it though lol
5:17 YESSSSS
I give up! Anybody need a smart watch?
a free smart watch? :)
Perhaps. Now that beta testing is over, waiting to see if Gear Manager will be officially released for iOS
Someone said free?
I need one
free watch you say ;))
Meanwhile Creepy Clowns be like
Samsung is done ... Apple your next
You're *
Pointing out incorrect grammar is weak.
Note 7S coming to stores soon
Killa Konnections this is not iPhone .. it's going to be note 8
ur not funny... no1 would buy it with that name... Samsung is currently working on the Note 8 now... they have a long time to perfect it this time... hopefully this time they learned their lesson...
XxiKarlosxX xoxo no will buy anything called "Note" so who cares lets call it 7S, 7+, 7NO
watching this on my note 7😂😂👌
watching this on my note 7😎
FML seriously I ordered it this Saturday that passed "Oct 8" It was being shipped, 3 days later I get an email that buyer requested order to be shipped back from UPS so no Note 7 :(
I always wait at least 2 months before I buy the latest Note series but this 1 had issues and waited for the safe version
and out of luck.
Just noticed that on Samsung Mobile Facebook page, every single post related to Note 7 has been deleted from their timeline.
Watching this on my Note 7.
Maybe they will go back to removable batteries
IF it aint broken (Note 4)
DON'T try to fix it! (Note 7)
If you're saying that. then why even make new phones ever? your statement doesn't make sense
Moshe Lev Ceder If you knew the differences in spec between the two phones, you'd probably understand what i meant.
I love my note 4 Best smartphone phone ever made
eastlondonhustler note 4 is awesome. i don't even think i want to upgrade its so useful....
tying from my note 4
Can you tell who is the iship?
Took my time, but I'm back as a regular sub. Once again I saw why I liked this very much back in the day :)
FWI: I was a sub much before this channel reached 1 mill subs, I think I was about in the range of 100k/200k but once I start watching this videos again they actually entertain me as much they did back in the day, I'm thankfull to be back and watch THE TONS of unviewed content I missed hahahaha.
Really good channel, I admit it was very hard no to come back :D
Still a million out there being used they say. Count me in. Best phone ever. Don't forget, Nokia recalled 43 million batteries in 2007.
I think it is exploding because of the usb c charging. It is the only big new change
Beast Mode but my OnePlus 3 has the USB c and hasn't exploded
Couldn't care less, I love my Note 7 and I'll be damned if I'm going to let a little explosion make me switch to one of the inferior models/manufacturers (never Apple).
-Sent from my Galaxy Note 7
Big T. Larrity your dumb
Just spoke with Samsung they stated no time frame or limit for return they stated they would honor the return at any time. I also asked will they disable current devices if not returned they stated Samsung is working on something now. So it sounds like they are going to disable this device In the near future
Alex K Well that sucks..
It really is the best phone I've ever used, and I've had all Samsungs since the Galaxy s3
downgrade to firmware before the warning message came up, and find a way to disable updates.
You say the iPhone is inferior yet you probably haven't used one because your glued to samsung, try something different its kind of what life is about.
I'm sure apple is behind this all.
Hahaha you sure its not LG or Google or any other smartphone company that's also competing with Samsung?
ZTE
TheUser704 yes is illuminati and santa claus combined
You have a proof? *NO*. If you look at the recent news. It was from within the samsung company. So why blame apple if they only did was to allow samsung to manufacture their SOC's? I'm an android user. And this type of battery explosion always happens on most android devices. And I'm not excluding iphone cause there are some reports of phone malfunction. But atleast it's an isolated incident. Not a major one.
Went on web Samsung web yesterday and when I clicked on the note 7 nothing was said about it. Only the add to cart button was missing. That company sucks.
if they just didnt skip the note 666666 this wouldv been to them,.
i do agree with u. lucky number of this year is number 6 but they skip 6
the note 7 WAS the note 6. All they did was bump the number up to 7 so it would have the same number as its galaxy s line. The note series started a year after the s series so it was one number behind. They decided to change the name to note 7 instead of 6 because non techies may get confused that it is one number behind the s.
yeah we all know that . All reviews articles was saying about that. Repeating over and over.
im still using my note 7 no matter what!!!!!!!
same here
Steven Smith yes same here, but for how long? Are u gonna return it? Cause I doubt if we kept the phone we'll get updates
until i the next note. i got the note7 day 1 and i loved it back then and ill love it now
until I get a notification from Samsung and Att I'm keeping it.
I don't want any other Phone... But my note 4 is faster than my note 7 in day to day use :(
How is that even possible?
Idk, I wish it wasn't. But putting the two phones side by side, from a cold boot and no apps open, my note 4 consistently beat the 7. 4 is faster at typing and multi tasking. 7 is faster with s pen features tho. Also disabling all color balance effects and looking at both screens on 100% brightness, the 4 has richer colors and deeper blacks :(
you compare the specs dingus
What? Lol
What about the people who got a replacement and don't wana give it up, will the note 7 still get software updates?
Can someone please tell me the name of the song that is playing in the beginning? I've searched everywhere to no avail. :(
At least Samsung owns up to it unlike Apple who blamed their users for being stupid, sad reminds me of the curse of 7s
coz apple users are stupid who don't know anything about phones. also, samsung was blaming costomers too for explosion before and after the recall.
Masan samsung didn't do that. they admitted to it and tried their best to fix it. You're making up stories just like the apple fuckboy you are
Naomi took them 5 explosion of replaced note 7 to realise they had a fault.
The guy in plaid shirt is just annoying
cshgdchagi if you watch his channel you will know he is always biased towards Apple products no matter how shitty it is.
Amusedcat My thoughts exactly! hahaha
Amusedcat as a guest. are u American? U sound dumb. Lol.
Well he is part of android authority so its very unlikely he is a guest.
if ppl keep their note7 just so they know, samsung is not going to support updates so forget about Nougat on the note 7
atleast officially, custom roms and all that good stuff aside
Alonso so naugat update comes with the magic carpet ?
yes
When I returned my Note 7 to the Sprint store, the associate there told me that Samsung is going to release a software that will target Note 7's and brick your phone rendering it virtually useless.
Goldenchild325 I'm keeping mine till they throw that brick at it
Whats the latested I can turn it in?
im so down about no longer be able to get the note 7. iv been waiting for it for so long
So sad such a ground breaking spec heavy phone more than any phone in history boohoohoo. 😣😭😔
😆
s8 4k sceen.
curved all metal back.
Big screen s8 gets the S pen
bye samsung, hello apple
Wasn't this something that was already happening in Korea prior to the qc issues in the US?
quick question is it dead for good or they will resume the sales after they find out the problem
What about all the existing Note 7s? will they be worth a ton or nothing at all?
That BG music though... Anyone knows it's name?
since this was voted in the monthly giveaway, what you will do AA ?
Is there a link between the Note 7 and the portable hoverboards that exploded last year? If I recall there were a lot of fake Samsung batteries installed on them, if anybody recall.
The only issue I had was the way the handled the fact hat if you bought a case or screen protector from outside company and not with the phone they are telling you to contact the manufacturer of your third party accessories to get a refund. most are out of the thirty day window. They did not offer any help or options. They just passed he buck off to someone else
are we gonna get a note 7 2
is the note phone line discounted or note 7
I hope they will not discontinue the Note series, it's still an amazing phone.
BTW, did all the notes catch fire in USA?
Of course not.
Jorelplay it was over 9000
does anyone know if Samsung will continue support for the note 5 until the note 8 with the note 7 gone.
guys those that has return to its maker what phone did you change to and why? im lost with losing the best phone on the market now..
But thank you for your comments im still considering alot of other options
do they still sell the Note 5?
Those issues are really simple to fix and really rare in most cases, they shouldn't be reasons to not consider the V20
Lotus Moon ca.rtings.com/tv/learn/what-is-image-retention
As you can see from the article, it is very very rare in LCD screens. And even if you manage to get it, it is usually temporary and will go away within a few hours of use
Trust me, I had the same though when I bought my Note 5 with an AMOLED screen and the issue with burn ins. But the fact is, if you use your phone normally, there is no way you will have these problems]
My cousin is currently using a LG G5 and it's been a couple months and nothing happened, so I can safely say it probably won't happen to you
Hello BRo thanks man, that does makes me feel better.
Easy fixes
I would hands down buy the V20 and I'll probably personally buy the V30 next year when it comes out. LG has been killing it these past couple years
good video glad to hear some well thought out commentary on the situation. Been a fan of the Note series since the Note 2, they simply have the the features I like not available from any other competitor.
thanks android authority for this insight, but where is such a big bulk of defected phones go, how are they disposed off.
