maewings are omnivores, if u dont have access to kibble, use prime meat or mutton as much as possible

@@koolstatue3592 no, mutton is the best replacements for kibble for most creatures (carnivores or omnivores)
@@koolstatue3592 ovis (sheep) spawn in the area where maewings spawn so it's really easy to get.

It's easy on Genesis. HLN-A can be used to scan your target and you can see its exact torpor.
I tamed a 140 maewing before level 20 without even using a trap, if you start the bulbdog mission it gives you a free harpoon gun with infinite nets, you're intended to use them on the bulbdogs, but there's nothing stopping you from using them on whatever you want, I just started the mission, ran away with the harpoon gun and trapped the maewing, I didn't even use arrows, I knocked it out with a boomerang XD. The best part is it had an unusually low food stat, and nearly all the points that didn't go into food landed on stamina, I was so hyped

An alternative, and this works with everything, use one big bear trap, use stone fence foundations and build door frames, it protects the the animal from other dinos, and u can put doors and ceiling if it’ll take a while
Hi Steve, all over the area where the Maewing spawns there are sheep also, for me it worked very well taming it with mutton, much faster...just a tip. Love the helpfull tips!!!

Its really easy to do with the bulbdog tracking mission, just dont follow the mission and net a maewing, knock it out and tame it. EZPZ

If you put a bill board just behind its neck near its back it will get stuck and can’t move but you need to put a roof and two more billboards around it.
Basic kibble is their top choice so any kibble will work. Mutton as well

The trap i use is 4 billbourds and 2 pillars and about 4 triangle roofs you gotta be quick with the billbourds and a tip is to not go into first person mode
hey guys you dont have to make superior kibble to max tame a maewing it can easily be tamed with basic kibble. Hope it Helps!

Either make a trap or some nets and a harpoon gun. Then make a crossbow with some tranq arrows. Shoot in head only and then feed.

If u don’t want to use the rare flowers u have to get the billboard and place it on the maewing while it’s walking so it gets stuck then place two more around and one through the middle so it can’t jump up
Parently Maewings lay eggs that are classed like kibble as their simple, basic, superior and such so I think adding that to the combination of things that make kibble to well make said kibble or as a substitute to feed babies that want kibble when imprinting, but I never tested it out other than seeing them lay those unique eggs
Yea in the commands you can spawn them just not sure how to get them naturally
Steve, you need to be putting those billboards down faster. If you stack 3-4 on and around it quickly it won’t walk away in time and you don’t need any sort of roofing. It’ll try to jump but it won’t make it out. I’ve tamed 5 now. Easiest tame besides passives ofc lol

If u are on official settings don't use berries, it likes meat better. Use mutton, prime meat, or even regular raw meat and it is faster and gives better effectiveness than berries. If u are on super boosted settings then there is less of a difference and berries are ok. Also it likes basic kibble, u don't need to waste superior kibble on it. Also if u just shoot it with the net gun u can knock it out with a primitive crossbow before it gets loose
We just tamed a 145 one Nooblets, but no traps. Just shoot and follow as unfortunately everything pillared near the maewing. In fact we managed to block him using gates, but it flew above xD
was so frustrating and hilarious.
The billboard idea seems nice. We just need to find flowers as on official Helena doesn't allow you to purchase anything yet.

Do you think you could use the same type of trap as an argentavis? With the big doors, lure it it then place a door right behind it to trap it?

Don’t place 3 billboards around it, just place 2. One at the head and one at the back, their hit box is weird so you can place it over them and they get stuck.
Use the netgun to keep it still, then trap it. Easiest way

I've used billboards a lot works great
Best way to knock it out is to kick it with Equus that's what I did.. 2 swift kicks with a decent horsey n your good.. I have the footage to prove it if ya like?

Go up to it, press E to "pet" it will hit you, then press E again to feed it element, make sure element is in last slot 👍, hope this helps until, until Steve gives a video!

Billboards and rare flowers worked first time with a lvl 145 which was my first tame on genesis2. Was so easy, thanks mate

If you find a high quality eletric prod you can use it on a meawing and it will gain a lot of torp (i used a master craft and it got around 800 torp on a max level)

I have found that mutton is best if you don't have kibble instead of mejoberries. Other then that the trap is amazing

Just get a harpoon and use the harpoon net launcher and then tranq and feed, much easier
On Dodex and ark fandom it lists maewings proffered taming foods as:
Basic Kibble 99.8% +74 Lvl
Raw Mutton 99.1% +74 Lvl
Raw Prime Meat 98.6% +73 Lvl
Cooked Lamb Chop 97% +72 Lvl
Cooked Prime Meat 94.6% +70 Lvl
Raw Prime Fish Meat 91.8% +68 Lvl
Raw Meat 88.6% +66 Lvl
Crops 83.3% +62 Lvl
Mejoberry 73.8% +55 Lvl
etc.
Is this correct? Basic kibble seems a little too easy + it is not listed on the kibble sections of those sites. It would also not surprise me much if correct because the maewing saddle is unlocked very early. Thanks for any help
its easy because the maewing is all alone, most of time maewing is on the crowd.

Could use the honey to bait a trap, then box it in with billboards. Wouldn't have to agro the area then.... also wonder is it carryable by an argy?
hey there , love your vids , all your work with ark , just a small info , HLNA is not working on official server , so you cant buy anything from her exept trade exagons for engram points, but ya in local server ( single player mode it gives you access like on normal genesis map HLNA shop )

Why are you using billboards instead of just three or four dino gates in a line? Place a door on one end. Eat a flower or drop honey, let it walk in and place second door. Seems much easier that way?

How about just normal trap 2 wide foundation and 3 foundation Long and 1 Dino gateway and Dino gate door plus 3 high doorframes to Walls and 6 ceiling roof

They tame way faster then berries with raw meat, faster w/ prime, and mutton, ofc, is one step below kibble.
Oh... and they can heal off raw meat. Not sure if veggie cakes work, or if so, if they can stack.

Are wild ones lured by babies? I wonder if you kept a baby dino inside a box that it couldn't get to could keep its attention longer.
people pillared the nuts of the whole map. Almost impossible to place traps down. only option is a raft trap.

You asked us to comment what we would like to see and for me it’s plain and simple. I would just like to see you do these videos on official. Or do part of it on official as in the preferred way after you have done your experiments and know the best way to tame. Side note the Phoenix taming method in your second video is not possible to do a 150 alone on official in one heat wave. Love the traps and method you used for it, but your single player server videos are not as accurate as you believe they are sometimes. I always come to your videos first thanks for them.
I knocked out two without any traps which wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
You can also use mutton to tame it
The first taming method seems quite easy to do, the really hard part is finding a Meawing that is alone. So far on the server i am playing on i found masses of Meawing, but not a single one that is by itself, so the rare flower method does`nt really work.

You know on official servers HLN-A doesn't offer any items in the hexagon market. This is the second video i watched where you instruct people to buy stuff from HLN-A but anyone playing official can't do that.
Works for me on official console. But when the yello meteors appeared I mesh right through them and cant farm anything. But loot crates in any other map suck now. They spawn every item in primitive quality😑😑. Wasted so much on the lava golem for everything to be prim quality😡😡😡
@@botchedoperations3485 That was a bug and is now fixed. That is totally untrue btw, there are no items you can buy from HNL-A on GEN2 right now. The only thing you can buy on official servers is extra engram points. That is the problem with nooblets because he only plays on private servers... This stuff doesn't apply to anyone who plays official.
@@BobbyHomick I dont know then I play console pvp official and gen 2 works fine. The store gives me all the options to buy. Maybe its just so glitchy right now. I mesh through the yellow meteors, I get hexagons whether I complete or fail missions. My points reappeared after I used them and logged out. Its kind of boring to be honest. No need to ever grind as a solo playthrough😴. Got a forge,fab,tek bed,tek structures, heavy turreta
