Haven’t watched the video yet, or played the new map, but are you planning on a let’s play series for the new map? Would love to see a new ark series from you buddy. Loved watching your other play throughs. Legend.
Let Nooblets choose. He already got disappointed by the lack of views on his GenTwo series, that's why he finished it quickly. If he does one for Lost Islands, cool, if not, it's cool too. We owe him a lot anyway. :)
While you're on the tree you can place wooden spikes around them to stop the pack leader from walking away when it goes passive. This also protects it from other dinos while taming.
In my experience, you don't need to personally kill the betas/damage the alpha, a dino tamed by you can do the job. I managed to tame my first one by beating them up with a Maewing, but a Trike should be a really good option on account of the fact that Dinopithicus trigger the Rivalry buff
Another good tip, if you’re riding the monkey and you left click on poop on the ground, The Monkey will put it into his inventory automatically, then you don’t have to manually collect it.
I made a basic trap with door frames for walls and lured the pack in it then killed all except the alpha. Then damaged the alpha and just walked in the trap and used an extraordinary kibble to tame it. Worked both times ive tried so far. Great vid as always!
@@valor2382 dude that was too much work for the same result. I have already trapped and tamed dozen of them. Even fatdog trap makes more sense than this
A good method - its a pain in the butt but I prefer to make a 3 x 3 trap using doorframes 3 high for walls with a ramp. Lead the pack into the trap and kill as you need. Makes the tame alot less trouble cause the alpha is stuck during the feeding stage.
you can make a taming box in an area where they spawn. then go look for a good one anywhere and then bring it back. just get 2 adult lower levels from the near surroundings and they will form a pack then just do the thing
Make a taming pen two walls high. Use quetzal to carry high lvl dinopithecus and drop him in. Then find two other random dinopithecus and drop them in with the high lvl one. Wait a few seconds and the high level will now become an alpha. Shotgun the beta bros and you in the clear. It definitely worked for me but the way I did it allowed them to form a new group
@@NOOBLETS No, it does work, you need to make sure the alpha loses the alpha status, and only then bring other baboons to form a new group. Wait for a while, and it will work. I tamed over 10 this way, it does work. In your video, the baboon never lost the alpha status, so you didn't break the initial group to form a new one. You need to take them far away from their initial group to be able to make it lose alpha status, I used a wyvern to bring them out of the redwoods entirely.
Food meter does not go down but the health meter does go down, fed him one piece of prime and then it walked around for half an hour before dying from its health decreasing over time
I helped my tribemate tame one by drop trap yesterday. It was a bit odd but worked nicely. We used 4 stone foundations, stone doorways, and a set of stairs. We killed the low lvl ones with crossbows from a ridge them the tame was easy
Thanks , that answered a few questions. What about using a net gun? Eg the alpha to seperate it from the betas. You can kill on a Dino. Also you mentioned going off to get a Quetzal, I'd just take one In a cryopod
Tamed one after getting attacked by a pack, leader stopped attacking so I fed em mutton from the Ovis I killed. That being said love your vids tamed a high level sino using your method from that vid. To the point and not done in admin mode hats off sir
Nice video and fun method with grapples. With the trap method, I used a wyvern as they too can pick them up. The Beta sacrifice kill can be any random Monkey from any pack, but it must be a full grown adult at any level as long as its lower than one you want to tame. What i believe is that it at least needs to be in proximity of one beta kill to initiate the feeding. Anymore betas will cause it to require additional beta deaths.
Awesome lol been subscribed for a while, and I have to say, I have never heard such on par/perfect puns from you like this as far as I can remember. I like it bro lol keep up the awesome work!
Thanks! I'll do this going forward lol. I wanted to figure it out for myself, so I got a monkey in a raft trap at the jungle castle with the water round it. Luckily it seems it was the alpha I trapped first, so I just followed the instructions. Oddly it first needed 3 betas, so I killed the 3 near it, after that it needed 7 betas, so I killed all around, and moved the raft a bit to get to some more, then taming progressed to hurting it and feeding. Your method sounds more reliable. It was nice having the alpha captive through the whole process, but it was dumb luck that I got that one specifically lol.
So basically , you murder his entire family and friends, then proceed to break every single bone on his body, then force feed him while he is bleeding out, and he decides to be your lifetime slave, totally makes sense
Love all your videos all so helpful and entertaining to watch ❤️. Can you please do a video on the Magmasaur on Lost Island? People say you feed them sulfur but in fact it isn’t eating them so can you please do a video on the Magmasaur on Lost Island that would be very helpful to not just be but everyone else wondering the same thing.
Wyverns can pick them up to. Plus other dinos won't attack you while you're on it, far as I know wyverns will attack you. They are great in caves!! You can just run past all them mobs in caves and won't attack unless you attack or get off.
Honestly if my thyla didn’t do the gnashed effect, and I got more monkeys, she’d literally get no use anymore. These guys have amazing mobility, don’t take fall damage, and are very strong, even on their own!
I was really expecting these dinopitheci to be more vocal. More "hoo hoo hee hee haa haa" kind of stuff, you know? Oh well. Excellent guide, as usual :D
You can do as he shows in the video or you can do it the easy way which is lead them to a trap. Them being the alpha and an 2 other betas. I’ve have tamed a ton of them this way. Super easy, and you don’t have to worry about running into another group of alphas and betas. Cause it will happen.
Theyre food needs to drop like 750-1000 pts. Ur best way to avoid dying is just sit in a tree or flying mount until its ready to be fed. Carnos dont seem to attack them and the baboons dont attack others once the taming begins so theres no need to protect it
Another great video, thanks steve! can't wait to see what methods you use for taming the Amargasaurus, it took me several hours to tame a high level one and tried alot of different things that mostly ended with me messing up the taming process, it's extremely hard to do solo due to packs of dino's like yuti's and vultures and troodons but if you are end game and have at least 1 person to help you i found a nice way to cheese it, you can use a skiff and trap the amargasaurus inside a pen and then have them drop hostile creatures near it for easy kills with low risk.
Ill try your way i guess since my last 2 attempts resulted in the alpha not becoming passive. For all i know the rest of the troop could have been a mile away.
