Leon and claire's character is way better in the remake, leon looks better in remake and claire looks better in remake (not overly sexualized like this game.)
I’ve always liked Steve even in the original code veronica. Part of it was how bad the voice acting was, but Steve was still enjoyable and I love that this game did what you said it proved Steve and Alfred can be likeable and serious 😊
I might get hate for this, but I always loved Steve and Alfred. Steve brought on comic relief, and he's one of the most tragic characters in the series. I still find his death the saddest. Alfred, on the other hand, makes for a unique and interesting villain. He's also fun to mess with, lol.
Claire was really crushed by his death too. In fact she was slowly beginning to fall for him. In the Dark side chronicles version Claire was actually flirting with him.
I like this re-telling of RE2 , it makes more logical sense for a Claire and Leon to stick together. Same goes for Steve and Claire in the code Veronica segment of the game . I know in the originals. Going alone is more terrifying and survival is more crucial . Which gaming wise is valid . But story and logic based sticking together makes way more sense
I love what they did with him in this game-- I hope if we get a proper CV remake (come on, Capcom, get on that shit!) they look to this game for how to do his story and character justice. It really gets across that he's just a terrified, angry kid who doesn't understand why this happened to *him*, and I love that. His aggression and hot-headed-ness feel so justified here, and it's the voice acting that sells it.
I liked this game! Especially the Krauser bits as it adds more depth to Leon and Krauser's archrivalry in Resident Evil 4. While Chris and Jill have Wesker as their archenemy, Leon had Krauser. I do hope Krauser returns one day like Wesker did and comes back to haunt Leon like Wesker did to Chris. This is what I felt Code Veronica in this game was missing, more Wesker. Wesker was way more prominent in the original and had a much bigger role. Here, he just shows up and sees Chris leave without fighting and showing off his true power for the first time.
Man Sherry had balls of steel when that giant aligator/croc came out of the sewer at leon and claire. Sherry just runs straight towards the monster instead of away.
Makes me laugh that Leon went through all this with Claire and Sherry but at the end of the RE2 Remake he asks Claire "Who's this?". Cant believe they took out all his interaction with her in that. Barely even saw Claire in the RE2 Remake either

I made a review of resident evil code Veronica on my channel recently. In it I mentioned that Capcom missed a golden opportunity with Alfred and Alexia Please feel free to watch it if you’d like as I try to bring some comedy elements into it but overall here are the bullet points for improvements. One, make Alfred and Alexia sinister to the point of being the most evil characters in resident evil. Two, bring back Allison Court or someone who is as good as Allison Court to reprise the role of Claire Redfield. Whatever person they have right now, I’ll find her to be extremely annoying. Three comma better voice acting. The voice acting even in the code Veronica version of Darkside Chronicles is not good. Forone, Claire never shut the fuck up and she is even more annoying in this game than in any other Allison Court version of Claire Redfield. Number four, please fix the Steve character. Darkside Chronicles did not fix him. Darkside Chronicles brushed him up a little bit but he is still the most annoying character I’ve ever come across. At this point, if they have to turn the Steve Carter into a woman and have Claire Redfield get into a lesbian relationship with the female character, I have no issues as long as the character is not annoying. Number five, if they have to leave the Steve character in the game, please don’t make it a love story. Because that was the most out of place part in resident evil. Here’s something I did not mention in my review. In a code Veronica remake, why not have Claire die instead of Steve? Let’s have Chris play off of that. And finally. For me personally I don’t like the Darkside Chronicles code Veronica Clare model. In the original version, she looked like she was 20 or 21 years old. In this version, she looks like she’s 17 or barely 18 years old. Maybe even 16 or 15. And I don’t know why for some reason she reminds me of Ellie from the last of us part two. And whenever I remember that particular game I want my money back. For me, in the Allison Court, Claire Redfield versions, as I don’t count the other ones from the same universe because that was the point of unbelievable irrelevant of Claire Redfield, she look the best in code Veronica as she actually look like a young woman who is battle tested. In Darkside Chronicles code Veronica chapter, she looks like she’s going home from high school or something And honestly I think Capcom have run resident evil into the ground from a creative standpoint. They know that whatever they publish with the resident evil title on it it will sell but the story will make no sense. It has gotten to the point where we are following the old timeline with resident evil village and a remade timeline with resident evil remake of 12 and three simultaneously. So I don’t even know what to follow anymore and I have stopped caring about this series after resident evil five Here’s also a suggestion from some people online who might have a point. Give resident evil the doom eternal treatment

45:10 Those look more like battery's than bullets. So are the Darkside Chronicles the Canonical version of Resident Evil 2? Seeing as the events of Resident Evil 2 in this game are Leon's memories of what happened and he seems to have experienced everything Claire did and never separated from her unlike in the original and the Remake. It also explains how he would have known things only Claire should have experienced. The main and most glaring flaw with the remake is the lack of connection between both stories that was there in the original. I would have liked it more had they pushed the release date back to fix said issue instead of releasing it like it was. It was the same flaw with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Their were parts of the game that felt unfinished and would have been finished had they been given more development time. If they wanted a Christmas release then they could have held off for a year and release it then. One of the recent Updates has caused the loading screen in Spirits Mode to take about 10 seconds of loading time instead of the 2 seconds we started off with.
They're fragmentary bullets. And I don't get your weird comparison with Smash Ultimate, let alone some extra months would't be enough to revise the entire story scenarios of the game. Also, no. I really doubt these are the canon events.
I agree with everything, but RE2 remake is still an amazing game, probably one of the best of the franchise. About Super Smash Bros Ultimate, i think the campaign mode is lame compared to Smash Brawl.
Ngl I wish the RE2 was exactly like this plot… it would have been better seeing Claire and Leon team up and saying “men”, “woman” and their interaction plus I like Ada in this one more then the new ones
2:15:41 Chris has some ideal facial features. He has well-defined cheekbones, straight nose, full lips, strong chin and beautiful big blue eyes. Man he is handsome.
Im suprised that im not the only one coming back to the here to get more of the understanding of the situation and I also wanted to see leon and clair team up more sooooo yeah.

I really like the retelling of RE 2. It would be like a real-life scenario. I also like how it's the start of how Leon refused to continue the Redfield bloodline haha
I'm just going to call it here. the next RE after the RE4 2023 and Ada's DLC will be Code Veronica remake with operation Javier as DLC. the document in RE4 talked about this and the story about Veronica connected to Javier. and since we already have Claire in the RE2 remake. She has to come back somehow. With the very positive review from the RE4 remake. this is highly possible.
@@musa4574 I hope they don’t rush to. RE5 ‘cause in Veronica have a lots of charm and story that build up to other RE. And it’s also the first time Chris learn that Wesker have superhuman strength. Also if speaking of reusing assets. Veronica have many area that similar to RE4 so if they don’t screwup like RE3 remake. This game will be a good foundation to go next.
I hope Resident Evil 8 (plot wise) is like this game. RE7 deviated too much from the main plot. Even even the Not a Hero DLC changed Chris too much. I get they wanted to show the RE Engines capabilities but sometimes less is more.
DarkVengeance0 I think the departure was necessary though. Resident Evil 5/6 proved the series was getting too caught up in its convoluted story and blockbuster action. Re7 made the focus more small scale and intimate. Hopefully they’ll find more of a horror balance now in future games with the characters that we love

Playing this for the first time in Nintendo Wii as well as resident evil 4 which I played over a dozen of times on ps2 an wii
Steve is so much better in this than in code veronica, and dare I say I actually like his character now
I have NEVER liked Ada. I feel like she's ment to be Leons "mysterious" love interest but she just irks me
43:49 Was there any possible way he could have realistically survived this long enough to inject himself with G?
No he would die instantly
I love that the story here is more coherent that what we actually got in RE2R
Ngl I wish the RE2 was exactly like this plot… it would have been better seeing Claire and Leon team up and saying “men”, “woman” and their interaction plus I like Ada in this one more then the new ones
2:15:41 Chris has some ideal facial features. He has well-defined cheekbones, straight nose, full lips, strong chin and beautiful big blue eyes. Man he is handsome.
Wish Code Veronica has a remake.....😁
Birkin looks so sick in this
1:49:03 THANK YOU STEVE!!!
Im suprised that im not the only one coming back to the here to get more of the understanding of the situation and I also wanted to see leon and clair team up more sooooo yeah.
claire model in this version is better than herself. so cute and nice voice..
Awww I’m blushing☺️
@@claireredfield8388 not you...you different version of claire
@@nasrul1446 ouch
god I love Steve getting angry at being called a rat. So cute how he acts all manly XD 'By that you mean you?" no response 'yeah THOUGHT SO'. The SASS
2:13:55 Had he not tampered with the plane then he wouldn't have had to worry about waking his sister up early.
I really wished they made the Operation Javier Campaign into a real Resident Evil game that way it makes Code Veronica's story connect with RE4
The cutscense make steve look so HOOOOOOOOT!
Im really upset that hes gone😢
He's not dead
@@otaku_senpai_ex6196 Yes he is
Halo he reminds me of an 18 year old Leon lol
2:23:17 bruh. the amount of innuendos in this game is insane.
1:54 The moment i always need to remind people exist For people who say werewolves, vampires, bigfoot type creatures couldn't work Just show them that in cannon Cryptid have existed in RE Lore for while now this is the game more fans need to play at least for the standalone story of operation Javier
Damn Krauser were way too cool not to be future RE games , he could run Grim Reaper (H.U.N.K) for his money. Shame he got fucked up in Re 4
Where was this version of Steve in the original Code Veronica? The chemistry they have here is leagues better than the garbage in Code Veronica.
Steve is what i could see as just a very young, impetuous Leon (say, early teens?). He even rocks a similar haircut! Lol
Playing these at the arcade was fun af I remmeber how it would get so hot too dude this was 🔥
I remember playing this when I was a kid.
I really like the retelling of RE 2. It would be like a real-life scenario. I also like how it's the start of how Leon refused to continue the Redfield bloodline haha
My impression or does Steve resemble Leon a lot but more rebellious?
Claire talks a lot in this Resident Evil game version.
If they do have Operation Javier as DLC then I bet they’ll do a RE5 Remake using the assets of Javier similar how RE4 used the assets of Village
This game will be a good foundation to go next.
i'll take this RE2 retelling over the RE2 remake anyday, Burkin in this one is more terrifying in this one than in the remake
2:37 they'll never fix the ladder, aren't they?
I miss games like this.
They need to remake CV. They made Steve so much more likable for people. Think of what they can do if they make a full game like that.
Ada: 31:44, 32:00, 36:48, 39:11, 50:27, 53:21
I hope CAPCOM will remake this as they remake RE4 just now
Quest 2 port is a must for both the Umbrella & Dark Chronicles
If Alfred didnt use sniper with laser it would all have been over
Krauser vs Chris Redfield Arm wrestle
Krauser reminds me so much of Gail from Dino Crisis 1
I hope Resident Evil 8 (plot wise) is like this game. RE7 deviated too much from the main plot. Even even the Not a Hero DLC changed Chris too much. I get they wanted to show the RE Engines capabilities but sometimes less is more.
DarkVengeance0 I think the departure was necessary though. Resident Evil 5/6 proved the series was getting too caught up in its convoluted story and blockbuster action. Re7 made the focus more small scale and intimate. Hopefully they’ll find more of a horror balance now in future games with the characters that we love
1:45:25 it's confirmed. Steve was a B.O.W during this whole time. Look how far apart his thumb is from the rest of his fingers. Geez. My guy. What happened to your hand man ?
