The reason she's playing professionally in Spain is because at this time there was no WNBA... So American college players who were good enough to go pro went to play professionally overseas
Sad thing is, they still get paid more overseas than the WNBA lol
Even today alot of them still play overseas too because of the pay
Overseas still pays great and they get treated like superstars over there,,,,
Yessir The WNBA debuted in April of 1996
@@kylehopkins1180 that's cool as hell
Bruh the 90’s were loaded with some beautiful women. Nia Long, Sanaa Lathan, Regina Hall, Regina King, Angela Bassett, Brandy, Tia & Tamera. I could go on, but that’s a whole lot more typing lol.
Halle Berry to
Somebody said Q only likes Monica when her hair is done and now I cant unsee it whenever I watch 😂
Haha I think it was Primms Hood Cinema
Omg u right lol
I mean the movie did end with her in a pony tail
I know what UA-cam are you talking about who that is funny bro that's fucked lol
Same lol
“i didn’t know nike made dresses” she should have gotten slapped 😭😭
🤣🤣🤣😅😅
I don’t think there would ever be a part 2 bc Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps dated at that time and allegedly had a bad break up, he ended up marrying his ex (Keisha from Total) after they broke up.
Even if they was cool with each other we don’t need a part 2
I was todays years old when I found out about this 😂
I guess he really like Q fr 😂
She went overseas because the WNBA wasn’t created yet
This man Q so much of a demon he tore his ACL, and dropped 40 on Monica head because he knew he had to turn up on her ass😂
The "I Wanna Be Your Man" scene is my all time favorite romantic scene ever
“She feel like a real woman now” lmao
He had no redeeming qualities and always treated her like dirt. I don’t see why she loved him so much tbh.
Always?
They were the inverse of each other's personalities. Where one lacked the other was strong. They also were both immature and discovering who they were and what life, love/relationships are about. Until Q's Dad cheated and he lost his sense of identity, they had similar interests and goals.
I wouldnt use the word dirt.... he just wanted her to always be there for him, even when she was going through her own issues. His own mother couldnt be there because she was had a bad marriage with his dad
@@aya9af Best comment on here.💯💯
@@brandonethereal1084He expected to much he wanted her to be there for him but he was never there for her it isn’t until the very end til we finally see him actually support her
The WNBA wasn’t a thing til 1996 so until the WNBA women who hooped went overseas
This is such a cute film this is my childhood movie because of Kyla Pratt who played Monica. Plus the soundtrack in this movie was 🔥🔥🔥 and Boris Kodjoe was fioneeeee 😍
Omar Epps did his legend thing on this film 🎥
They pay wayyy more overseas than they do in the states...
They chemistry was good in this film because they were dating around this time ❤
What fr
never thought I’ll be watching somebody watch something I watched yearsss ago n enjoy it ion have no request I just watch whatever you put out🔥
Mj definitely knew wat she was doing with the thumbnail 😂😂😂
nah, you're just creepin
@@cinemeleon2808 trust me she no exactly what she doing..it's not creeping it's facts
😂😂
That double or nothing always hits hard at the end. It’s so hard to find girls that hoop that are into guys
Men and women are different but both deserve the same rights
Facts💯💯
Did you just learn this or something?
This is my favorite movie of all time 💯 I have the DVD & everything I love basketball & good movies so it’s a perfect fit… that Maxwell song during the dance scene that song is on repeat on my playlist 😂
“YOU FORGOT TO BE THERE”
I really feel like people who watch this movie and love it just get it, and most of us thankfully get the movie and love it and connect with it because it speaks to our own childhoods and the innocence of growing up and having these experiences as kids and getting older and experiencing young love, and I also think it speaks to us women who’ve grown up being tomboys.
I can tell by this girl and her reactions (which I didn’t enjoy and found ridiculously harsh and lacked any real perspective or awareness) and some of these people with their ridiculous comments in the comments section just don’t get it, and are being unfairly harsh and over-the-top in their criticisms. People really need to lighten up!
And yes, Q is clearly immature in some of these scenes, and I wasn’t feelin’ his attitude and would’ve gotten on him too for some of his treatment and behavior, but his character and responses and behavior was very realistic and true from growing up and things I’ve seen and experienced from boys and young guys especially if they’ve idolized their dads to then be disillusioned and disappointed by them. To me, their characters were so realistic and well-played and I understood them and their love story.
“Double or nothing.” That line gets me every time!!!❤😢
Higher Learning 🖤
She's definitely gonna cry
Great reaction video sis! As I got older I have despised this movie simply because the way Quincy treated Monica all because she couldn’t miss curfew. His dad’s actions definitely affected him too.
Man they don't make movies like this no more
i used to watch love and basketball when i was a kid i remember seeing this is a great movie sanaa lathan and omar epps and i also like alfre woodard her acting has been on point
Great review as always. I don't know how you pick the movies for your reviews but a great hidden gem that know one really knows about was Baadassss 2003 written/directed/starring Mario Van Peeples playing and telling the story of how his father Melvin Van Peeples revolutionized cinema by basically inventing the "Blaxploitation" genre that financially saved the major motion studios that were going bankrupt long enough that mega-blockbusters like "Jaws" and "Star Wars" could come out and reinvent the way movie theaters were set up that paved the way for the 80s big budget renaissance that propelled the rise of VHS rentals and the home entertainment revolution.
This my favorite movie all time and so far, this is my favorite reaction from you. Great stuff!
Alfre Woodard played Sanaa Lathan's mother in 3 movies Love & Basketball (2000), Something New (2006) and The Family That Preys (2008).
Another amazing reaction, Mj loved this 👏🏾 .... Damn I forgot how good of a movie this is. Now, I have to rewatch it. Good video, mami chulo 😘
The scene when they do it for the first time I always laugh cause when he take his pants off she looks scared n he smirks like yeah i know
I LOVE when you whimper at a scene. You are the cutest
Romancing the Stone is another classic. You might want to look into that
Nah MJ that’s crazy. Capping on a baby’s bald spots 😂
I love your channel so much MJ I’m glad I stumbled upon you and I just love you so much you like me when I watch movies even though I’ve seen a lot of them. It’s so cool seeing you react to them can’t wait to see what’s next.💜💜
They both pissed me off because Quincy was wrong for expecting Monica to miss curfew aka risk losing her scholarship/future to be there for him. But at the same time, Monica was wrong for not being there at the times where she could've been such as her going to celebrate after winning the star spot. She should've went to go be with her man after that cause she knows that he's going through something. Or at least taking him with her to celebrate.
Thanks for the watch, It’s My favorite love movie of all time!
But with that Tyra banks Cameo i think we need to recommend “Higher Learning” that’ll be a good reaction.
I grew up on this movie so it was good to watch it again. I had a crush on Monica as a boy sigh time flies
Lool this my first time seeing this channel, she's funny😂😭
Yeah Sanaa is so underrated in real life like I’m just now realizing her real personality. But she is pretty 😍 😂
Classic. Great reaction MJ
If you haven't seen these already check out Love Jones (1997) starring Larenz Tate, Nia Long, Isaiah Washington, Bill Bellamy, Lisa Nicole Carson, Bernadette L. Clarke and Leonard Roberts and also Brown Sugar (2002) starring Sanaa Lathan, Taye Diggs, Queen Latifah, Mos Def, Nicole Ari Parker, Boris Kodjoe, and Common.
I was a baby boy around the time used to watch this all the time
Man I Love Basketball Movies My Favorite Love an Basketball an He Got Game He Got Game Was Really Good Too Classic
only reason i clicked was because fo the thumbnail you ain’t slick MJ😭😭lmao
I didn’t take a picture this day so I used an old one. Stop being weird.
Great movie and awesome reaction 💪🏾💪🏾
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Beautiful movie
Monica and Q were very cute together but very toxic 🤣🤦🏽♀️
Honestly what was cute about it?? They weren't even best friends. They weren't even friends . He didn't even act like he loved her on a platonic level let alone a girlfriend.
Yall reaching
They were friends thought and someone they could count on when things were bad at home, this man Q is just too obsessed with himself@@wildonez3076
They were definitely best friends, and had been best friends since they were 11.
The reason she was in Spain playing was because the Wnba didn't exist yet so if a female college player was good enough to go pro they went overseas.
Nah...I deadass remember this movie, if I can remember correctly this was one of em ones fr.
It definitely was
Idk why a lot of people hate this movie but it’s a good film. People make it seem as if this movie is trash.
Really good movie !
It’s a dope movie but it’s hard to root for a couple when it feels like the woman is chasing the man.
@@KeishaCharmaine Whats wrong with that?
Huh? A lot of people praise and acknowledge this movie
Literally everyone love this movie, I never heard anyone bash this film. You trippin..
Great reaction, fun to see your generation enjoying these classics! I highly recommend reacting to Brown Sugar.
I like the thumbnail❤😊 Bless!!
You a freaky frog
Great reaction to Love and Basketball!!
I loved your reaction and when you said ahhhhh at the end was kind of funny not gonna lie
32:42 Yooo!! She meant that! 😂 You ever watch a movie and forget that you’re watching a movie? 🤣
Been grieving so bad all this week, this upload is the only thing that is cheering me up, he loved this movie💙
Not brought out your feminine side lololol!!😂😭… the way you said that was lowkey adorable though. My fem side still nowhere to be found lmao🤷🏾♀️🥲
This is a cute reaction. Just subscribed notifications bell on!!!
MJ
BEST MOVIE EVER MADE. About the music, "yeah," the director matched the music, clothing & fashion style, slang, and culture, to the year of each quarter. Awesome reaction and dialogue (And this film has one of the best movie soundtracks of ALLTIME - If you get a chance, please check it out).
You were amazing!! Great reaction
You knew somebody was about to make love in a movie when they started playing that song lol
This is one of my favorite movies. Another great reaction. Have you thought about reacting to the Star Wars Saga?
GREAT REACTION!!
Next is love Jones and you'll be caught up but this is perfect black American love story lol
We always thought pt 1 the wood pt2 love and basketball pt3 the best man or love Jones something like that lol everyone is in all the movies lol
The program and higher learning yeah those too lol
She look so cute with her little heart sweater on
Mj is the most hardworking up and comer movie reacter in the game 💪🏾, she already uploads like she's a veteran in the game❤❤
Love the reactions
Funny thing is, in real life, Sanaa is OLDER than the college guy (Boris Kodjoe)
My favorite movies of all times
One thing about this channel she’s always haven so really great movies
I love your sweater!
You should watch Higher Learning next!!
Dunno if i call the relationship toxic. Just the trials of young love where usually being young especially for guys they still not sure what they really want until they realize what they want in a relationship and who they want. Nice reaction MJ.
Dem Spanish managers be winning championships fr😂💯
Fun Fact Love & Basketball 2 was gonna happen but it got cancelled unfortunately
Lol this reaction was hilarious 😂❤
THISSS IS THEEE MOVIE.
It's a good film in terms of plot, character development and entertainment value. A lot of young relationships are toxic. So many young people carry burdens from childhood and haven't learned what healthy relationships look like yet. It's great that young adults now can recognize toxicity; wasn't so easy in previous generations.
love this movie down!!! Hoping you react to Love Jones and Higher Learning
Wait it that Hayden from sistahs in the beginnin when he was lil ?? 😂 awww he was cute
Yes that is him
check out colors and do the right thing next
Yo channel is growing so fast
Such a good movie. Good storyline, plot wise and it's so realistic of what most couples go through it shows the good and the bad and how it affects your everyday life from childhood to adulthood. Love this movie with a passion! Such a classic!
Yep it’s toxic but that’s just the realistic part of it. Most romance movies are very fairytale rather than realistic.
@@brazyfilmo3121This movie shows real life situations tho yes it's toxic but it's more real than fairytale.
Fun fact: they both dated for years in real life
Omg please do a reaction to brown sugar it also has the girl in this move and Shes the main character
My mama’s favorite movie
After watching the Primm's Hood Cinema review of this, I can't help but see Quincy as a piece of shit lol
3:18 I said the exact same thing 😂
You gotta watch just wright now
Great video, I love this movie ❤..you should react to Love Jones next
Lool you can definitely get on him, Q was horrible for no reason😭
