Iran deploying warship to the Red Sea after U.S. strikes Houthi rebels

- U.S. Navy helicopters returned fire and sank three small boats carrying Houthi militants in the Red Sea over the weekend, after U.S. warships responded to a distress call from a merchant vessel, military officials said.
The Houthis said they lost 10 group members after U.S. forces fired on their vessels, referring to the engagement as "dangerous behavior" that will have "negative repercussions."

It's barely the size of a Frigate, who's life expectancy is about seven minutes in a ship to ship battle.
you never know
It's not been sent to fight. It's been sent as a flag to raise the region into a more emotionally embattled state. War is more than guns and death. It's a mentality, a belief, an ideologs gift so to speak. To bring up a higher presence to an ideology that pulls on all in the region. These kind of tactics have been used in, around, and throughout war since books could be written. I'd recommend a few for strategic education.

Funny thing, the US already sunk one of these same class ship during the tanker war and Iran pulled back their remaining ships because they released it was no match against US Navy. Alborz (Persian: البرز) is an Alvand-class frigate, Vosper Mark V, of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy. It was supplied to pre-revolutionary Iran's Imperial Iranian Navy by Great Britain, dates back to the time of the Shah of Iran, and was launched in 1969.
'Alborz'? sounds like an anagram of Abort.
SOUREC WIKIPEDIA: Pennant Number 72 is the Alboraz, built by Vickers, in 1968 and commissioned in 1971. n January 2010 the ship was sent to the Gulf of Aden, to protect Iranian maritime interests.
In April 2015, Alborz was deployed along with the supply vessel Bushehr (together, the Iranian Navy's 34th Fleet) to deliver arms shipments from Iran to the Houthis in Yemen, challenging a Saudi Arabian-Emirati blockade of Yemini ports from the delivery of such shipments. The US responded by sending the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt to the Gulf of Aden, challenging the Iranian ships, which responded in turn by turning around and heading back to Iran.
Judging by photographs, it underwent another modernization during which the Iranian six-barrel 30 mm (1.2 in) Kamand anti-aircraft artillery system was installed on it with an opto-electronic system for detecting and tracking targets.
On 1 January 2024, Alborz -- at this point 51 years old -- deployed to the Red Sea after passing through the Bab-el-Mandeb strait
