In this video, we look at simple distillation. First, I discuss how simple distillation is used to separate a soluble substance from a solvent when we want to keep the solvent. I explain the principles behind simple distillation in terms of evaporation and condensation. We then look at the apparatus used in simple distillation, including the role of the condenser and the thermometer.

Is it true that 2024 GCSE students won't be issued a physics formulae equation sheet?

No you will be issued an equation sheet but it will not have all the equations on it. You have to memorise most of them. That's the way it was before COVID.

I'm working on the assumption that it will go back to the way it was before COVID. So an equation sheet with a small number of equations on it. However, we'll find out when the Department of Education lets us know.
