LA City Amrep Octo Garbage Trucks

- Here's a throwback clear back to 2012! It was my first time in California, and I got lucky enough to catch these classic monsters that still dominated the streets of LA at the time! Featured here are a mini Amrep Octo ASL and several full-size Octo ASL's, all on Peterbilt 320 chassis, seen here collecting all three waste streams, and even some 300 gallon containers! There is tons and tons of never-before-seen footage in here. Though the quality and camera work isn't near as good as my more recent works, I thought these trucks were absolutely worth sharing! For those who have been enjoying all these classics I've dug out of my "vault" don't worry, there's still plenty more to come!

As always, a huge thank you goes out to all of these outstanding drivers!

Thanks for Watching!
I like it when the amrep octos are overpowered and smacking the lids like that ❤
6:00 is my favorite part
Epic job! Its really nice too some footage from the vault, brings back great memories!
That really was a top notch summer! I don't think anything will ever quite measure up to it!
Those Los Angeles garbage trucks are too overpowered and I like it
How did I not know this video existed enyways I loved it
I remember when "The Slammers" was a few days old. These beasts are gonna be long gone or already are gone! Great video.
Hey nice la city garbe truck
I got nervous when my truck used to whip lids open luke that. Every once in a while not everything falls out of the cart, and if you're not careful it will launch into oblivion when you try and bring the cart down.
Nice catch, man!
1:14 someone hit by a leaf with overspeed carts
My favourite part was 1:23
Better hope the lid isn't ready to fall off because who knows where that will end up at
Nice

I just stopped by here to mention that I hate how these trucks slam the bins and pick them up so dam quickly! Every single time it tosses all the trash all over the alley and in reality all it does is litter the whole alley while breaking apart all the trash cans. The city of LA should go look at Burbank trucks and see how they dump their load without breaking all the cans and littering! At some point the whole street has broken cans due to the trucks and no one calls in to change them out. Its a wonder how the city allows this to happen what a waste of our tax dollars replacing cans and cleaning the streets back up! Btw awesome video!
I also like it when the truck revs it’s engine while emptying the bins or at least some
lol when it dumps its brutal how fast
636 and 630 is entertaining to watch. Nice catch!
Hmmm I wonder what these trucks are famous for, oh yeah being VERY AGRESSIVE

👍👍👍🤘👍👍👍
Great video can you do more please?
Just yesterday I was watching some of your LABOS videos and then wondered when you were gonna upload again, guess like my question was answered lol. Anyways, pretty neat throwback before the CNGs took over almost every single route. Loved seeing how fast these trucks are, the very last 300s route, the cart lines and even the diesels. I will miss these trucks once they're completely phased out. Awesome video!
I am definitely super glad that I was able to get down to LA just in time to catch all of this back in the day! These old LA City trucks were always my favorites to watch back in the early days of UA-cam, so it was definitely cool to get to experience it for myself first hand! Watching an Amrep slam back 300's was probably the greatest filming experience I've ever had lol!
Garbage Trucks of CA oh
