  • So this is something ive been wanting to do for years and ive been putting it off, but the time is right.. and ive decided to jump right into the deep end.
    Im doing my bike licenses and im going to show the whole process, now I have absolutely zero inclination to drive around on a 125cc, so were going straight for my direct access.. so the right thing to do is buy a ZX6R super bike before I even pass right? of course it is.
    Say hello to my ZX6R 636.. and lets go and get my bike license :)

    Got to be honest mate, i was like you, a staunch car enthusiast. Although i still love cars, bikes are something else! Im much more into bikes now! They're easier to work on, they're rapid for next to no money and they are an experience like no other. Nice bike Lee. You will get the hang of it just takes time. I had a 93 fzr600 3he import that was race preped so can feel the pain. There was no point having a clutch lever a off on switch would have done the same job. Once you have passed I would recommend you do a advance riding training. I done it with the police back in 2000 on a pilot scheme they were running to help reduce bike fatalities if that is possible its normally a car that never notices the bike. It was well worth it they showed how to ride faster yet safer and how to control the bike better than any direct access training. They shown better road positioning how to make the bikes dance at slow speeds and I now know how heavy there bikes were as I have a bmw r1150gs where they had the r1150rt so basically same bike skeleton just appearance and rear shock is different. So can see how they made it look effortless but the reality is they are making 1/4ton bike float around like a feather.

      Will deffo look into this!

    • @paulcushnie
      @paulcushnie 6 місяців тому

      @itsleelockwood also buy the best gear you can afford as it's there to protect you when you need it most. Also, make sure when buying trousers that the knee pads sit right, you don't want the knee pad to sit too high or low as it will damage your knee cap should you come off. I know what it's like to come off and it's not just speed that causes damage. At 15 to 20mph I damaged my wrist, dislocated my shin bone at the knee, and shattered c3 and c4 vertebrae and now have a curved spine. In my case it was a car that pulled out a junction on me I tried to avoid but the way the driver jumped stopped then jumped again he had block the whole road so I went over his bonnet and got caught up with my chin gaurd on the bottom of bumper and the top of my helmet on the road.

    Great 1st bike 👍🏼
    I would just change the clutch springs if those are too hard.
    It's a wet clutch that's why you can slip the clutch unlike a car which will just give you that lovely burnt clutch smell lol.
    That's called a fast idle not a choke 👍🏼

    Nice bike, tbh. U turn tips: look where you want to go. And as you explained kinda, the bike will stand if you get to the bite point, and give it gas but dont fully let the clutch out.
    You can't put your foot down for the MOD1 on the DAS. Which I guarantee will be easier as it's not on a sports bike! But if you can do it on that, the test will be easy! Did my DAS last year. Best thing I did. New sub

    Always remember Lee gentley on the rear brake then the front don’t grab the front brake first seems loads of people go down that way mate also once your on the road and start getting a little confidence try turning opposite while turning a corner and lean more only a slight touch mate but you’ll fly round a corner that way but slow and steady to start with mate no need to prove anything just stay safe 👌

    Props to you for going for your bike test. Well done. I think you’ll struggle a bit with that as a first bike. With the angle of the bars, stiffness of the levers and seat hardness, your arms, fingers and ass are going to burn after an hour of riding. I’m riding a 2021 Ninja 1000, love the bike! After passing my bike test, my Audi SQ5 feels like driving a Nissan Micra.

    awesome to see man and a small tip for you which will help in slow manuvors, Look where you want to go so if a u turn then literally look behind you at where you want to end up and the bike will go there. Also with turning get off centre so lean your body, get your head off centre and the bike will turn alot easier

    I’ve passed my bike test just before Christmas and just a little tip when your doing your cones just play with your clutch it’s all about clutch control to stop you loosing balance at such a slow speed, avoid putting your foot down going around them aswell. My instructor was strict and gave me a hard time 😆

    Passed my test 3 years ago i have had lots of fast cars nothing compares to a bike i got a brand new ZX6r when i passed its a big learning curve slighty wish i got something slower to learn properly at first, starting track days this year just booked donnington, get yourself some proper leathers though i have seen a lot of people get injured unnecessarily from not wearing proper gear, stay safe!.

    Congratulations on bike m8 mega. I run a motocross channel. If you need decant audio from inside your helmet I run a purple panda Microphone. They work a treat for motovlog style content 👌 I currently have a mt09 good luck on mod 1 👊👌
