while I would agree that it is a good looking watch. I am not understanding why it took so long to emerge from their obscure list of projects that have been forgotten. It seems like from the beginning the design was intended for something other then a technical divers or special ops watch. Given that the price is expensive as well, it seems that it is out of place in terms of their most current offering. I would also think that they may want to establish a division of hard core diver watches? maybe is time they lead instead of being micro managed by their Owners Rolex. Overall the watch is very nice looking but I don't see it breaking any type of sales records over the tudor black bay. even questionable if it will become a collectors items, I would assume they are only going to produce a limited amount to manage future sales.
@@danielmelendez9943 Interesting thoughts Daniel. Thank you for sharing them with us... I like this statement very much: ... "maybe is time they lead instead of being micro managed by their Owners Rolex." ... I would very much like to see what would happen!
No, absolutely not. I was just very relaxed and I did not add any emotions to the video... So YOU now are the ones to tell me what's right and what's wrong ...
We can certainly agree that the P01 is a different animal. And yes, Alexander, I think you were right - you either love it or hate it. And, surprisingly, it could become a sought after collectors item over time. Tastes and opinions are ever-changing.
David Levin That’s not mainstream, so the P01 will only please a minority among potential buyers. The watch has some potential for this and that... Let us wait and see...
If the submariner was released along side the PO1 i believe the reception would have been more welcoming. I really like the S & G but as a child of the 80's in my late 40s it suits my taste, not sure what my younger counterparts would enjoy them as much. Maybe we will be rewarded next year with a sub & black bay tweeks.
That p01 came as a shock. After our blood pressure settled down, after we caught our breath... must say.... not too bad. I see i could wear that watch with no issues. It will get a lot of attention for sure. At the end the p01 might be the best tudor release in 2019.
More than intrigued with the PO1, but would have to see it in the metal for sure, before making a purchase or proper verdict. What I do love is that Tudor dared to do this, which is what they are all about when you watch their promotional videos. I for one, do like the S&G chrono. I have been wanting to purchase a vintage chrono for a while, but the upkeep and potential drawbacks (lack of parts etc) has put me off spending 3-5K GBP, so this I think is a great opportunity to have a 'vintage' inspired watch that has brand new Rolex functionality. Personally I prefer the fabric or leather, but would also buy it with the S&G bracelet and that is for 1...to see if I could pull this kind of watch off and 2...if I ever chose or had to sell the watch, I think I could have better luck? I would be interested in what you think about that Alexander if you have the time.
I agree with what you wrote about the vintage watches. Many of them are real ticking divas and therefore a pain on the wrist ... Concerning the S&G chronograph, I would recommend you to buy this Tudor chronograph with the metal bracelet. You can always buy the leather or tissue strap on top and exchange as often you like ...
It’s certainly an odd watch with its long lugs but I like it more than I did at its release. The dial is awesome and reminiscent of the Tudor sub dial. In your opinion, would you rather have the Tudor gmt or P01 for an everyday wear? Thanks.
WatchAdvisor not suggesting that. I was wearing my skx013 and this watch looks familiar. Not saying it’s an homage or copy. Don’t know the history, but the similarities are undeniably there. That said I like the watch! Just strange it doesn’t have a divers bezel
gman6862 I fully understood what you wrote, but I had to make that clear for all the others reading this. If you don’t do it, I learned things are quickly misinterpreted and discussions start...
The P01 does not bother me that much and I think it's quite interesting, still not a watch for me. What Tudor should have done is offer it with bracelet option and maybe two piece rubberrized fabric strap close to the original.
I like the P01. Is a bold proposition from Tudor. Bringing a prototype to life is very playful, a very cool "dare" attitude. Edges are razor sharp and the four o´clock crown is executed in a more expensive look than Seikos, whose four o´clock crowns always look cheap. For me, my 2019 acquisition will be between the P01 or the Autavia.
P01 though it's been criticised a lot, I personally think It's going to be an investment piece , I like it a lot because it's unlike others . It will be a future classic once Tudor discontinues it, the price will rocket !
Hahaha Tudors P01 possibly one if the biggest talking points of the show. Personally I like It, and at least Tudor had the balls to show something different, Rolex take note!
@@wallacejw09 they are in the comfort zone, and companies that do not innovate and move forward often get suddenly left behind, this was Rolexs weakest show ever, changing a bracelet does not make a new watch!

They had some new offerings with there Day date, date just and Oyster lines as well as a new yacht master. Over all pretty bland I agree. The point I was making is that Tudor and Rolex is the same company. The Black Bay P01 just doesn’t work on the hybrid leather and rubber bracelet. Its’ 200 meter water resistance is begging for a metal or rubber bracelet.
the tudor chrono, lets just be for real. Why would I buy a watch at that price that has a gold plated bracelet? the bracelet is what takes a beating, I would understand if I am buying a $50 watch, I expect the watch to come apart, plating to loose color. However, on a tudor, why would you use a gold plating method for the bracelet? this watch is well in the $7k range. I expect more from tudor, gold plating is not acceptable for their status. The chrono s/g is a wonderful looking piece, but...BUT, for the price id rather get a second hand submariner or a new 39mm explorer 214270, thats better value in the long run. the po1 is not that bad looking, but maybe in time, it will be a collectors item, i dont know. great review, thank you.
@@WatchAdvisor I agree on that, and so many said "skx", when they first saw it ( well well, due to the location of the crown etc.), and later when they talked about the PO1. I like the big Tudor P01 with the crown at 4 hours. I prefer the P01 with a stainless steel bracelet not a strap. I like the Black Bay Chronograph but i prefer it in stainless steel not two tone. Bronze is a bad metal to make watches because bronze corrode to much. Maybe silver is a better metal to make watches then bronze.
