    Nice.....Probably one of the best shows on this stream. Now the watch to me its a bit of a misnomer or conundrum. I cant see the link between the US SCRDE or development tech boffins, but who knows? The knocker for me on the watch was the 1600 to 1700 position crown protectors. Had they left that right hand shank/claw alone without fattening it out to fit the crown enclosure it would've been a no brainer. The watch with just a crown and no fancy body work would've been the clincher. Never mind I just cant live with the oddity. IMHO: It didn't need crown protection at that angle as the location is very close to the wrist knuckle. Very best wishes though, Duncan....AVPG Anthony.

    oh this watch is a beast, great video, i tried mesh and links and settled with a reversed canvas strap with tang buckle on the 6 o'clock side, sounds crazy i know but it worked!

    Funky and unique and therefore awesome. It's not for me, but man, I just love how unique it is. Unique designs such as this have so much character in the sea of generic copy and paste safe designs. This reference is similar in unique funkiness as some Seiko watches.

    I love my Tudor P01. My only issue was it coming with a hybrid leather strap, you can't even get it wet. Although I put mine on a black rubber strap and I think it looks more like the original prototype.

      Check out some customised water res @diabliqstraps for the P01. It’s a bit of an investment though. Enjoy your commandos lads.

    Another great video!
    Certainly a stand out Tudor piece haha.
    I guess they made those end link adapters so long for added effect (and needing to incorperate the hinged mechanism) but I think the concept of suppying spare end links that meet a straight strap perfectly, is something that would work well with a lot of watches.

    • @thetimebombardier
      @thetimebombardier  Рік тому +1

    Have you thought of the hour markers used to count hours of radiation or chemical weapons exposure? Was this watch created during the Cold War? It would make sense as a way to count hours of exposure for combatants. From a retired physician.

      @thetimebombardier  7 місяців тому

      Hey James thank you and welcome to the channel, really curious questions there and no I'd never considered that option, the originals were from the early cold war period so makes very good sense!!

  • @Daniel-bv2wc
    @Daniel-bv2wc Рік тому +1

    I currently have an engineer constructing new end links to fit an OEM Tudor bracelet that will fit direct to the case. He plans to make a small run of such links/ bracelets to sell on to enthusiasts that own the P01. After market bracelet and strap options are so poor otherwise. The stock strap is appalling quality for a luxury watch, The strap keepers being especially bad as they disintegrate after a short amount of wear time. Would of thought Tudor would of done something to remedy such a problem.

    • @thetimebombardier
      @thetimebombardier  Рік тому

      Hey Daniel thanks bud and welcome to the channel, yeah it's a curious fail on these but the only thing I can think of as a rationale for their choices is the need to adhere to the original specs, maybe it worked fine back in the 60s but we are more demanding now!! Are you gonna post a vid up about the adapters when they're made? I'm happy to share it here if helpful :) cheers
