I like the fried chicken here where I live in Spartanburg SC , at Cracker Barrel. I know that is a franchise...but the spices they use are perfect! However...the chicken is often overcooked and not juicy. If they could get the chicken right...with those spices, they would have a winner!
@@NOLADEEJ I think I looked at the menu and they cost like twice as much as Popeyes. That's the reason I haven't tried them, can they really be twice as good? I like Popeyes spicy chicken!
@@SkipMDMan I live in the DC area and have been to the Gus's in Greenbelt/College Park probably 6-8 times. (BTW, contrary to the Gus's website and Google, it is still open.) Gus's is distinctly better than Popeyes spicy IMO, and I say that as someone who has been a member of Popeyes Nation for almost 20 years. (I'm also a fan of Bojangles' and Church's spicy, and Gus's beats them too.) My one recommendation is to go there earlier in the day; the chicken seems to be a little better the earlier you go based on my past meals there. The price does mean Gus's is a once every 2-3 months meal.
Good vid my friend....but how does it compare to some of our great NOLA fried chicken? Granted, it's fried chicken, so even the worst is pretty darn good. I'll have to check them out.

Do you have a favorite fried chicken place in your area that you go to?

@@SkipMDMan imagine the difference between eating Domino's Pizza vs a pizza pie from a genuine Italian Pizza spot.
