Yeah man, this video might have actually saved my entire year. I felt really bad I missed a day of the daily habits that would lead me to achieving my goals for this year already, and this triggers all sorts of negative emotions or wanting to put me in the ruts that prevented me from achieving all my goals last year. The mind is a scary thing, if you let your emotions guide you unchecked without observing them & not deciding things purely from what the brain comes up with it can lead you to even worse places to be mentally, negative thoughts overflooded my mind & for the next day I missed half of all the good habits instead of just one, I panicked thinking oh no my current self is never gonna become my ideal self, I'm doomed I might as well give up. Now I'm optimistic, cheerful, and can get back on track without doubt or fear, I know all the new things I do will eventually become routine in a few months and it will get easier.
Man! Do you want Dan's level of wisdom? 1. Take a piece of paper 2. Write a letter to yourself explaining your current struggles and goals 3. Put it into nice envelope 4. Date it for 2025 5. Wait one year 6. Open the letter 7. Be surprised how everything changed 8. Repeat Writing letters to yourself is a great tool for self-reflection leading to wisdom
that does not work at all... that works if you are still in the illusion that life must have purposes, and d that you are in control and that there are right and wrong things for your persona to do and not do.... if you are a kid, yes, then this works... when you have been through life when you have been through a real crisis, which you have not, then you will see that there are not solutions, there are no truths of what actions, routines nad field of work that suits any person, is all an illusion. he starts off well, he is on the right track in analysing how people are today... but the solution is not to just start your lief over in another field of work... an emotional sense, that something feels right will last a short while when you have been through and done most kinds of things in life... is not as easy as it is for kids, people under 35 that is... they are kids who see themselves as amazing and jump on to anything... if you want to go deeper.. that is not the way, a goal means nothing, an e, in that you are a singer, or a business guy, or a doctor.. is all fake... no one is any of those things... and there is nothing that needs to be finished.. how can there be anything that needs to be finished? you are going to die no matter if you finish things or not, so it will never ever matter if you finish anything, because the day you die, there will still be things that are not finished, and nothing makes more sense to life, flow state is in the moment today when you sense it, and it can happen in any subject you do. so there is no subject that relates to you, subjects are made by marketing, by business people wanting to maximise profit and recruitment but they hold no truths, no relation to your actual person... your emotional state is always shifting, how shall you ever know what are YOU? don't be his fanboy.. be your own best fan! 💟
@@moneyInbank I hear you man, these aren’t takeaways from what Dan said verbatim. I’m sorry they weren’t helpful for you. I probably should have said, “My takeaways” lol. What were your top takeaways?
1. Your mind = supercomputer. A lot of people occupy their RAM with thoughts ab past mistakes, future events, distractions etc. Your attention should be on your vision for your life, the plan that would bring you there and the education you consume for that vision. 2. How to win the game? Too much info = anxiety, too little info = boredom so live between the two by learning and than applying. 3. A plan for a meaningful life = New info, create something with the info, practice, teach it to others 4. Create a new game = You need to know how to win, what to do to get there and what are the updates your character needs to succeed.
Same here, I too am 48, and feel as though my life is just beginning, or at least starting from scratch. I guess 48 is not the "old" age it used to be. Thank God it's not too late! Hope you accomplish all your endeavors!
One thing he misses about people who run to secure jobs is that in order to self actualize you have to have a minimum level of safety and security in order to calm your nervous system. The system is broken and it’s not the peoples fault. We have people with billions of dollars literally burning it while others starve on the street.
This is an important miss and itts the foundation of everything. What if you have a pattern, maybe inherited, where in every situation in your life from your earliest memory where highly narcissstic, malignant, psychopathic people have power over you and what you do. What condition do you think someone who hasa had this will be in by their 20s. From the paedophile who abused you as a child, from the boy who abudcted you when you were 4 and tried to murder you by smashing glass into your neck. The highly dysfunctional family. The complete lack of love. No positive parenting. the arrival of a psychopathic stepparrent. Yearrs of gaslighting, abuse, triangulation. At 14 i had at least 4 of these types of people with control over my life. Of course i had passions, i found joy . Childhood is a remarkably rresilient time. Then you hit 20s, it catches up wiht you , you develop mental illness career plans are thwarted. Im not writing this as a cry for pity. But it is very difficult to follow this plan when you are ( or your mind has convinced you) you are completely broken. Just food for thought. Its all learrning!
If your body doesn't feel good, study what you're putting into it. If your mind doesn't feel good, study what you're putting into it. What goes in is what comes out. Swap rituals. Change your intake. The reason why you felt down is because we feel happiest when we are striving towards our goals not when we attain them. We need time to rest and reflect and to allow another passion to move into our sphere. Not having that new passion can cause depression especially in passionate people who lose themselves in the “now” of the artistic “flow”. If we look at the non productive period or “depressed” period of time as a period we are resting in our cocoon awaiting the right time to shed our skin and become a butterfly and fly off into our next period of passion and start our meaningful small steps towards our new goals our depression automatically lifts as we now have meaning again in our lives. That’s why setting goals big or small are good for us and our sense of meaning here on earth. Happy person = mean full life= taking action even in small steps towards an end goal and not the goal itself.
One year ago I started implementing your advice, of course having loads of personal dev work before. Since then I've written a book in two languages and am now an owner of a yoga centre club. Best auto play suggestion in years. Love your stuff. I’ve followed this same method thru other teachings myself many times and I have achieved massive results. Each time I fall, however, one seems to forget that it is repeatable. Each time, one loses confidence. Thanks for the reminder that it’s in the process, and everything is possible
I am listening intently. My downturn(s) are not cyclical...more like always simmering and semi permanent. Yet I have lately been practicing to elevate myself to a more balanced mindset. This video is gold. Thanks!
6:52 is insane because if you ask most people what success means to them, chances are they would respond with “being able to ENJOY life”. You just broke it down by pushing people to find joy in their present moment. Celebrate the process. You must create success internally to be rewarded with success externally! As always, great shit Dan!
Great video Mr.Koe! Noticed the cycles/seasons over the last few years in my own life. It’s like we can sprint, thrive, manifest and win effortlessly for a period then there’s a cool down or losing season where 💩 just happens. Made over $100k in four months during the winning season in 2023. Aiming for $250k in 2024. No matter which season you may be in just know victory or defeat is right around the corner. Prepare accordingly.
right timing man, these cycles are so weird and I used to confuse them (or still confuse) with mental health issues like depression, adhd, whatever. First began noticing them when I started on Twitter. Made that ''One Person Business'' idea my obsession (discovered you and your masterclass there afterwards), had a blast following that road, noticed myself slipping and tried to stop it from happening, ended up signing up for college which put a nail in the coffin. Well after that I found another obsession, this time fixing my environment because through that Twitter road I figured that's what's in my way. Did that and now I feel myself losing the grip on that ''purpose''. Anyway, crazy to think this was 1 year, I miss those times and the people I've met there. want to start again, but im kinda very tired, just a little break..
I loved this video! Thank you so much. The title caught me straight up, as I am VERY much feeling like that. You not only relate but provide true examples and guidance. I have saved this for future reference Thank you 🙏
The part about taking in the right amount of new information and then using that info to go and build something really hit home for me. I tend to overload on information and then my brain becomes too overwhelmed to take real action steps. As someone trying to start a business while working a full-time job, your videos are helping me to gain focus and clarity. Now it’s time to execute even if it’s just 30-60 minutes a day. Thanks for your dense and detailed content, Dan! 🙏🏽
Insane value here! I discovered your content a couple of months ago. Just as I was coming to the conclusion of going all in on my digital entrepreneurship journey, I start seeing your videos. I love the authenticity and the realness here. Tnx, Dan! Here's to all of us believing in ourselves and making 2024 an awesome year.
This video came out at such a perfect time for me. Built a shitload of momentum Q4 of last year, then the holidays knocked me off my routine. Woke up today, on a sunday, feeling down in the dumps, then got the notification that this video came out. I went back to my Journal/planners, focused, reflected, and now I have a game plan going into the first full work week of 2024. Thank you Dan.
i used to think i could escape the matrix - building companies, joining startups, quitting jobs. it's all laughable - there's no real way to escape. i think the world is a series of matrixes stacked on top of each other. i'm a new creator who writes the occasional thought essay - sharing stories through food, as a vehicle. videos like yours are what inspired me to start this page. excited to see where this goes next. happy 2024!
Dan, I've been binging your content and I can honestly say your content has really inspired me to live such a better life! Like actually have the tools to build a business. I really appreciate everything you've done for this community! Love your work!
Life is ups and downs and we expect to be stable it's against the nature. If we become okay with ups and downs then all our problems will not feel like forever.
Hey Dan Koe, Just wanted to drop a comment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the immense value your content brings. Over the past six months, your UA-cam videos have been a constant source of inspiration and learning for me. Can't thank you enough for the insights and knowledge you generously share. Your contributions have truly made a significant impact on my journey. Thanks a million, man! 🙌
Nice.when im down i seek out the orphans and widows...ppl without voices that need help at like shelters or hospitals. Its rewarding and gets your mind off self. To see just HOW blessed You are.
ughhhh this is the exact video I was looking for! This is where I am. Feel like I've lost my "fire" I've always been an ambitious dreamer and doer. Lately, I haven't felt motivation or enthusiasm for life in general. I need to get my fire back! It feels good to know this is a normal thing to go through.

Don't stress yourself with a routine, plan, work week, etc. Just listen to your body and follow your mind, knowing that routines and plans can be broken and adjusted in a way you deem fit. When you feel in the waters that the current is against you, would you paddle against it, or navigate through its flow? Don't be ashamed to break or change the routine/plan once in a while when you sense you should. It's not ill discipline, it's to be in flow, it's agency, autonomy. Move like water, and let its current guide, cleanse and polish you.
Months of studying dans content & courses (a few other courses), trial & error, and finally having the overall system click. Came back here to fuel the next product. Novelty feels good.
Ive overloaded myself with so much reading, writing, and consuming that I’m frozen. I constantly create in my mind, on paper, and on my phone, but I fail to release it to the universe. I’m anxious in my own skin and can’t sit still, but I don’t know where to start because I’ve never been in this space before.
Hey Dan! 10 minutes before I started to watch your video, I was meditating and then I made some mind rehearsals about the exactly same topic you are describing here along this video! I got your vibe! Goosebumps!!!😊 Good vibes for you!
Women live through these cycles every month. And then we go through bigger cycles of it, like you’re talking about at the beginning. Learning to support ourselves through ‘winter’ every month helps when going through larger dormant cycles.
I am new to your channel. Love your work. I’m ADD and really needed this big time. You are a great teacher sir. Thanks for sharing. 🤘🏽😎 wish you were around when I was younger fumbling aimlessly through life. I’m in my 60’s trying to sort out the rest of my time on this planet.
It's normal to feel a down phase after accomplishing a huge goal. Before reaching the goal, everything we do has a common destination and direction. After we finish whatever project, this direction is lost and there's no destination to go to so it seems pointless. One thing we can do to avoid that is to remember that we don't do our daily routines of good habits for a goal, but because they are a necessity to be done. Even the goals we have, like writing a book, getting more money etc are not truly "our" goals. It's necessary to do these things and that's why we do them. Not for any other reason. Then we perhaps avoid falling into these holes after finishing a project. Read the first sentence again tho.
Thank you Dan, your videos are always in the right moment which again proves we are all experiencing similar challenges just on different levels. I love your videos for grounding and always coming out with the take away of always having the solution to the next step. And often it’s so much easier and obvious than our mind tends to think. Sometimes it feels like Dan is the instruction to life

Face your fears. Try new and different things. Get out of your comfort zone. Take on challenges. That's the only way to build self-knowledge, self-trust, and confidence. Otherwise, there's a risk that you'll spend your whole life on auto-pilot, never reaching your full, amazing potential, and living a life that you didn't really choose. That's the battle we all must fight as adults - if we want to live freely, consciously, meaningfully and authentically
Been in a hole for about 4-5 years. Ran out of people to cover it with. Running out of ideas to counter it. I tried music. I tried programming. Tried to build out my home training routine and got a tennis elbow 🤣 I still think I can make it work - but I need to feel better. I need people for that, but the walls have become very impressive.
Dry, verbally. Thanks for the excellent information. Followed your channel along and listened to you to begin to manifest a UA-cam channel and be consistent with it. Thanks, Dan.
just discovered you. this is gonna mean THE WOOOOOORLD TO ME. no, THE WHOOOOLE UNIVERSE TO ME. I almost lost hope. Man. … this feels like the last chance and it feels like not only that I’ll take it but that it’ll make it happen. January 16th okay. ♥️
hi dan read your full book . It is really a mind opener which is more than a eye opener for me. I come from a southern state of India and I make book summaries. i feel the knowledge you have shared in your book must be shared to my people out here and next week I will make a detailed podcast of your book . Been reading it second time, please make your hard copy available in India as I am not seeing it here and Kindle version is too costly . I bought it but many cannot afford there . Your Book changed my Life and I want it to change many others too on how to find their Lifes purpose before it Entopies
I appreciate your content so much Dan, and I am an old skool raver and former Mormon (some things in common) - thank you for helping me see that I can do this and helping me remove my excuses. I absolutely enjoy being productive.
Dan is not someone you can listen to in the background. I try to listen at work but I end up stopping work to focus on what he’s saying and never regret it.
Dan, I really appreciate your contents. they are right at the point but i think take some rest. You need to avoid burn out. We need your wisdom and guidance. so, taking is part of the business and i can feel you need rest. Rest and enjoy watching on impact for sometime.

This is actually a really great video packed with a ton of great knowledge. I took a ton of notes and put in my calendar to action them this evening. Thank you buddy!
Dan - synchronicity is real. I've been going hard and progressing pretty steadily but all of a sudden on my day off I just crashed...I'm not enjoying anything. Im in the "rabbit hole of obsession" as you said
I’m glad to hear that you’re just as susceptible to the disruptions that the holidays can do to our routines. I was very hard on myself during the holidays because I didn’t feel like I did enough. I love the advice I get from your videos because they’re realistic.
This happened to me, I started a motion graphics business 5 years ago and first 2 years was amazing and then out of nowhere I just lost the drive for it and then clients weren't ordering as much which made my mental state worse!
Enlightment hit me when Dan said: Setting goals are not for achieving, they are for clarity" 👌

an emotional sense, that something feels right will last a short while when you have been through and done most kinds of things in life...
is not as easy as it is for kids, people under 35 that is...
they are kids who see themselves as amazing and jump on to anything... if you want to go deeper.. that is not the way, a goal means nothing, an e, in that you are a singer, or a business guy, or a doctor.. is all fake...

Mood tracking helps me. Knowing that I had those moods and highs makes me feel nice because those memories come to mind.
Dude I was amazing two weeks before the new year. Having two drinks in new years knocked me out of my momentum. Never drinking again tbh

i used to think i could escape the matrix - building companies, joining startups, quitting jobs.
it's all laughable - there's no real way to escape.
i think the world is a series of matrixes stacked on top of each other.
i'm a new creator who writes the occasional thought essay - sharing stories through food, as a vehicle. videos like yours are what inspired me to start this page. excited to see where this goes next.
Exactly, no feeling is final jst keep going
Hey Dan Koe,
Just wanted to drop a comment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the immense value your content brings.

Accurate statement Dan "Setting goals are not for achieving, they are for clarity"
How to win the game of life is through our mind..this is mind blowing..thank you for giving value to me🎉
Don't stress yourself with a routine, plan, work week, etc.

This was incredibly timely for me today. Thank you!
Months of studying dans content & courses (a few other courses), trial & error, and finally having the overall system click. Came back here to fuel the next product.
Novelty feels good.
The Book is awesome Dan. I highly recommend it to everyone.
I am with you Dan - all 2024. I need this frequency… I will be getting the book on audible. Although I want the physical copy too.
Your advice is always given in such a friendly and warm manner. It's simple and focused. Thankyou
I love the minimum viable vision concept!
it finally breaks the overwhelm down and incldues iteration
Hey Dan!
10 minutes before I started to watch your video, I was meditating and then I made some mind rehearsals about the exactly same topic you are describing here along this video!
I got your vibe! Goosebumps!!!😊
Good vibes for you!
Listen to you on the treadmill every day. Love this one. On my third listen. Ty. Great, insightful job. ❤
This video is so clear and easy to understand that it motivates me
I’m preordering just in your intro alone. Thank you for putting out a statement that’s so relatable to me personally right now.

Read "The Alchemist". Same premise. Great video.
Writing letters to ourselves? That's a brilliant idea. Thank you for sharing it.😊
This video was amazing, you have such a with words- I believe it’s more then your education and self reflection, in my opinion you were born with a special gift… I thank you for sharing that gift with us all.. I’ve been on this platform for your- in just one video which led to many many more videos lol as well as your 2 hr writing course 🙌🏽 has literally changed the course of my days and nights and for that I say THANK YOU.. May God keep blessing you ❤
The default path doesn’t work for me. Got to keep going! This is great stuff!!
Cant remember when last you put out a video based on a letter so close to the letters release. Brilliantly insightful as always Dan.
A powerful way to start a new year, thank you so much Dan..
You're doing great work, Mr. Koe, may god bless you for inspiring us
Been in a hole for about 4-5 years. Ran out of people to cover it with.
Running out of ideas to counter it. I tried music. I tried programming. Tried to build out my home training routine and got a tennis elbow 🤣
I still think I can make it work - but I need to feel better. I need people for that, but the walls have become very impressive.
I honestly gain so much value from your content .Thank you Dan for sharing 👊🏼
This felt very authentic and inspiring. I will try to put this into practice. Thank you.
Smile sometimes that may help you find joy
hi dan read your full book .
I love this! I know this but forget and get lost
I'm very much looking forward to The Art of Focus! Let's gooooooo!
One of the most important videos humanity needs right now, like right fuvking now
Thanks Dan. I’m about to open up the notebook and write out a viable plan. Will check out Two Hour Writer.
I appreciate your content so much Dan, and I am an old skool raver and former Mormon (some things in common) - thank you for helping me see that I can do this and helping me remove my excuses. I absolutely enjoy being productive.
Thank you for your awesome content 😍
Dan is not someone you can listen to in the background. I try to listen at work but I end up stopping work to focus on what he’s saying and never regret it.
I realized this too. Now I have to schedule time to exclusively listen without distractions.
Dan, I really appreciate your contents. they are right at the point but i think take some rest. You need to avoid burn out. We need your wisdom and guidance. so, taking is part of the business and i can feel you need rest. Rest and enjoy watching on impact for sometime.
Appreciate the clarity here, you must have taken some time to distill these ideas.
thanks, Dan Koe! I learned a lot! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

Love you back! Your videos always calm and ground me.
PERFECT TIMING
So actionable. So motivating. Let's go.
Dan - synchronicity is real. I've been going hard and progressing pretty steadily but all of a sudden on my day off I just crashed...I'm not enjoying anything. Im in the "rabbit hole of obsession" as you said
Thank you Dan! I feel like a sponge to your content.
Yo it would be cool if you made a video showing an example of how you would use your planner.
