She adds her own flair. "OMG, did that just happen?"
just have to remember that 48uur-Floor has rehearsed it so well in 48hours that she can sing along exactly like Marco and that at the very first performance you do to the audience such a good reaction of : "wow is this what we do now already get to hear from you" on your very first gig that must be so awesome and also boost your awesome . and certainly a good feeling after her burn-out, which she had only just come out of. because she said in an interview that if Nightwish had called just 1 week earlier, a Floor & Nightwish would never have come then. it seems scary to me that's why I just had a burnout and then you just step into such an adventure , away from home environment , away from your family for support , you have to dare to do it at THAT moment
🤩👍💥💯 Thinking how much post engineering in sound there actually is on the version with Anette Olzon on vocals (???) 🙄 Though nice "pile up" of three "Planet Hell" live versions... 🤘😎🇫🇮💙

The Annette Video is not from a jazz festival but from a pre tour rehearsal in the States. I really good song that really highlights Tarjas voice and really focus's on her but is still from Nightwish is Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan. It is a beautiful ballad and one of the few Nightwish songs in Finnish. From the End of an Era concert. ua-cam.com/video/VSMCD39EIMc/v-deo.html. I like that you are gentil and respectful. Thank you ❤ It's not necessary and possible to compare. Marco and Tarja were much younger. If Floor would have sang this in between 2007 and 2010 her operatic voice was much stronger. And many like more her belting and growling. Anett has a different voice.
Some of Annette's best stuff is off the albums, that weren't done live, or you can't find a live performance of, such as "Turn Loose the Mermaids", "The Crow, the Owl and the Dove", "Meadows of Heaven", "Eva", "For the Heart I Once Had"
Actually there's two rare lives of Anette singing "Meadows of Heaven". One of them is with the band on Helsinki in 2009. The other is in Finland with an Orchestra, but without the band. Unfortunately the latter is the one with the better audio. And she kills the performance. But I really wish we had lives of "Turn Loose the Mermaids" and "For the Heart I Once Had".
Hey Enter the Cronic funny thing everytime I type that I think of my all time favorite Tagteam wrestlers the team of KroniK anywho great reaction I have seen others react to a triple bill of Sleeping Suns tho I recall only watching one I agree with thumbnail lady Anette is poppy but as I might have said b4 Anette's song to do is Bye Bye Beautiful one of her best mainly because there is no version of it with the Goddess Floor and never will the official video is the one to do plus it has equal amount of Marko and I enjoy Anette the third most after Floor n Marko and my first song I ever heard was by her was Amaranth which also has a great official video
You almost had it right, 2 out of 3 real live ;) For anyone interested in hearing Anette's version in front of a real live audience, here's the search title that I provided some time ago with the other two: "Nightwish - Planet Hell (Live at Montreux Jazz Festival)". That's why I started providing search titles only, so that you can at least look for them yourself. Anyhew, ty for this special one. You guys rock! 🤘
Now, compare Floor's first concert (in this video I believe) to some of her latest with this same song. Try Hellfest 2022 Planet Hell version. Floor sings the whole song! While I miss Marco vocals, she does fantastic with it!
@Huh it's impressive that she can pull it off, but I agree it's not really better, specially when Marko voice is so integral part of the song Anyway I do appreciate they made the effort to keep the song in their setlists
I know that Annette can be inconsistent when it comes to her live performances, but in this case I think it's a style choice. I recently saw an interview with her where she explained that the high pitched sound is the way she likes to sing. Personally I prefer her lower register, like in slow Love Slow. But for me, this isn't a Tarja, Annette, Floor or even Marko song. it's a Jukka song.
If the wife wants to check out a tarja Solo effort that rocks out I recommend the album what lies beneath and the song crimson deep it's a great song very heavy and somewhat sludgy. LoL 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think got better in her late forties. Floor does an amazing job doing her and Marco's parts. ( Anette) Tarja is amazing also she really loves to do Classicals. Ava Maria Pie Jesu Amazing Grace. I think she would love the video Paradise with Sharon den Adel and Tarja Turunen. Sharon is Within Temptation. Anette is 50. You should still do this song from Hellfest. You can see her husband in the wings. The video with Floor is 2012 when she joined them in the states. This is from the learn setlist in 48 hrs
I've always loved Tarja's version! (Anette doing Tarja songs is a NO for me). For me the *definitive* Live version of this song is the most recent at Hellfest 2022, Floor has so much POWER and she sings both Marko's and Tarja's parts. For Anette however, her recent solo CD is amazing and she is great in the Dark Element!!!
It should be noted that this is not a live recording with the Anette version. With very few exceptions she sounds live not good, she only sounds good in the studio (at least at Nightwish times) and then only for people who like pop voices in metal. I am not one of them . Tarja's version comes just behind Floor's for me. Both versions are great. Without Marko, Floor now sings this song alone. But still in such a way that you can clearly distinguish which part originally belonged to Marko. That is already outstanding good.
Anette was sick a lot (she wasn't up to the rigors of touring with a top-notch band). However, she was also pregnant during part of her time, and then lost a custody battle. Because studio recording is less stressful, all people are better in studio. Anette is best in studio because she can not be stressed with touring (which is not her strong suit). She has her own songs now and is also a nurse.
I will disagree on you on this. At the time a lot of people doubted it was live, but it was and the band made it clear. And at the time I made sure to watch other performances by her of the song and if you look for other performances of this song live shows without the production of this video she will sound just like in this video, so..... She can do it. Although she really sounded bad at the beginning, back in 2008 when she was still adjusting to songs that weren't written for her (because Dark Passion Play was already partially recorded when she came in). But the lives in 2009 already were better and in 2012 at Imaginaerum shows she just was good. I don't think she is an outstanding singer, she is good, but just that. But I think people look down on her more than she deserves. AND some songs of Imaginaerum made for her I just think her voice is more suitable. Like, people LOVE Floor singing Ghost River because of the range, and the growls, but if you consider the meaning of the lyrics and the duet, Anette's performance as a mother in pain is just more fit. Other thing I like to note: when I hear Anette's rendition of Planet Hell I DON'T think of pop, I think of hard rock.
This was not Tarja's best concert so it's a shame it gets used a lot in reaction videos. Marco sounds always awesome! Anette...well, her voice is not bad but this is all almost too much for her. She did have some great notes in this song, though- like that "you challenged the gods and loooooost!" was amazing! 😊 She has grown on me a little I think. Floor is very talented and I do respect her as a singer, but at the same time I feel like she (still) sings like she's covering someone. Like I can hear many other metal singers in her, if that makes sense? A jack of all trades (but master of none).
i still think it was a weird decision of nightwish to cast a pop/rock singer directly after such an operatic singer like tarja. The casting of floor seemed to me like an "oops, dear fans, we know, we made a mistake, here, you get a more operatic (although not quite), but more versatile voice again.". Funny thing to me again is, annette in her new band - the dark element - sound much more like tarja in nightwish - and also looks a lot more like her - than anette in her nightwish era...
Thanks for doing this amazing song, and with all three singers. And it proves, once and for all, that Marko is the best Nightwish singer of all time. That said, in MHO Tarja handles this song better then Floor. In Floor's defense, this was her FIRST show with Nightwish (Seattle 2012), so she had not found her feet yet. Annette is not good on this song, her voice is too poppy and lacks the range required. And Jukka is absolutely fire on this song. The toms and double kicks are point on and his other work is top notch. Keep rocking🤘🤘🤘
NOPE. Marco's voice is powerfull, but it is also uncontrolled shouting. Marco is not able to sing subtle or soft lines. That makes him great for specific parts, but he could never a (succesfull) leadsinger. (Why is Marco's band not world famous yet if he is so much better as you think??)
@@rientsdijkstra4266 Guess you have never seen him win the Masked Singer-Finland, sing with Nightkings, sing in Ayreon, or sing with his band tarot. Lots of things you seem to have been asleep for. (BTW, Tarot IS a world famous band)
@@alancarter41 Marco has a powerfull voice as said, but I saw him sing with Ayreon, and in some other cases that I cant really remember, and what attracted my attention is that his limitations show more clearly when he can't limit himself to the supporting role. I am sorry, but that is my opinion.
@@rientsdijkstra4266 Well, we all know what they say about opinions. I will go with what numerous voice experts have said, that Marko has outstanding range, presence, and skill. Enjoy your day.
In my opinion, Anette was a miscast.A good pop singer - but not anymore. For me, Tarja is the Queen of Nightwish and I love her voice. What really happened back then is none of my business. And then there's Floor... she is the Goddess of Nightwish! She picked up where Tarja left off and led the band to Olympus! But all 3 have one thing in common - they all gave everything for the band and that deserves respect.
@@enterthecronic Yes, thank you. Sorry that I said my opinion so directly, but I grew up in Germany and here you don't talk around for a long time, but get to the point. But that's never meant rudely.
Floor was more metal... Well said. Floor sings this songs only a few months after entering the band (and still kills it) while Tarja had been doing it for many years. And still Floor sounds better...
This song is from the Once album in 2004 and Tarja's live is in 2005, so not so many years of live practice, but of course Tarja doesn't kill it but keeps it alive.
@@terox3282 A litte linguistics: "Killing it" means doing it so WELL that further commentary is useless, "(barely) keeping it alive" on the other hand means doing so BAD and weakly that it nearly passed away... (which one just managed to prevent...).

Anettes version wasn't even really a live recording because she is live mostly way worse. Floor on the other hand, that was her very first concert with Nightwish after she had to learn the whole set in 48 hours and she easily slayed Anette already. I don't compare Floor to Tarja, there both in a class of their own, there are some songs i like more from Tarja and others from Floor, but that can even change due to my daily mood.
Anette live isnt way worse. She's pretty good but I think you have high expectations for her, especially comparing her to Floor. Two different singing techniques and vocal ranges as well as backgrounds.
Anette's version on this is really not so different of other videos with less production. I've seen it. She did that just fine. She wasn't constantly delivering THAT quality, but she DID deliver it more frequently than you guys give her credit.
So you chose Tarja's last ever show with the band (after seven years with the band) and compared that to Floor's first EVER show. Not a great comparison IMO i'm afraid to say guys. Maybe as a separate reaction you can cover Hellfest 2022? Take care anyway

I really loved your reaction together again! I can't remember I've heard your wife's name before, but my memory isn't as good as it used to be. Nice to meet you Alana, great insights! (ow, i'm suddenly in doubt if I remembered that correctly). Btw, Tarja and Floor are old friends. They still are. If you want to do another Anette song, I reccommend 'Scare tale", live of course.
Alanna is her name! :)
@@enterthecronic Well, I was close at least ;)
I would check out The Dark Element to see more of Annette and her solo stuff as well.
Floor always makes it her way and better in my opinion with all due respect to Tarja.❤
Son Canciones que parecen hechas a medida de Tarja.....
Planet Hell, The Siren, etc.....❤
You guys, here's another great live performance with Anette Olzen. From the same concert in 2012 where she sang Planet Hell. Search title: "Nightwish-Over The Hills And Far Away (with anette)". I dare you to check it out! Cheers from Amsterdam😉🤘
Thank you so much!
Jukka is crazy good, Tarja & Marko! "Jack Sparrow" on keyboards :)
There was a British TV triller called "Who pays the Ferryman".
Check Steve 'n' Seagulls with Tarja!
Anettes Album was the biggest seller... Popular appeal? Eyebrows & air drums!
Emppus guitar sounds different. Anette, "Scaretale", "Slow, Love, Slow", is it "Meadows of Heaven"?
Floors first show! She adds her own flair. "OMG, did that just happen?"
I'm in for doing the entire Imaginaerum album!
just have to remember that 48uur-Floor has rehearsed it so well in 48hours that she can sing along exactly like Marco and that at the very first performance you do to the audience such a good reaction of : "wow is this what we do now already get to hear from you" on your very first gig that must be so awesome and also boost your awesome .
and certainly a good feeling after her burn-out, which she had only just come out of.
because she said in an interview that if Nightwish had called just 1 week earlier, a Floor & Nightwish would never have come then.
it seems scary to me that's why I just had a burnout and then you just step into such an adventure ,
away from home environment , away from your family for support , you have to dare to do it at THAT moment
Hellfest 2022 with only floor is the best
Hellfest is a awesome version with Floor doing all the vocals.
🤩👍💥💯
Thinking how much post engineering in sound there actually is on the version with Anette Olzon on vocals (???) 🙄
Though nice "pile up" of three "Planet Hell" live versions...
🤘😎🇫🇮💙
Thank you so much this was all for fun. I think people are taking this as a competition when it was purely just to enjoy ourselves
@@enterthecronic
As they always do when it comes to lead vocalists. Basically in between the 1st < ------ > the 3rd.
Unfortunately this never ending "battle" seems to continue day after day, year after year.....
Passion is a great feature on people's character but being fanatic, literally, tells something about a person.
Those devoted ones who swear in the name of the first lead vocalist often says:
"I stopped listening them after when (name) left the band....."
Notice; 'Left' the band like she had a choice back then. Yet these same fanatics are still throwing comments on Nightwish reaction videos especially when a song is from their first era despite who is performing this particular song.
Why wouldn't we all can enjoy of their tasty repertoire from the first album to this day and let the music do the talking (???)
✌️😁👌
Tarja 100%
The Annette Video is not from a jazz festival but from a pre tour rehearsal in the States. I really good song that really highlights Tarjas voice and really focus's on her but is still from Nightwish is Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan. It is a beautiful ballad and one of the few Nightwish songs in Finnish. From the End of an Era concert. ua-cam.com/video/VSMCD39EIMc/v-deo.html. For Annette the best songs are the ones Tuomas wrote for her. Concur with Meadows of Heaven and Slow Love Slow but one of my favorites is The Crow, The Owl and The Dove. Such a beautiful song. ua-cam.com/video/iyY5QMf41dk/v-deo.html. Video was the winner in a contest run by Nuclear Blast Records and the band for fans to create a music video. I like her post Nightwish work even better, especially with The Dark Element and her collaborations with Russell Allen from Symphony X and Ayreon (President in the Day that the World Breaks Down). Her voice has continued to mature, adding more depth to her tone.

Hellfest!!!! Check it out. 2nd song of setlist.
I like that you are gentil and respectful. Thank you ❤ It's not necessary and possible to compare. Marco and Tarja were much younger. If Floor would have sang this in between 2007 and 2010 her operatic voice was much stronger. And many like more her belting and growling. Anett has a different voice.
I think seeing Annette at her best is on Scaretale, which would be perfect for the season.
Oh that would be a good one too!
Some of Annette's best stuff is off the albums, that weren't done live, or you can't find a live performance of, such as "Turn Loose the Mermaids", "The Crow, the Owl and the Dove", "Meadows of Heaven", "Eva", "For the Heart I Once Had"
And then the big mistery: "why where they not done live..."? You don't need to answer...
Floor at hellfest and the virtual show, for me the best.
Thank you
For Annette, you can react to The Dark Element, Song the Night Sings!!! An awesome song!!! ❤
Hey! Thanks, Jason!
I love the wrestling comment!
You almost had it right, 2 out of 3 real live ;) For anyone interested in hearing Anette's version in front of a real live audience, here's the search title that I provided some time ago with the other two: "Nightwish - Planet Hell (Live at Montreux Jazz Festival)". Will provide the link in a follow-up since the filters on this channel seem to suppress many a comment with links in it. Cheers! 🤘
Thanks Brendon!
@@enterthecronic No problem. Could you perhaps verify if it's your channel's filters? May also be YT acting up, but I've noticed that you're a very dedicated reactor, answering to every comment. Kudos!! But every comment with a YT link (not only mine) in it doesn't get your icon attached to it. It's almost as if you can't see them. That's why I started providing search titles only, so that you can at least look for them yourself. Anyhew, ty for this special one. You guys rock! 🤘

@@alancarter41 Yes, I suspected that much..
These old NW songs are not for Anettes voice, Slow Love Slow, Meadows of heaven etc she nailed.
Now, compare Floor's first concert (in this video I believe) to some of her latest with this same song. Try Hellfest 2022 Planet Hell version. Floor sings the whole song! While I miss Marco vocals, she does fantastic with it!
Yea we need to check out that Hellfest version!!
@Huh it's impressive that she can pull it off, but I agree it's not really better, specially when Marko voice is so integral part of the song
Anyway I do appreciate they made the effort to keep the song in their setlists
Anette is my fovorit
when TL took over... 😄
Omg right!!!
Annette;s version of this song might be my favorite...
🤗🍒🤘🏻
I know that Annette can be inconsistent when it comes to her live performances, but in this case I think it's a style choice.
I recently saw an interview with her where she explained that the high pitched sound is the way she likes to sing.
Personally I prefer her lower register, like in slow Love Slow.
But for me, this isn't a Tarja, Annette, Floor or even Marko song.
it's a Jukka song.
Let’s go Jukka!!!
You're always entitled to your own opinion. And yeah, Floor is more metal, I agree! Floor is my fav.
Please can you do this song from hellfest this year , floor sings both parts and is awesome 🤟🇬🇧🇬🇧🤟
Yep no problem!
You should try new song RAPTURE by Anette Olzon. ✌️🤘
Tarja and Floor versions still amazing, I think the voice of Annette it doesn’t fit with this song but sounds great
If the wife wants to check out a tarja Solo effort that rocks out I recommend the album what lies beneath and the song crimson deep it's a great song very heavy and somewhat sludgy. LoL 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
1: The sheer power of Floor’s voice
2: Anette singing it perfect with Marko
3: Tarja’s version
Well said!!
my personal favorite all-Floor version is from the 2nd night of An Evening with Nightwish in a Virtual World (ua-cam.com/video/Y_wKS-zBt40/v-deo.html)
Thanks NoOne!
@@jeffreyphipps1507 floor is better live imo (her studio versions sounds ''to clean'' for me)
I will disagree on you on this.
Also I have to add that Floor put in a lot of effort to understand Finnish and to be able to sing it. Have to respect that.
I love Floors version at hellfest and everywhere else but its not with Marco ...
The Helsinki 2012 version is with Marco and its killer.
Try deichbrand version .
i still think it was a weird decision of nightwish to cast a pop/rock singer directly after such an operatic singer like tarja.
Thank you so much Alan!!
So much words about 4 singers while we all know the best ingredient for this song was Jukka the drummer.
Let’s go Jukka!!!
Very well said Kelsey! I hope you’re doing well
@@enterthecronic Yes, thank you. Sorry that I said my opinion so directly, but I grew up in Germany and here you don't talk around for a long time, but get to the point. But that's never meant rudely.
Very well said Kelsea! I totally agree. And I so enjoy all the eras with every singer 😄🤘🏻
@@Kelsea-2002 Haha great. You could be a Dutchie. We're kinda straightforward & to the point too. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘
@Huh Well, preference is personal, so I won't argue with that. I prefer Floor, but I wish you lots of enjoyment with Tarja
@@terox3282 A litte linguistics: "Killing it" means doing it so WELL that further commentary is useless, "(barely) keeping it alive" on the other hand means doing so BAD and weakly that it nearly passed away... (which one just managed to prevent...).
That was their first tour performing that song. She was also so sick, she couldn’t sing at morning rehearsals. I think it’s quite a good comparison.
@@rientsdijkstra4266 A little bit poetics: only dogs kill their prey immediately, cats keep their prey alive longer. I like cats, they are so cute.
Why she is wearing lifebuoy underneath? 😂
First Floor show with Nightwish were she just had learned the lyrics. You did give her much chance to be compared did you 🤣
If you think this video is a competition/comparison opposed to being a “showcase of talent”:
A.) your late to the party
B.) if you read my couple of community posts on this video or listened to the video the whole way, you would of known this ISN’T A COMPETITION. Showcasing people singing the same song is all this is.
C.) the joke a few of you have now made (which isn’t funny btw) is how this wasn’t a fair video…. The only joke I have found so far from this video is how some people have voiced what they think is a joke (this video isn’t FAIR), but in reality your ignorance and poor joking skills is what is FUNNY.
A lot of people cast stones before they realize the stones need to hit them first.
I appreciate the comments Bjorne. I know your trying to be funny. I don’t always normally reply to every troll like comment. But sometimes I do. And I choose you this morning.
Floor is amezing, the Hellfest and deichbrand version 2022 with only Floor on vocals i love even more
Anette with The Dark Element: ua-cam.com/video/H-vyg5Vvg3I/v-deo.html
I love the Hellfest version that Floor did probably best, this song demands some grit (at least in my opinion) and Floor is the only one that delivers 🤘🏽
I am very excited to check that version out
All hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of Nightwish and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!!!!😀👍👍👍👍🤘
Annette phenomenally....really?!? Have you heard her sing Ghost Love Score live..
It really hurts to listen her sing live.
In studio recording, she is ok but live..... not so much.
I guess, Floor got me good 🤘🤘🤘
I loved her in slow love slow at the jazz festival. Haven’t heard anything else from her. Floor was my favourite too
You re not gonna believe me but I prefer Hellfest 2022…
We are going to check that one out too :)
Just needed to hear the first one to find out which i like the best. Marco do a great jobs as always. Tarja is as always her stereotype self. Dramatic operatic and the reason i did not like Nightwish back then. I actually like Anette better. Floor is Floor just amazing.❤️🤗😎
Thanks Bjorne!
Con Tarja toca el cielo está canción las otras versiones también son buenas pero no superan a Marko y tarja😊
What about reacting to Allen/Olzon - "All Alone" - Official Music Video | (Russell Allen, Anette Olzon, Magnus Karlsson) (Russel Allen: Symphony X, Ayreon) ua-cam.com/video/0_z0rCIvZjU/v-deo.html
Floor sings an octave higher in the choruses of this song, which gives it so much more power.
OK Kevin.
