As a 23 year user of FL Studio and love using the DAW, the most frustrating thing about FL Studio is it's weird and bizarre way of making plugins that just confuse people. They don't stick to industry standards instead make weird ways of doing simple tasks that require more learning and slow down the most important thing and that is the part of actually making music.

@@andrewsanabria5942 Well, what does "enhancing" the sound mean? Maximus is a multibrand compressor, but soft clipper is just a saturation/distortion plugin. The soft clipper is the quick and dirty way to get hard drums, but Maximus is a longer process to set up. If you are trying to bang out many beats a day, soft clipper makes more sense. Soft clipper doesn't have to do as much, especially if you don't want it to.

For music that doesn't require much...it's probably made for it. Music with a more demanding need, other than simple, what a joke. A DAW that plays awesomely while your music inside of it, but once your take it from the DAW, you get total garbage. This thing sucks in every way. Hate it. Don't ever use it. Rubbish.

Thank you very much for these tips! How can I get (or where can I find) Maximus without buying it? It is too expesinsive and I am not making money from my music. I am just a hobbyist

I bought Maximus like 10 years ago... I'm using Reaper now, primarily, is Maximus available as a vst, or is it an FL only, I'm kind of missing the old boy?

Thanks for the tutorial! I actually already used Maximus a lot, but I didn't knew about the sustain part so I'm really glad you mentioned all knobs about this plugin :D

I know this video is forever old and you've probably made a newer version but I just saw you missed out on a critical use of the saturation function! You can set the saturation at a minimum to one side (the one which covers the entire monitor at 0%) and leave the ceiling in the default position to make an extra layer of brickwall limiting!
It's hard to explain but for the situation where, like you said, adding post gain would put you into clipping territory, the saturation functions as a clipping tool almost. I hope that made sense, thank you for all your content!!!!

When I load up Maximus on the default preset with all the controls off, its boosting the output by 1 or 2db for some reason. Iv checked it with Fruity db meter and can even see the waveform get bigger if I check it in Fruity Limiter with all the limiter controls turned off. Any idea why its boosting the output like that? Cheers

Thanks for the videos B. Find it hard to reach a higher level though.. stuck at beginner. Cant find information easy and its holding me back. I watch your videos though. Ive found barrriers which keep me from making my first sound.

Around the 3 minute mark, you were describing the colors of the bands. I noticed you also gave the colors that the color blind might see. I am not color blind, but respect for looking out for everyone 👍
Subtleties like that tell me you're a good person. Cheers!
