  • In this video I have compiled some of scenes that Truley shows the horrors of war, the Pacific theatre of Call of Duty World at War is good in its own way but the Eastern Front is something that can give you goosebumps. I have compiled most of scenes from WaW that has something that covers the scary side of war that very less game had shown.
I found it very meaningful that in first campaign you fight as Red Army soldiers who is on constant run from the ruthless German war machine but then it advances to the times when things are totally different, that shows how unpredictable the wars could be.
Please make sure to watch the full video as I have added a lot of facts, scenes etc, that really shows how great this game was.
Please make sure to subscribe if you liked this video and as this helps me a lot in running this small channel.
I hope you have an amazing day today.

The war crimes that were just norm on Eastern Front that game showed that side as well.

7:22 For anybody wondering, the speaker in the background is playing Dies iræ from Mozart’s Requiem. You can hear part of the poem, “Dies iræ,dies illa, solvet sæclum in favilla teste David cum sibylla.” Which translates to, “O day of wrath, that day
when the earth will be reduced to ashes,
as David and the Sibyl both testify!” It’s one of my personal favorites from Mozart. Very fitting.

Something we have to keep in mind, most WW2 games show the relatively gentlemanly war on the Western Front. Not the wars of annihilation that were the Eastern Front and the Pacific Front.

The only thing i have to say is that hitler wasnt fascist, the only country that was a fascist dictatorship was itlay, hitler was a national socialist, and believed in socialism and yes the only thing that draws national socialism to fascism is that national socialism believes in one race, not a hate comment just a some history not alot of people know about but awesome video, i love waw aswell its just how the game was made, tells such a good tale from the dark days of ww2 in both theaters

With certain sources (Anthony Beevor's Berlin book, Operation Room video, etc.), there should be additional units apart from SS in the Reichstag sector as well. Such as a mix of Naval Infantry, Hitler Youth, Volkssturm, etc. While SS-related units; Allgemeine SS along with both German and Foreign volunteer Waffen SS, can be assumed to be the majority of defenders (excluding French SS, what was left of them should defend Reich Chancellery areas at the end of April 1945).
Plus, according to historical photographs and architectural plans of the building before and during/after the war, most of Reichstag's surroundings and interiors portrayed in this game are fictional.

    • @willysillyplays
      @willysillyplays  7 місяців тому +1

hey buddy, yes totally agreed there were more troops than just SS, I heard this in one of Mark Felton video Assault on Reichstag, but there were so many different units that I decided to make it simplified as this will create a whole lot of more text so I kept it to just SS, but thank you for pointing it will surely help some of buds who notice my mistake.

It’s sad to think the reason the Americans used nukes on Japan proper was the battle of Iwo Jima. Before the battle of Iwo Jima the US intelligence estimated casualties for a invasion of mainland Japan to be in the low 100k range but after Iwo Jima the US intelligence estimated the casualties to be in the high millions.

Japan was willing to fight to the very end, and Japan was also on the brink of surrender due to the Soviets, they feared the Soviets more than the Americans, and Japan gave a conditional surrender, August 10, 1945, Japan offered to surrender to the Allies, the only condition being that the emperor be allowed to remain the nominal head of state.

I played the game the very first day it released....and none of this effected me. It's just a game made up of polygons. When you shoot them, burn them, knife them, ect...they don't feel anything. Further, Call of Duty, every Call of Duty is so filled with inaccuracies It's often hard to take it beyond face value. Sure, the games are fun and immersive but that is the reason they exist. Enjoy them for what they are "entertainment" and try not to take it too seriously.
Addendum- These games no matter how "realistic" they are have nothing on reality. I have seen real human depravity before and COD: WAW isn't even in the same ballpark.

    • @willysillyplays

they may be polygons, but the thing is they put you in the shoes of a soldier who experienced this war, read a book or a movie but you are looking at the war from 3rd person perspective despite these games are not 100% accurate they let you experience the war from 1st person perspective I think that makes a huge difference.

      @@willysillyplays
Sorry this is so long but it is a response to both posts. Here goes...
I don't. I have never cried over any piece of entertainment in my life. Just as I have never really felt fear from them either. That doesn't mean I don't love the experience or am not immersed by them. I know in the back of my head that it isn't real. Alright I will let you know why games and films don't bother me...
When I was born I was diagnosed with a severe medical disability. I have had eight neurological procedures (brain surgeries) so far in my life with more to come before it is over. I spent the first five years of my life in a hospital mostly strapped to a bed. Thankfully, you wouldn't know it if you looked at me today (thank God) because I do pull off "normal" like everyone else. My hardships didn't stop after my disability became manageable as my stepfather was abusive (physically). I didn't break free from that until I was 16. I lived a hard life but was able to pull myself out of the mire through hard work. My work in criminal psychology has shown me the depths of real human depravity that thankfully, no game will ever come close.
When you are forced to face your own mortality as a child you become hardened by it. I'm just grateful that I grew up having empathy and a sense of wonder in the world. There are many like me that have never found their way out and are lost. I know because I have spent years studying them. I am no longer attached to that profession because it started to change me and I didn't like it. I work with disabled children now and it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. My students are absolutely incredible. Now you understand why I try to only see the games under the scope of pure entertainment and want others to simply enjoy life. You have a great weekend.
