  • www.amplifiednation.com The Steel String Sultan is the 100w 6L6 version of our Steel String Signer. The preamps are exactly the same, but we have omitted a few features to pack this powerhouse into a 19″ chassis! This is a very powerful, punchy amp, that is crisp and clean all the way up the dial, just like it’s bigger 150w version. The 6L6 power section gives a bit of a more ‘guitar amp’ feel, while still capturing some of the hi-fi qualities of the big SSS.
We took out the preamp boost, and also the FET, but can add them back in without issue. The best part about the Steel String Sultan is it’s smaller footprint, allowing you to play on top of a normal 1×12 cab, but still providing that roaring ‘clean lead’ SSS sound. The power section has the cathode follower that really kicks your clean tones up a notch! We can also do this in 50w or 100 with half power.

Hey Mike, this or the Wonderland as a pedal platform? They seem similar... I haven't played either of them... Intrigued though.

The Wonderlove is one of my favorite amps. This one is a little more hifi sounding. Very clear and stays clean all the way up. Really amazing amp. Can't go wrong with either

That new Heritage you have is Stunning!!! How are you getting along with it? How do you think it compares to the brand that used to be made there, that's what I really want to know before buying. I have a very long drive to be able to try one out, and value your opinion very much Mike.

I love Heritage guitars! The build quality is amazing and consistency is on point. I've played Gibsons that are just as good or better and some that suck... If you can try one I would. I bought this one on line and was very happy with it!

+Mike Hermans thank you for the answer, and for putting so much effort into your videos. I honestly don't know how you put out the quantity of videos you do, at the level of quality they are.

Sounds good - like any $2500/$2750 amp should! ;-)
    Very nice sound.

What guitar is being used for the second half of video, where you are twiddling with the knobs?

This or a classic reverb 100?? Someone point me in the right direction??

Tough choice I would say. Both amps are different from each other and they are both excellent at what they do.
The Two Rock Classic Reverb has the Dumble stye FET boost and supports a footswitch, but it's way more pricier than this amp and its tone is like a cross between vintage Blackface Fender amps and Steel String Singer. It lacks the filter circuit found on Steel String Singer amps but you can achieve it by using a parametric EQ pedal with it.
This amp costs lower has the filter circuit like the original Steel String Singer. It's made to sound like a the old 6L6 equipped Steel String Singer amps. But it lacks the FET boost circuit, but you can fix it up to some extent by using a FET based clean boost pedal like the Fulltone Fat Boost so it ain't a big issue, the bigger issue with this amp is the lack of footswitch support, due to this reason it's not flexible enough for live usage.
Well, since you're ready to pay $4400 for the Two-Rock Classic Reverb, I would suggest you to spend $350 extra and buy the 150 watt Steel String Singer by Amplified Nation, you won't get a better Steel String Singer clone than it at $4750. It uses KT88 tubes so you'll get more clean headroom than the Classic Reverb. Not only It has all the goodies that a Steel String Singer is supposed to have including the FET boost and the filter circuit but also has additional advantage, i.e., it combines the normal and FET boost in one input. Unlike the original Steel String Singer where you need to plug out and plug in your guitar into the FET input to use the FET boost this amp has a switchable FET boost which can be easily switched on or off even from the footswitch. So it has the qualities of a Steel String Singer combined with the convenience of a modern amp.
Of course none of those amps have buffered FX loops but you can contact Taylor from Amplified Nation and ask him if he can put a buffered FX loop in the amp.
