- Hi loves! Today we're FINALLY going to be transforming my rental kitchen to achieve my glamorous upscale kitchen vibes! I'm going to be upgrading my countertops using marble contact paper, doing diy backsplash, diy rental friendly marble tiles, and MUCH MORE! My room makeovers take me ages to complete and this video just reminded me why. Probably because I try to do 100 DIY’s at once, I try to complete my entire apartment in under three weeks. I love how my DIY kitchen makeover turned out and I can't believe I achieved my dream aesthetic in a rental. Hope you like this video and feel a bit inspired!!

It’s crazy that when you were stripping the paint off the cabinets, the brown wood actually had so much potential. I wouldn’t do brown cabinets but the brown was waaaaaay better than the cream paint

I thought she was trying to hide her hair - I mean we all know everyone wears wigs! I think you are beautiful I’m happy to see you au natural but just for your info that last layer that you said peeled off so easily was actually a contact vinyl that’s why it came off like that!! Finished result was awesome
For the cabinet door adjust the hinges with screw driver it will help it close or put magnets on the frame and inside the door.
About the magnets. I thought about those as well. Solution right there.
Easiest and cheapest fix is a $2 pack of hinges and replace the hinges altogether that way you fix the issue and get rid of the paint crusted hinges all in one shot

I def like the two tone cabinets. All white kind of gave hospital vibes but the dark contrast really elevated the space. Great video and great makeover! Love it!

Hey quick tip! I'm a DIY-er also, and I had a cabinet in my bathroom that wouldn't close no matter what I did like yours. Here's the fool proof fix: pick up a $2 pack of hinges from Walmart and change the hinge. The hinge is the problem. It's super cheap and takes about 10 minutes (if that) to install!
Also- I'm a Virgo too and I feel your pain! I'm an all or nothing person also lol! Its a blessing and a curse!
I was distracted by your beautiful hair! The dramatic body and curls for you! Now, That diy was amazing and the hard work and anxiety paid off very very well. Ima “I can do this all at once and I don’t want to wait and break” type a person too and regret it quickly every time😅😂but I keep on oftentimes not by choice because I always do just enough for it to look crazy if I leave it alone😂You did an incredible job! 22:26...You want to cabinet door to close all you have take the hinges off clean them reset them &/Or get magnetic strips in the corresponding cabinet color for the other side of the cabinet.

It’s beautiful. Don’t know if someone suggested already but you can get some command strips and put some light magnets on the cabinet and the door so it’ll close but not be to hard to open.

Hi, the two tone is actually not a bad thing. I would however have used gold fixtures for the handles. Gold would go well with both black and white.

I'm a Virgo to girl I feel your pain. I am a perfectionist and want everything done in one day. I'm renting a house from a relative and I have to go in painting, etc. I'm over it already just thinking about it. There is literally so much work that needs to be done.

About that one cupboard door that won't close. I reccomend installing those magnet closers seen on most older cupboards. The magnet will hold it closed.

Sanding those cabinets even with the paint on it would probably been ten times easier. It turned out amazing regardless though!
I actually tried but because of how much paint was on it, when I would sand it that would cause the paint to kind of melt and peel off (not exactly melt but I don’t know how to describe it, it’s just the type of paint they use kind of peeled and was plasticky) so it actually just looked worse. that’s why I try to strip it. I even tried using my sander but because my place doesn’t have the best ventilation it just didn’t work out.
You can also use both the chemical and the sander. In this case, I feel the chemicals are fine as long as the area is well ventilated. But I would have sanded after for sure.

Congrats on your successes. It’s lovely. With much respect, for the warmth you wanted, I would have gone with a softer shade of white. The black is nice too though. JMHO. …The cutlery outside a drawer? They will collect dust. Have a great day.
For future....Citrus Strip is excellent for stripping paint. You could also use a heat gun. They might rent them at Home Depot or Lowes.
Home Depot should most likely have some to rent, but unfortunately Lowes doesn’t do tool rentals (they do have carpet cleaner rentals though lol). Citrustrip is great also makes it much easier
