She spent 5 days of the whole year crocheting. That honestly says something about hobbies like this. 5 days doesn’t feel like a lot, and it got her something she can be proud of. I think it’s essential to have one of these skills. So anyways, this is your sign to make something every once in a while.
You're right! At first I was thinking of 5 days' time, back to back, and it sounded stressful. But when you think 5 days out of 365 days... Really our hobbies deserve to take our time 🤍
Yes. Another blanket for 2024. I prefer it as it is without a border. Thank you for your work and displaying it. Super job. Never seen a blanket like that before.😊
Because of this video, I decided I wanted to learn how to crochet, to make my own temp blanket. I have found so much joy in crocheting now and love the way my blanket is turning out. Thank you for sharing this.
i really admire the determination people put in making these. I would simply screw it up by forgetting checking on the temp and sitting down every single day to crochet.
Heck, yeah, make one every year. this is a fabulous idea. I'm sure back in the day when this was used. It really helped keep tabs on what the heck they needed to know for farming
This is an absolutely fantastic way to combine art and history. I think you should do one for every year! Could you imagine what it would be like for possibly your future family members to look back and compare years by their blankets temperature? Looking at things like that evokes memories almost immediately, you’re able to connect back to what you were doing at that time. This is an absolutely phenomenal idea, I wish I had better words to describe how amazing I think it is
I for one would be absolutely delighted to see a blanket for 2024 and am actually thinking of doing one this year. Edit: I did start one and have been able to keep up to the current day.
Long time crochet and I believe you’ll see more of a difference in five years than in one year, but feel free to expand your crochet horizon. There are so many wonderful things to crochet.
I think she had the idea perfect with a spreadsheet of the Temps for thr year. That way if she missed some time she still had all the info there! May help you!
@@KatarinaS.I think if you did both high and low temps in the same blanket it’d end up nearly 14 feet long.😬😅 Unless you did one blanket for January-June and a second one for July-December.
@@SylvainJoseGautier- Oh, definitely you could switch colors mid-row so you keep the 1 row @ day format but then the blanket is low-temp on one half & high-temp on the other. It’s a bit more work/complexity, but I bet it’d look cool.
This has got to be one of the best things I've ever seen. 🧡❤🤎💛 Not only is it gorgeous but it actually means so much more than just being a handmade blanket. It would be really interesting to see how different the weather pattern(s) is every few years or if there's a noticeable difference in just one year. Maybe even the weather a decade ago? Whatever you do I'm sure it will be awesome. Also... doesn't need a border. Beautiful as it is. 🌻
It was so cool watching you complete this project! I'd love another one for 2024. Maybe you could do lowest temperature this time instead? Edit: OR another one for highest temperature but with a slightly different color scheme this time?
Maybe you could do like a moodblancket. That means you choose a colour for, idk happiness and if younare happy at that day, you are doing the colour for happiness. Btw love your videos❤❤
Such a nat idea! I personally love it without a border. Anddd for next year you should use a different color scheme or different pattern somehow to make them coordinate but each be unique!
I'd love to see you make one every year. If you are concerned about where to store them all you could consider donating them to shelters, foster cares, hospice centers, and other such charities :) just be sure to take good clear pictures to hold onto
Thanks for this video! I've been debating on crocheting my first blanket and the single stitch is really pretty. Nice and simple. I'm a total noob! Haha!
No border. The simplicity is beautiful.
Yes, do one for this year.
You are creating heirlooms. Be sure to document it in writing, not just video.
I agree no boarder looks great as it is
You did some beautiful work❤🎉
Agreed

It is finished! It does not need a border. Gorgeousness!

impractical though

Beautiful ! Clever idea
Your memory in blanket
I think crochet temperature blankets are a delightful representation of the statistics for your area
Honestly need more colors for a beautiful ombre effect
I'd add some embroidery (or crochet lettering) to lable the blanket with year, location and purpose on a border.
That's a great idea!
Make another one plzzzz
I should do that on mine, good idea!

Use the unused color yarn for the border, it’ll help out with the edges and makes the other colors pop
Great idea!
Or the same ivory color used for the month dividers.
So so wonderful. Such a multi faceted way of recording this history. So beautiful.
Wow. How interesting!! I am always amazed at how creative some people are!!! Do another for next year!!!
It would be cool to make two separate blankets this year! One with the high temperature and one with the low temperature!!
maybe one blanket in half and half colors, two blankets is a lot 😅
If she made each blanket much slimmer, she could join them later into one full blanket

What a great idea. The afghan looks great. I may try this idea myself. First off, I need to get all the yarn. Thanks for the idea.
