  • Enable blind people to see again is the aim of Eberhart Zrenner’s research.
His approach is to replace destroyed photoreceptors by highly efficient electrodes in retinal implants. Highly sensitive microelectronics are necessary to be able to transfer the multitude of different light stimuli into electrical impulses and to increase spatial resolution.
Zrenner is a globally renowned expert in the field of degenerative retinal diseases.
Eberhart Zrenner is senior professor of ophthalmology at the Werner Reichardt Centre for Integrative Neurosciences and founding director of the Research Institute of Ophthalmology at the Eberhart Karls University of Tübingen. He received numerous awards for his achievements in cause research and therapy concepts, in particular in the development of electronic subretinal retinal implants for the reconstruction of visual performance.
As a member of the Hector Fellow Academy, an academy focusing on STEM-research, Eberhard Zrenner conducts interdisciplinary research on the CarboChip together with three other Hector Fellows, Manfred Kappes, Karl Leo and Martin Wegener and their postdoctoral fellows.

My name is Grant, from Cape Town South Africa.
I would just like to thank and salute all the doctors and partners, at the Victor Fellow Academy.
Thank you for all your time and research into helping people who are blind.
You give us hope to keep looking.

I wpuld like to inform that retina has few flat wire like electrical or electronic pieces at least 5 in nimber and are joined together by another wire encircling all five 4 mm long horizontally placed on above another. Such pieces receive signals from cornia's pupil. This i have seen in my seen myself while it was damaging due to conjuctivitis i have 9/9 vision after cataract operation .i wish if i could draw here. Also blue prominent color was seen and such elevtrode/chipd were floating in discharge in the eye ball .for doctors

This NEWS is not covered by any News Agency in USA-
    Please let me introduce myself.
My name is Ratendra Singh Jayara and I am from India. I am a pioneer behind the concept - ' Development of Artificial Retinas for Space exploration and eliminating blindness on Earth '. This is my concept which I submitted to NASA in March 2017 for which I received appreciation from NASA in April 2017. NASA encouraged me to do more research on my concept. But there is a company named Lambdavision which is based in USA, which I don't know from where and how picked my submitted concept to NASA and claimed that The Development of Artificial Retinas is their concept and Lambdavision received a grant of $5Million from NASA to develop Artificial Retinas . This is cheating and breach of trust by Lambdavision as this concept is mine. I condemned this act by Lambdavision, as this is my concept and without my consent Lambdavision should not have claimed it to be their concept.
If Lambdavision had already developed this concept before me then why NASA appreciated my submitted concept and encouraged me to do more research on my concept?
I submitted the same concept to Europen Space Agency in 2020 through Open Space Innovation platform and I was told by ESA that this concept is already under research and development phase and as a result my concept was archived by ESA.
I have requested NASA to give me recognition for my submitted concept which is now being used by Lambdavision. I believe that NASA will do Justice with me.
