Take a shot for every time you hear him say the word "pulley"Also, Corey Taylor in the background at the end of the video 🤘👍Great video. I was honestly scared to look up how to remove my pump but this video makes me more comfortable. Thank you sir
Thank you phordguy! I'm not sure if they offer a larger sized pulley, but you can check Turn One's website (link is in the description) to see what else they have. I believe that in a way these pumps do what you're describing. They lower the pressure so that its not making excess pressure in return saving HP.
Great Video! Good to see this removal process in work. Great job to turn one for a superior replacement pulley for the cheap plastic one. Making the LS better is always a good thing. My LS could use something this nice!
That was an excellent video!! The job seems much easier watching this! Not to mention, that turn one pulley is awesome! Looks great and is extremely functional too! Awesome video!
I used a factory GM steel pulley that was not solid like the plastic pulley that came on the car. It has webs like the turn one, but only cost a third of the price. It makes removal of the power steering easy because you have access to the bolts to the pump. The corvette is a lot harder to remove the pulley, than a camaro.
RedDevil ent. Yep! I usually use this one now, from a newer truck. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GUGA1OI/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=age0a0-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B00GUGA1OI&linkId=876aaf6ce950410b8d0bd5a519d7f902
I have not seen them yet, but it is possible. They cover a few different areas of steering. Check them out by clicking the link in the video description.
+Jamie Wahl Yes, two different tools. Actually, the tool to press it on is just a bolt that will thread into the PS pump shaft and then washers under the head of it.
awesome video man exactly what I was looking for just to bad I was three years late trying to win that pulley hahaha I subscribed also good to see informative videos so I can work on my car myself and save some cash... thanks man
Thanks for your videos; I have used a Corvette pulley before because the "windows" in them let you get to the PS pump bolts, but the Turn One looks a lot better. This would be a nice upgrade for my '56 Chevy 4 door Townsman wagon running a 2000 Z28 LS-1/4l60e.
I went to this "turn one" pump back in 2012. I kept my stock pulley tho. I just decided to go to a good power steering pump for my 3rd one on my camaro lq9 since the first 2 leaked around the pulley bearings so bad. & btw, if it leaks, expect the alternator below it to go soon too! So the 3rd time and hopefully last time, I heard "turn one" was top of the line so thats what I went with to save me and my alternator on possible leak damage issues!
I love would love to try the tun one pump and pulley I have a 2000 z28 5.7 ls1 and I’m trying to get her right. By the way I’m Winston for New Orleans F Boby Nation
THe one that is being given away is for a F-body, but you can check Turn One's website (link is in the description) to see if they have one that'll fit your application.
Thanks MightFAB! My brain has been working on how to capture harness work on video and be able to present it clear. So I plan to do it one day. All the harnesses are different to though. SO it'd probably cover the truck harness first.
Thanks bro... getting ready to do this same replacement on a 00 SS. Belt came loose and busted my reservoir. Appears the pulley crapped out causing the belt to come loose. I wish I had bought a different pulley. Was hoping to find a good step by step video
Thanks Kyle! Sure! I can try. At first I just bent it straight (except for the end with the fitting) just to get it to fit onto the pump as you see in the beginning of the video. Just real rough and sloppy. Then I just straigtened it out a lil more and opened up the 180 curved end just a lil to get it to fit while running it under the pump. I know thats not very clear, but thats all I can think to say without doing it agianand shooting another video. lol
I love your channel. I would like to have one for my ls build. To start me off. I don't want to have the pressed plastic breaking and cracking on me at high rpms
Thanks Jeff! I'll be getting a new update video on it posted soon. It's now going turbo and about ready to drive agian. So it should be able to kill the tires now. lol
+AGearHead4Life Very nice! i currently have a 98 Z28 full SLP exhaust with exception of the flow master 80 series, loud as hell mild cam not sure what cam, i bought it that way, T56 which i will upgrade but i am also Turbocharging mine, 78mm turbo is what im thinking of going with. I'm aiming for 550 650hp nothing crazy, I'm aware its capable of more bug I'm good with that.
Yep, from what I've read, that stock bottom end is capable of 600whp dependably. Its the rods that are the weak spot. If you put gen 4 rods in it, it'll handle a few hundred more whp. But like you said, what you have will be plenty, for sure.
How much HP can turn 1 handle? And throw a 6.0 in that trail blazer, can u one day do a 95-96 caprice impala swap? Or a fwd ls swap, like the 07 ss Monte have fwd 5.3 put a 6.0 in a clean lumina or Cadillac
Nice! It would have been nice to have this video about a year ago! It took me like 5 hours to do replace mine with the stupid generic puller that never perfectly fit. I was too afraid of breaking something.
Every time I turn the wrench it loosens one end of the nut how did you manage to do it .? I watched the video any suggestions I keep looking at the hammer
If you’re talking about the pulley puller, you’ll have to get the tool in as deep as it’ll go and then hold it with a wrench while turning the nut with another wrench.
Will this pulley work on the factory PS pump? The factory pulley went bad in the center bolt, but the pump is still good. I assume it will work but just want to make sure before buying it
I am in the process of installing a 4.8L LS Motor from a 2003 Silverado into my 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The problem I am having is the Steering gearbox is hitting the power steering Reservoir and Pulley. Might you have any suggestions? My initial thought was to lift the motor higher on the motor mounts.
John Smith Only idea that I currently have is to hunt the junk yard for a smaller diameter pulley. I've heard of others doing that, but dont remember which pulley they ended with. It was probably a Ford pulley. Do a google search and you may find it. Just need to make sure theyre the same inner diameter for the shaft and the belt lines up.
At first I was thinking, what is this guy talking about? the Video is still the whole time with the camera stuck in the fender. Then, after watching it again, I figured out that you must have been referring to when the pulley exploded.... Maybe he was taking cover to not lose an eye? Or hadn't been trained to take the hit yet. He probably wasnt very experienced with the camera either. Sometimes I have to have peolpe standing around me record while I do something. You can tell a difference in the video outcome of people who have been around a camera more.
I use the "eBay" head studs. They run $67 shipped. Think they're made by Pro Comp or Alpine, not really sure who actually makes them because everybody sticks their own name on them. But they work great. Just don't torque them past 70ft lbs. Good luck on the pulley!
If I didnt have the pulley already wrapped, packed and tapped I would weigh them to compare the two. But I'm sure what ever the extra weight of the aluminum is worth it. Especially since most other LS PS pulleys are steel.
Sure! What I did was orderd a 5.3 truck intake from ebay. Then trimmed about 4" off of it to make it fit. I've got pictures of what I did on my Facebook blog page "AGearHead4Life".
Thats a good question. The weight may be posted on their website (www.turnone-steering.com) If it does though it'd be very slight. And that slight increase would be less then the weight of the steel one used on truck.
Too late to win but, good stuff. Can somebody tell me if the turn one p/s pumps come with any kind of pulley or is that +80.00 add on for the billet aluminium the only pulley? (Meaning, if I don't get the $80.00 add on I won't get any pulley)
I know it came with a reservoir, but not sure about the pulley. Call 989.759.4206 to get your answer. By looking at their site, it looks like you have the option of with or without that billet pulley only. www.turnone-steering.com/GM-F-Body-LS1-Pump_p_14.html
I could use that pulley lol. I'm addicted to your uploads and have learned quite a bit over the course of your uploads. Great videos all the time.
Doing a LS1 Swap in my 93 T/A right now, that pulley would look great on it lol.
Take a shot for every time you hear him say the word "pulley"Also, Corey Taylor in the background at the end of the video 🤘👍Great video. I was honestly scared to look up how to remove my pump but this video makes me more comfortable. Thank you sir
Yeah me too !!!! LOL

I believe that in a way these pumps do what you're describing. They lower the pressure so that its not making excess pressure in return saving HP.
I have been looking into upgrading my power steering system this winter. A free pulley would really help me out.
Thank you kostasdot1! I'm glad you're enjoying the show!
Yea it is! Sorry to hear about that pump issue. Good luck on the Pulley Nick!
Great Video! Good to see this removal process in work. Great job to turn one for a superior replacement pulley for the cheap plastic one. Making the LS better is always a good thing. My LS could use something this nice!

They have the whole listing with options on their website. The link to thier website is listed in the video description.
Thanks as always for the support Josh! Keep on Wrench'n!
Isnt there another factory pulley that you recommended on project vandall
RedDevil ent. Yep! I usually use this one now, from a newer truck. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GUGA1OI/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=age0a0-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B00GUGA1OI&linkId=876aaf6ce950410b8d0bd5a519d7f902
Just in time, putting the 5.3 in my fbody next month, I could use that! Cool pulley, learning new stuff on your page all the time!
Thank you Matt! I've been really enjoying it. I've been a third gen lover for 18 years now.
I have not seen them yet, but it is possible. They cover a few different areas of steering. Check them out by clicking the link in the video description.
by far the best video I found. thanks for the details I am sure I can do this myself now and save labor costs from a shop! thanks bunches
+Jamie Wahl Awesome Jamie! Glad that you found it helpful. Good luck!
+AGearhead4Life did you use just a wrench on the pulley tensioner?
+Jamie Wahl For the belt tensioner I used a 3/8 ratchet with a long handle for leverage.
+AGearhead4Life is the pulley puller bolt a wider thread then the pulley Presser bolt?
+Jamie Wahl Yes, two different tools. Actually, the tool to press it on is just a bolt that will thread into the PS pump shaft and then washers under the head of it.
awesome video man exactly what I was looking for just to bad I was three years late trying to win that pulley hahaha I subscribed also good to see informative videos so I can work on my car myself and save some cash... thanks man
Awesome! Glad that I could help! thanks for the sub!
Cesar, that is the LS1 F-body (2000 Camaro) front accessories that I'm running on the Squriter in this video. Nothing has been relocated.
Excellent video, another thing on my to do list eventually at some point. Something I would of not thought would be this easy, but it is!

So did the powersteering pump hold up after all these years?
Your videos are the best!!!!
Thank you brotha!
Awesome JJ! Feels good to hear my efforts are appreciated! Thank you! Good luck on the pulley!
Thank you Rob! Turn One has done a great job. Good luck on the pulley!
Thanks Fidel! Yes this is really a giveaway for one F-Body LS1 Turn One Power Steering Pulley. Good luck!
Honored that you're enjoying them.
THe one that is being given away is for a F-body, but you can check Turn One's website (link is in the description) to see if they have one that'll fit your application.
That's a great looking pulley, my pump knocks worse than a bad rod. Not to mention the chipped pulley. Looks like great products
Thank you! This would start you out in the right direction. GOod luck on the pulley Jordan!
Thank you JJ! Thats awesome man. I'm glad to hear you appreciate the videos man. Good luck on the pulley!

very nice video. glad people out there take the time to make videos like this to help others out.
Nice! I just watched that video of the Camaro on the dyno and was thinking that I should get a new pulley. Awesome video!
Thanks aikodude! This pulley is a good place to learn! Good luck on the pulley!
Thanks Kyle!

Man, just the video I was looking for...I have a '02 ws6 and gonna have to do this same project! Thanks for the info brah😉👍
Excellent! Glad you enjoyed it.
When doing a engine swap A 5.32 a 2003 Crown Vic Power steering rack Power steering rack What do you have to do To make it work
Just ordered the TurnOne pulley! Thanks for the recommendation!
Thanks Mark! Nice hot rod you have there! Yep, this pulley would look sweet on there. Good luck!
Really enjoyed the video had some good information camera work was good and video wasn't rushed thankyou.
Good luck on the pulley Joshua!
THanks Josh! Good luck on the pulley!
Thanks Joe! Good luck on the Pulley!
Wow! How come I'm barely just seeing this??!! Do you know if the stock belt fit right back on or did you have to get another one to fit it?
I love your channel. I would like to have one for my ls build. To start me off. I don't want to have the pressed plastic breaking and cracking on me at high rpms
I could sure use one on my tbss.. do they fit the truck style?
excellent video clear and concise. i love that 3rd Gen Camaro Z28. i had an 86 Iroc with 383 stroker wicked fast car, yours must fly with that LS1
Thanks Jeff! I'll be getting a new update video on it posted soon. It's now going turbo and about ready to drive agian. So it should be able to kill the tires now. lol

Is the power steering shaft moving with the pulley as you're pressing it on? I just can't seem to make any progress on installing mine.
THank you Stan! Good luck on the Pulley!
What accessory system are you using to relocate the alternator?
for my 04 gto, which kit would i go with?
Hey Mark, was wondering where to get this pulley and would this work on the truck power steering pump? Can you send me the link?
Whats the project gonna be?
Hello I want to try a turn one pulley on ‘02 Camaro
Great video, not too many people run through all the details. I would love the pulley too.
Hello Mark ,Great video keep up the good work ! Great video and great Wrenchin' !
Thank you Ray! I try to spread the knowledge! Keep on Wrench'n!
nice video! I've gotta replace a power steering pump soon, this would be a nice addition to that swap :D Gonna have to remember it!
Cool good how to sir. Away learning on this channel and your Facebook page. Keep on wrench'n!!
Thank you Larry! Good luck on the pulley!
Nice car I want to do this with my 87 can you explain more on what you did with your pressure line
Would you by chance know the bolt size and length of the bolts that go into the head?
For the LS1 accessories? I can tell you that the thread is 10x1.5, but I dont know the length.
will this bolt directly on and work out of the box or is there extra pieces (hose fittings, etc..) that need to be bought. Car is a 2001 z28
The Turn One pulley and/or pump is a direct replacement. Nothing needed to adapt it. It just bolts on like the factory pump.
Thank you Luis! Good luck on the pulley man.
Sweet! That sounds like fun! I'd like to see this. Good luck on the pulley!
How much HP can turn 1 handle? And throw a 6.0 in that trail blazer, can u one day do a 95-96 caprice impala swap? Or a fwd ls swap, like the 07 ss Monte have fwd 5.3 put a 6.0 in a clean lumina or Cadillac
Great video! Love the 3rd gen w/LS swap!
Looking at doing a power steering swap on the LS1 1960 Impala...this pulley would look good on it!!!
Nice! It would have been nice to have this video about a year ago! It took me like 5 hours to do replace mine with the stupid generic puller that never perfectly fit. I was too afraid of breaking something.
Every time I turn the wrench it loosens one end of the nut how did you manage to do it .? I watched the video any suggestions I keep looking at the hammer
haha I wish I could help, but can’t visualize what you’re trying to do.
If you’re talking about the pulley puller, you’ll have to get the tool in as deep as it’ll go and then hold it with a wrench while turning the nut with another wrench.
Sweet video man! That pump and pully are awesome!
Will this pulley work on the factory PS pump? The factory pulley went bad in the center bolt, but the pump is still good. I assume it will work but just want to make sure before buying it
It sure will. Check out their website.
All LS1 power steering pump same? For example can i used F body power steering pump on pontiac GTO?
Nah they’re not all the same, but I’m not sure if those two are.
Awesome! That's a nice project! Good luck on the pulley!
I am in the process of installing a 4.8L LS Motor from a 2003 Silverado into my 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass. OK will do. Thank you.
There needs to be a camera man revolution. When interesting things happen, DON'T PAN AWAY!
I could sure use any front end part I could get, currently swapping a 5.3 into my 73 Camaro on a college budget. Please enter me into the raffle.
I use the "eBay" head studs. They run $67 shipped. Think they're made by Pro Comp or Alpine, not really sure who actually makes them because everybody sticks their own name on them. But they work great. Just don't torque them past 70ft lbs.
Good luck on the pulley!
Cool! Yes it would! good luck Justin!
WHAT DOES THE WHOLE PUMP PULLY SET UP GO FOR? 98 LS1 FBODY
Whats the weight difference between the 2?
I'm currently doing a 5.3 swap into a '93 Roadmaster. That'd be about the same swap as the 95 Impala. guess I should make a video for you then...
If I didnt have the pulley already wrapped, packed and tapped I would weigh them to compare the two. But I'm sure what ever the extra weight of the aluminum is worth it. Especially since most other LS PS pulleys are steel.
Been looking for an intake just like that but can't seem to find one. Any suggestions where to look? Thanks.
Sure! What I did was orderd a 5.3 truck intake from ebay. Then trimmed about 4" off of it to make it fit. I've got pictures of what I did on my Facebook blog page "AGearHead4Life".
gotta have one of these for my dads 98 ls1! His is chipped to hell! and yours look much better than stock!
what type of fluid do you recommend for the ls1 powersteering that cause less whine
+Cristian Alonso You shouldn't have any whine. factory replacement fluid will be fine. You could have air in the system or a pump that is going bad.
Oh okay that make sense i have the oem pump on there i guess its time to switch to a turn on pump thank you !
hey bro where can I buy a pully for my steering pump for ls1
Does the turn 1 weigh more than the stocker? I had my ps pump leak on my alternator and it blew out.
Thats a good question. The weight may be posted on their website (www.turnone-steering.com) If it does though it'd be very slight. And that slight increase would be less then the weight of the steel one used on truck.
Good luck on the pulley leetotheman!
Great video!! Thanks for taking your time to post!
Thank you Kaotik Motorsports!
Why thank you! I bet that LT1 is fun in that truck though. I was swapping LT's before I went LS. lol
Great details, and editing, how to @ its finest
Great and highly informative video as per the norm.
Thank you Eric. They are sweet pulleys!
lol Good luck on the pulley Alex!
Love the vids always learn something new. keep up the good work
