Intake: amzn.to/4aPL9QC
MSD Box: amzn.to/44kBMGJ
Holley 750: amzn.to/3xEohFj
This is why I always say that putting back what came in the car is ALWAYS going to be cheaper AND easier. If your car came with a 305 small block Chevy, put a 383 or 400 small block back in. Or if it came with a Pontiac 400, build that and put it back in. If you're not a hardcore racer, an LS is a waste of time. If you want an LS for the fuel injection, there are plenty of EFI kits for small block Chevy's. You can build a stout gen1 small block and daily drive the hell out of it. If you ask me, people go LS because they are either lazy, or don't know how to tune a carburetor or set an ignition curve in a distributor. People who can tune carbs are a dying breed.
Hey man, great points! I had a good running 350 in it, a small cam with a mild build. It was in the car for probably 10 years. I could have easily freshened it up and put a turbo in. Now I went LS and still ended up with a Carb... but I learned a ton along the way! Just got to keep wrenching and learning.
Fyi…….im running a B.O.P. Th350 behind my 5.3 without an adapter plate….the two bolt near the dowels are the ones holding….the key is having both dowels…..ive been running it like that for over 5 years now and its supercharged!!!…….good video though , very useful info for the newbies
Man good to know!!! I should have tried that. I could have saved some cash. Thank you!
No $ for adapter, probably no crankshaft spacer also
@@pmotorsports8276 still need the spacer unless your using a long crank 6.0 from ‘99 and early 2000….and some 2500 vans that had the 4.8/4l80e combo…
@@pmotorsports8276 no $ for adapter???…..i have a bop adapter i just coose not to use it….the magic is in the dowel locators….and the other 2 bolts are plenty nuff to hold it….you ever try to pull a head with a bolt that was forgotten??? Not gonna happen!!!
@@trentdawg2832 you may have that adapter, but unless it's mak specific to LS engines. You need additional spacing. Even Chevy TH400's need a spacer to LS engines. Not here to argue
Thanks for the video, I'm moving from a gen1 to a ls blow through f1a94.
That's awesome!!!
The best thing you did was just put it together, most people never get to drive their projects.
That's a sad fact! I hate it when someone puts so much work into something and never gets to use it
Buying a donor truck is the key to a cheaper swap. And do tons of research. Also buy a 3800 stall converter.
Good point!!! I'm tight on space here but I wish I could of snagged a 4th gen with a T56!
Great point on the stall, I have a 3200 in it now.
Skip efi just use a blow thru atm carb.
If you tell them your build they send you a running out the box carb.
Very minimal tuning by checking plugs.
Sounds awesome!
Done a few. The most costly mistake of all is choosing an LS over a traditional 350
Idk about that. These 350s are getting expensive!!!
#E36 love what you're doing ❤Key advice with all builds don't cut corners without going shifting through them
Thanks for the comment it means a ton! Cut corners has cost me so much money it's not even funny!
I am doing an LS swap project. 6.0 into a 65 mustang. The mustang still has the straight 6. I am just getting all the parts slowly then going to take out the motor and cut the towers.
I am thinking I might get the 6cy running so that I can drive it while I am getting all the parts. It hasn’t run in 20 years, but I just got it in November. I poured gas down the intake with no carburetor and it ran for a few seconds. It’s just the extra effort of doing the fuel lines and getting a carburetor
Do you plan on EFI or using a carb on your LS? I would 100% get the straight 6 running! It's going to take a while to get everything for the swap. Also, brakes, suspension, and electrical all need to be tested/inspected. Might as well enjoy the ride now!
@@Bad_Larry_Motors I plan on EFI , as the dream is this would be my daily driver. The car actually came with everything to complete a 6 cylinder restoration, including willwood 4 lug disc brakes. All new fuel and brake lines, new carb, and fuel tank. I did get the 6 clyinder to turn over, without the carb, so I think it’s a runner.
You have a link for the blowthru carb you used?
I converted a standard Holley 750 that I got used. If you want to buy one ready to roll, hands down, CSU is the go-to! They take your specs, and you'll be on the road with very few adjustments.

Cool channel I like the title . My dads name was Larry
Thank you I appreciate it!
You should have put a Godzilla, Coyote, or a Hemi in it... that would be more interesting.
That would just be wrong and more $$$$!!! Lol
@@Bad_Larry_Motors, Turnabout is fair play... Lol!
Have a great evening!
Man I’m having a hard time listening to what you’re talking about while you’re showing that sweet interior
Thanks! Maybe I should just drive around and show that!
lol POs Camaro my boy got the bottom the barrel Camaro on top of that
Better then no camaro!!! Going a split bumper conversion now getting rid of the ugly taillights so atleast it will "look" like a 70-73
