Today I am going to show you how to use the underground plumbing in Cities: Skylines. I will show you every step you need to take in order to get the water treatment and fresh water pumps operational. While I'm doing this I will also show you how to use electricity. I'll be using wind turbines and pylons in order to get electricity to the city and to the pumps. This is the only water and electricity tutorial in Cities: Skylines that you will ever need. This tutorial will help you when facing issues like; sewage backing up, sewage being forced from showers, no fresh water supply in your town, people getting sick with quality of water, no water coverage in your town, electricity disconnected and many other related problems

I've watched probably a hundred tutorial videos since starting to get into this game a couple weeks ago (most really good) but for me, yours just set a new gold standard in super quick and basic yet taught me something new about canals and deep water placement that I haven't seen before. I look forward to checking out your other vids.

@@CKSAFC The power is anywhere inside the blue circle. Buildings create a blue circle if they are also in power. Hope that makes sense 🙂

I saw somewhere that you can get electricity to the houses from the street (sorry for bad english) so how can you do that is that a DLC?
This is only on PC and its a MOD that you download from Steam.

Like everyone else said, great tutorial, I kept trying to use power lines like water pipes and was mad that I couldn't run power lines along the roads without destroying buildings

Information put straight forward and easy to understand. I knew most from playing the game, but I'm always looking for videos to get more ideas, more useful info, no matter if it's for beginner or pro, one can never know what new things could learn. Your video did just that with your canal and deep water pumping. Even though I'm not yet sure if this reflect real life, it's a new starting point for study.

Yep. I screwed that up. I was running big pylons behind all the zones. I still have that Sim City 2000 on the SNES tutorial burned into my head, where you build a power plant and a road and then run the power lines straight down through the zoned areas and buildings will build with them there. I was wondering why those pylons were sticking out so badly like a sore thumb. Had way too many of them, probably cost me a fortune too. Whelp, time to make a new and improved "New Fartland"
thats one thing i love about this game, you keep making cities and they always get a little better each time... glad you sorted out your pylons, they're so ugly haha

I Don't know about you guys but it doesn't work for me I can't connect the electricity
So in my game in the beginning it was fine but now im at a point that in some parts of the city it says not enough electricity but there is electricity. Cause the cables are giving it electricity I even checked there is a blue line and the city is blue which means there is ectricirt the availability of electricity is green which means it has full availability. Now I even put the budget up to 150 percent for day and night but still no electricity. So I added another wind turbine to my coal plant and still no electricity what can I do there is nothing else???
wind turbines in big cities are useless. i would recommend adding a second coal plant and making sure ALL parts of your suburbs are connected together. If you're low on electricity, the parts of your city furthest from power will shut down first :-) hope this helps!

@@kaskovic1993 you have dark blue and light blue bubble depending which item you're looking at. Dark blue is your electricity bubble and light blue is the plumbing bubble. 2 very different things and both have to cover your city
AniCod how do we get fuel in coal plant? I cant so i spam mega wind turbines
@@animationcity8178 it automatically gets delivered on trucks via road transport. you need to make sure your coal plant is right next to a motorway network or it will run out!

This didn’t work I tried to power the pumps and sewage but it still didn’t work if respond to this comment and give me feed back that would be great thank you
water pump and sewage pump are both needed. Both in the water and both linked together. You then have to put power to them. Use turbines or powerplants then link them all up with a row of pylons

So I started playing this game yesterday. And I have probably watched around 10 different videos on how to pump water into a city (I didn’t really understand any of them). But when I watched this video I got a good understanding on how to do it. This video really helped me and I will recommend this video to any others who are starting out.

For some reason my water pumps and sewing keep turning on and off evn though they have 100kw only for those 5 things
Power lines can't be underground? The standing towers with the power line look not very cool. There is this blue zone around the houses to which electricity is supplied. As long as the houses are close to each other, it is enough to bring electricity to this zone and nowhere else, regardless of the size of the city?

This solved my issue... I didn't know you need BOTH kind of waters in one pipeline. I had fresh and dirty separated, but was wondering why the game doesn't allow linking of pipes together or over

The towers are connected and all to the water and electricity but it ends near the windmill (Power) and it doesn’t give out the water .. if that makes sense how do it give the water into the town?
do you have enough water towers for the size of you town? also make sure sewerage is connected on the same line as your water towers :-)

I put a electrical tower pylon thing in the water pump blue area and in the house blue area and connected water and it still isn’t working
you need to make sure the other end of the pylon is coming from a turbine or power plant for it to work
My roads doesnt turn dark blue when I place the electricity palens to the lightblur area around the city?
your roads wont, this is a seperate mod. you will need to power your buildings inside the bubbles

Everytime the electricity just goes out in my city i don't know why. Even tho i do what the tutorial says
you need more electricity. more is used at night. wind turbines provide electric when its windy.
How do you have money without people?
I was putting pilons all over thinking I need to cover the whole city with them for power.

zone a small amount of residential, commercial and then industrial.. then power it all up with water and electricity... you can build up slowly from there paying attention to the city needs as you go on..
