The best fertilizer is GRASS fertilizer. No need to go to the big box stores aside buying the big buckets WITH LIDS. Next-cut your lawn, and collect it in a lawn bag. If you have loose branches from trees, break them into smaller pieces and throw all of it in your buckets and use your water hose to fill almost to full. Stir it for at least once for about 2-4 mins for 3 days minimum. Its gonna get reeeeeally stinky as the days go on-the stronger the smell the better actually-that's Nitrogen. I had wild watermelons I planted late last year and it went half-way down the fenceline-insane! My Basil grew so tall the base stem looked like a baby tree branch. My cousin told me about how his grandfather used to do it on a farm and had insane harvests. All from lawn shavings and tree debris. I really have to stress how bad this smells (WEAR GLOVES PERIOD) but the yeilds???? Awesome.❤

Every spring I have to deal with many scorched out patches in the lawn from my dog‘s pee 😂. Usually I lift out the dead sod and mix in soil and seeds. This year I want to get into pre-emergent weed killer, but you mentioned you can’t use this at the same time as seeds. Any suggestions on how to manage this? Love the videos! Got me into lawn care. thx

Thanks for watching! Yeah typically the pre-emergent readily available in stores will not allow you to seed with them. There are some pre-emergents you can get that you can seed with though. The most common one that I have some experience with is called tenacity. If you search for it you can usually buy it online but for the most part in local hardware stores I haven't seen it.
