  • How to fish the Ned rig for UK Pike, Perch and Zander. A few sessions on the local canal just fishing the Ned Rig. Its a great lure to use in the Autumn that works well to catch Pike, Perch and Zander. I tend to use around a 3-5g jighead with the Z-Man TRD on the hook. The best retrieve for the Ned rig can vary loads with no wrong way to fish the lure, it can result in some great great UK Zander fishing. Try it!
    If you have any tips/favourite colours let me know in the comments. Tight lines

    Well an update on my fishing as you asked. Used 2 or 3 different Zman baits last weekend had a small pike on a tube but came off when bringing it to hand, so not sure it counts🤔 But prove they work. I will stick to it and keep trying🤞 will update you on my further catches🎣

      Well that’s a start. Like you said it proves they work. What colours are you using? Sometimes a switch in colour can make all the difference. Keep it up. 👍🎣💪

      Gavin yes it’s funny how you can be fishing with something bright with no bites then a quick change to a natural colour and it’s fish on! 🎣
      Keep mixing the colour and the retrieves. 👍

    What do you think of the whacky/neko rig ?

    Putting a hurt on the locals with the Ned...It's hard knot to wack that rig when it smacks the fish on the nose!!

      Yes it’s certainly doing the business at the minute. Let’s hope it continues to work as it starts to get colder. Cheers for watching and comment. 👍🎣

    Nice one, do you find the Zander hit on the pause more than whilst moving?

    • @LureoftheOutdoors
      @LureoftheOutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      Normally on the pause, just as the lure starts to drop back down. The bites are quite varied from solid taps to the feeling of the lure just getting heavier. Not the hardest of fighters but nice to target. Cheers. 🎣👍

    Can you fish the ned rig for zander în the night???

    Have you ever using wire traces to ned rigs? I'm wondering if I can use my normal 5k wire trace leaders. Fishing for big perch mainly but get lot of pike about. Iv caught perch on the fox replicants with wire leaders but unsure if the gonna be a problem with neds. Tried them for first time yesterday but didn't catch. I didnt catch on anything else tbf tho. Knowone else caught either... so unsure if it's my trace or just wasn't fishing well. (Canal)

      I tend to find with ned rigs the fish try to bite them in half rather than swallow them and I think every time the hooks been in the lip. If you're worried about a pike biting through the fluro crush the barbs and it'll be able to get the hook out.

    Hi mate, am thinking of trying the Ned rig for the first time as ( I tend to use shads predominantly)for Zander & Perch on my local stretch of Great Ouse. Whats size hook are you using for the 2.75 inch Finesse? Thanks....

    • @LureoftheOutdoors
      @LureoftheOutdoors  4 роки тому

      Gez I Think I was using a couple of different sizes. It’s normally a size 2 for the smaller predators or I up it to a more heavy duty 2/0 if I’m expecting more pike. I think the lure works better on lighter hooks and jigs.
      Good luck using them, I hope they work for you. Cheers for watching. Tight lines. 🎣👍

    Hiya mate great video, I've just bought some of these lures and they have got me thinking about what else might take them, have you had any none predator species on them say carp, tench etc.?

    • @LureoftheOutdoors
      @LureoftheOutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching. Not caught any other species yet but as you say I can see carp taking a liking to them. Don’t think they could resist the buoyancy nature of the lure. A bit zig rig like?
      Tight lines with the new lures. 👍🎣

    What breaking strain is the trace

    • @LureoftheOutdoors
      @LureoftheOutdoors  3 роки тому

      I use a mixture. Sometimes if if it’s an area with less pike I will fish fluorocarbon or braid straight through.
      If pike are an issue I use knot 2 kinky single strand wire around 20lb breaking strain. 👍
