This is my Post Build Review Tamiya 1/35 Panzer II C French Campaign, a nice kit straight from the box, I have chosen to add a metal barrel to this one.
Now that's my kind of kit! Lovely job too. I'm glad to hear there's more early panzers to come - who could get bored with panzer grey!? Cheers.
Good end result, the box I had for the Tamiya Panzer 2 that I made in the early 80s is still one one my decal collection boxes
Very nice build. I did the Polish Campaign one and had a horrible time with the perforated muffler guard. Even after annealing and rolling it I couldn't get it to fit and the tiny attachment points didn't provide enough gluing surface to stick, even using CA. Don't know why Tamiya insists on using that "silver" PE in their kits, instead of the more malleable brass type!
Hello mate ... well done ... metal barrels are allways worth it ... thanks for the new topic on your channel ;-) ... love your content !!! ... your channel is definitely one of the highlights in the scale modelling world on youtube ... Cheers Make *
Jason, please remember that the jack lift blocks were always painted in the same color as the tank. The paint protects the wood.
I know, it adds a bit more color and contrast, but a grey block would have been more historically correct.
Apart from that, it's an awesome model, for sure !
I just finished the one from 1971 it comes with the Dak figures but I did it in the german grey colours
Very cool champion. Just finished mine for a Dak build. This was a strange build though 🤔 it was like Tamiya was struggling to make it some of the parts were oddly difficult? Like the antenna wouldn't fit the hole in the superstructure? And HUGE Push pin endents under the fenders? Minor things but never seen or heard of this before. Anyway awesome build.👍👍
The two Tamiya kits basically represent the same versions of Panzer II, the A/B/C, just that after the Polish campaign they welded that square nose over the rounded transmission cover on every tank as add on armour, along with bolted on armour on the upper hull and turret.
Turned out nice!!
As you said the German grey can be a bit boring but same I like the shade & with some varying light & dark shades they look very good. Nice build & nice to see not to much weathering less is more. 😀👍🏼
RB models metal barrels are usually a good buy
Props on painting the wirecutters correctly. No one does.
Why are the idlers painted as solid steel wheels? They all had flat black tires around their circumferences.
I'm not criticizing but weren't the German tanks painted 2/3 panzer-grey and 1/3 dark brown ?
During the Polish campaign of 1939 and the Western campaign of May 1940 , I mean .
