As a scrambler 400x owner, that is far from the truth. Bear runs wild. It’s a such a lovely machine. The weight and seat ergonomics you need to get used to, but if you’re not really planning on taking it on rough terrain, and use it as a vehicle for pothole ridden Indian roads, definitely Bear is incredible
The closing comment about Indian manufacturer creating for international market and British Manufacturer creating for Indian market was awesomely apt...
@@TopGearMagIndia you should also mention that it can be tilted and adjusted, If you are comparing that is pretty basic thing that doesnt require any money or much effort
I own an 400x and I tell you it doesnt matter wether city, country Road or Higway the Triumph handles like an absolute Dream with its wider handlebars and only 179 Kilos.
Bear has super stiff rear suspension. It won't be fun over potholes as it will throw you off the seat. I went over an overpass and some concrete roads and it kept jiggling me up and down and I felt nauseous. Not a fun experience
@@DrumHood thanks bro. Even i am inclined towards scrambler 400x but how about the height.. how does it feel in bumper to bumper traffic sitting that tall.. i am 5.10 btw.
Triumph looks like a scrambler. Bear looks like an interceptor modified in a local garage. The front suspension is terrible, the design is messy. I would still prefer the interceptor over this one. Triumph's R&D did a better job at designing the motorcycle.
the scrambler and the interceptor were both designed in the UK ,the bear has been a lash up of RE parts , incidentally I have an interceptor and have a Triumph 400 on order ,not to replace for now
The triumph to me was not substantial and too skinny atleast for me, not to mention the number of problems I had with the bike. Going to purchase the bear in the future after sold the 400 yesterday
Triumph 400x more a practical scrambler, bear its more like scrambler styling But i prefer bear 650 over 400x coz of itz beautiful engine ,more character full riding ,more engaging, more stable high-speed touring Coz ma 80% of rides are long high ways Listening to itz beautiful symphony can ride all dy long
Scrambler rider comfort is great, pillion not so much unless you want to install a backrest. Bear rider seat is good, but riding posture will get tiring after 30mins , pillion is better than Triumph.
does anyone feel the scramblers suspension unsettling on concrete roads on low speeds or normally unsettling on low speeds ? i felt this and also the gearbox not allowing me to downshift the way i want and always making click sounds when i shift to 3rd gear. anyone facing these issues in scrambler?
Yes. Scrambler's front suspension is on the stiffer side which makes it uncomfortable on slow speeds on city roads. But that stiffness really helps on highways at higher speed. The front remains surprisingly stable on high speeds and eats the small bumps on the road like a cake. I didn't face any issue on downshift on my scrambler..it is buttery smooth.
Great video , lotsa info there, but comparing apples to oranges technically, u are comparing 650 cc parallel twin to a 400 CC single cylinder that too this is a BAJAJ Triump not the original Triumph bike! Yeah the only way one can compare is the price point
Is the bear even a scrambler ? That thing looks good. That’s about it. Everything else about that bike is junk. Build quality sucks, design is bulky, rear suspension setup is inadequate, gear shifting is clunky.
Clearly, a paid biased comparison leaning towards triumph (usual BBC at its work). Also, the presenter needs to really work on his motorcycling and presentation skills for these types of comparisons. Keep up this below average work.
Reckless mindset????? Is this where motorcycle journalism has come to? Repeated use of the word 'reckless'???? The one thing that we, as motorcyclists cannot be on the roads, is reckless. Hope the people watching this do not subscribe to this 'mindset'.
By being 'reckless' we aren't promoting riding irresponsibly like a maniac. By that phrase, we mean that if you're riding a Scrambler, you usually shouldn't care about the terrain or riding conditions. You can be reckless that way. Not by risking your life doing stupid stuff
@@TopGearMagIndia you don't have to explain your wordage to someone who clearly isn't much versed in the concerned language. I really liked your summation of what actually a scrambler means.
You didn't address the weak chassis that royal Enfield has. No mentioning of chassis quality design what is better suspension diameter, etc . Basically you are a noob in bikes@@TopGearMagIndia
@@TopGearMagIndia The video offers a decent comparison between the Triumph Scrambler 400x and Royal Enfield Bear 650 but falls short in a few areas. It lacks a structured side-by-side analysis, overemphasizes minor issues, and misses a detailed technical breakdown. The editing style and humor can be distracting, and reliability concerns with the Bear 650 are glossed over. Better visuals, deeper insights, and a more balanced tone would have improved the review.
The Indian Motorcycle Reviews are always absolute cinema! Love the Drama in the beginning 😂
The only time they aren't singing and dancing on film
Finally someone said it, English and American reviews have become boring these days😅.
Bear is unbearable, i would rather Triumph!

@PavanMS87 yeah, but why would you use a 650 for daily?? I mean, it's not even advertised as a daily bike .
Triumph 400x anyday
Scrambler owner, this is an intense review with top level of riding shots. Thanks for sharing.
Honestly a scrambler main selling point is the agility. The fat bear cannot make it into that category.
its agile for a scrambler😮
i will take scrambler 400x over bear650 for tubeless setup. i can't deal with having punctures
There will be a tubeless setup just like himalayan

Are they actually?, I mean I asked re gurugram 2 months ago they said it would never come with tubeless. @@sonaidey2752
Good ending and that’s the actual point. Scrambler 400x is made for india and bear 650 is made for overseas
Make more of such videos! ✊🏼Very informative and well put.

Great review...look forward to more from you guys
One "beep" missed though Comment if you can find it!
Hahaha!
They should make a variant of the 400x with 21 front wheel, more suspension travel, and a high exhaust, keeping the weight as low as possible.
Is the handle fixed in Bear, I mean you can get it adjusted, right??
You definitely can. We mentioned it because this is how the stock motorcycle comes straight from the factory
@@TopGearMagIndia you should also mention that it can be tilted and adjusted, If you are comparing that is pretty basic thing that doesnt require any money or much effort

Very good presentation Mr Ananth Pandey.
BSA nailed it with its 650 scrambler design exactly imo!!

If you want a big bike with long spect sheet and riding mostly on highways, bear makes sense. For rest everything else, Triumph trumphs over.

Indian bikes need to Master Riding Geometry and Weight which is a Trump card for Commuter bikes.
