When she had her office in 1501 Broadway, we had the suite next to hers. She refused to pay for a copier and one of the guys from her office would come over and sheepishly ask if he could use ours. We were more than happy to help because their door had the word "theatrical" or "theater" in it and we just assumed they were producing musicals like we were. That is, until one day, when we asked, and he was MORE than happy to tell us stories. From that point on, we'd give a "how things were going?" and there was ALWAYS a weary answer. My favorite was: "Exhausted! Took forever to clean last night 'cause some guy go stabbed" Us: "Oh no! What did the police say?" Him: "Police? No police! The guy was married! No way he wanted wifie to find out what KIND of place he got stabbed!"
