@coryvallad7578 I'm all for players having influence to a certain degree but this has got to stop the fact that u can get ur son hired just because ur lebron is too much imo
@MacDre-ez2oc yep. Because everyone knows all elite players come from pick 55. So many teams have no idea if they will ever even get use out of their 55th overall pick. Many players at that point are stashed away elsewhere and we almost never get to see them play. If he got picked first round, I get it. But, the pool of players that emerge from that portion of the draft as stars is not large. And if the team feels more comfortable with a player they know vs. one they don't, it is really not a big deal. I get that you are saying but this happens all the time and getting ruffled over someone risking the 6th to last pick on the son of the best player of all time, worth the risk.
@J2R6T the point I was making is the only reason he even got drafted at all is because of his daddy, which shows that he has way too much power

As a life long Laker fan since the 80’s, this is the most embarrassing moment in franchise history. A player and his BF now run the most famous franchise in NBA history. @@skyrider7527 Every draftee has to prove themselves….
People are aware the owner of the Lakers is the child of the previous owner right 😂. Nepotism is the Lakers so people need to stop crying
The thing about Thanasis is that he isn't on the team just because he's Giannis brother, he's on the team because he's a great leader for the team.
Most people didn’t know who went first overall but wanna be bitching bout bronny😭😭😭
I'd actually think Lebron would be disappointed his son didn't have the initiative to carve his own path.
Comments like this are so brain damaging to read. What do you mean by "didn't have the initiative to carve his own path"? Are you trying to say Bronny didn't work hard enough? Or that he doesn't care about basketball and is just getting strung along by his dad?
Why would you think that? Bron had no shame forming super teams to win
@@lwshamilton44 I mean that it would be more impressive if Bronny got drafted by a team based on his own merits, not his father's name
As he should, sports is about competition not this bs
Mike Piazza was drafted late as a favor to some rich old white dude. That turned out well.
There should be a 5 year ban from playing in the league if you tell certain teams “if you draft me I’ll go to another league” to force a certain team to only be able to draft you like this. Every team should have the same shot at every available player in a draft without intentional interference and threats.
Uhm wasn’t Jokic a 2nd rounder
Joker wasn’t 6’2 with limited upside. Kid was the 250th or so rated player on most draft boards. He couldnt crack a mid level college team 😂
@@chriscrowninshield4623 I was more saying joker was a second rounder to them slagging on guys who were drafted in that round… I think it was his heart issues that played more of a role in him not cracking a mid level college team … the pick was 100% nepotism but you don’t have to dog the young man…don’t hate the player , hate the game
@@issues3793the game isn't ruining basketball, franchises and holding the whole league hostage at times to get what it wants. That's been lebron for decades. And unfortunately the kid is going to get hit too because he doesn't deserve to be on an nba roster no matter how you look at it. He just stole an opportunity to someone else WAY more deserving of it
@@issues3793 Nah, he's always been seen as a semi pro player by scouts. The heart thing sucked, but he was never seen as a NBA prospect. His brother is actually considered a NBA prospect though
No one complained about nepotism when Kobe Bryant and Steph Curry were drafted 🙂
Because they were actually good.
Their dad's didn't get them in the league. They earned it
Pro sports… last meritocracy left in America, gone.
Everyone knows why it happened. But only a certain type of person gets upset about the 55th pick being Bronny James. Oh the injustice! How can this world recover from such corruption?
Good to see Pat fall in line with ESPN and not criticize the scholar Lebron James. 🙄
I mean I'm no fan or anything of Bronny James or LeBron James but why is Bronny getting eviscerated? Shouldn't LeBron James his father be getting eviscerated for this because EVERYBODY knows exactly why they drafted his son because LeBron told them too..
Lmao Pat full throating LeBum
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. It’s been that way my whole life.
The Celtics should have drafted him at 54 just to spite the Lakers, but then, the Celtics are happy for the LA to get ratings, and Boston to get rings. Best franchise vs. joke franchise.
I didn’t realize people still watched the NBA. Good for Bronny. No drama necessary. Doesn’t affect me at all.
It's cool, nepotism or not; thing is with "cool" it's often not the best option. It's often fleeting, temporary and unreliable.
