Awesome introduction. I just bought a used copy because I discovered it and it looked really cool. I was talking about it on a game chat and several people mentioned that it was 'broken'. I thought the same thing as Tom, I'm not smart enough to figure it out!
After viewing the third review of this game here i'm starting to want to play it a lot :) This theme is really interesting to me (and old movies about that time) and the fact that two sides are asymmetric is cool.
To Sam 10:09 : The rules for the French and English concerning settling are the same. For example, either player taking Canso has to settle it, and either player taking Fort Beauséjour does not have to settle it. If anything, it's much easier for the English to take locations, as the French have the devil's own time settling a spot.
i am enjoying this game alot btu i have only played 5 or 6 times, its a bit difficult to learn and the rulebook could be a bit better, that said i agree with everythingelse sam says

Does this include the Halifax Hammer Expansion?
Reminds me a lot of Empires of the Ancient World; really enjoy that one but house rules were required to balance it out.
I was following this one on Kickstarter and hoping it would be good.
Just wish I had someone to play it with...
Don't attack Halifax, Tom! What did we ever do to you?
;)
Why was Mage Knight on the table the whole time?
Rune Age already has the "Keep a card" mechanic. Which came first?
Good review on a good game.
elegant just the way they were back then
So what does it mean when they say it is a broken game?
Brisk!
