This one line from Claudia "I saw a world without you" that she says once, rushed, never to say it again is the series in a Nutshell. Blink and you'll miss... How many show trusts their audience's intelligence and perception like this? Gotta love it!
I wonder if the old Jonas is from yet another universe? Not from New Martha's universe, or Young Jonas universe, but from a totally different one? Maybe he built the dimension portal so he could escape the time loop by destroying his own dimension? My brain gets all tied up in knots if I think too much about it. 😖
@@hollyb7142 my brain also explode XD so many theories and the only people they know everything are the writers and the actors! unfair! i think season 3 wil be very very hard for us. I have the feeling that there will be no happy ending.
This is easily one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life. The complexity of the story telling alone is unmatched by any series out there. I am blown away. The ending to season 2 made me jump out my seat. I just cant believe this show gets better and better!!
@[Fersy] I think older Jonas, Magnus, Bartosz and Fransisca went back to 1888 where they grew old and form Sic mundus.......And Noah might be Bartosz son and the man who got killed by Young Noah might be Older Bartosz
they would never do this in star trek :P It's so sterile there, that even the notion of meeting yourself could cause a paradox. I think Dark takes this much further and just makes it additive instead of linear :)
I think, beside all those WTF moments, the most impressive thing of the show is how we have no real hero and no real villain. No one is like "I'm just hungy for power, money, revenge, .. or I'm just an evil person because I was bullied in school and now I want to destroy the world" and that's it. One can understand why the characters act the way they do. Or they make us want to understand it in case it's not clear yet. It's the experiences that they gather on their way (together with us) and - of course - the people they're connected to what drives them even though they (and we) never thought they would be able to act the way they do in the beginning of the show. Neither Claudia nor "Adam" or Noah are bad persons - all of them have reasons - and the loving friends and family members are no saints either on the other hand. Some of those we thought were villains even changed their position during the show - like Noah. Everyone acts due to a certain reason, a motivation - mostly love. So basically "Dark" is showing us that not only Hate but Love also can destroy the World in some way or the other 🤷♀️
Holy crap that 2052 where young Jonas got lunched to could definitely be another universe because older Elizabeth didn’t recognize young Jonas, so could that be the universe where he doesn’t exist ???? 🤔🤔🤔
Something just clicked in my head. It really makes no sense that Elisabeth doesn't recognize Jonas unless she's at/from a universe where he doesn't exits (i hope tons of things rushing through my mind that i can't really put down to worlds, but I'll say that all of them point to that future being on an alternate universe).
I don't think that's it's the universe where Jonas doesn't exist because otherwise there won't be the Xs on the calendar and a family picture with Jonas in it, in the house.
I think they gave us already little hints for other timelines/universe in S1. A obvious one almost noone talks about. In the bunker is a Tv where we see H.G Tannhaus has a science show and explaning wormholes / Black holes. Well that is not the "Watchmaker" Tannhaus timeline because he said he is just a little watchmaker that only sold 500 copys of his book. Noone whould give a nobody a "science" show on tv especially not in 1986. Makes me wonder if Tannhaus is a scientist in the other timeline. Maybe he triggert it all with an experiment. We have a few more odd time differences. When the body of mads fells out of the timehole in the bunker. His school ID shows that it has been issued after he disappeared in the normal timeline. Or there is this scene where 1986 Tiedemann asks Jonas on a "Sunday" why he is not in School. Pictures change. On one photo Michael Kahnwald smiles. But on another (which is the same Foto) he looks depressed and sad. Whats also super odd. Everyone in the show use contact lenses to match the older younger version. Exept Jonas!. Young Jonas has blue eyes. While Stranger and Adam have brown ones.
@@Ramboonmission First season 3 times. second once so far. ;-) and made a view still shots at scenes where they point the camera too an object or document. There is even more. and everytime they show it in closeup just like the calender. So that must mean something. E.G. know its Sunday because in that scene before tiedemann is at the plant and wants to interview Helge. Then they show his notebook in closeup and he sais.. Okay Tuesday day after tommow. That means its Sunday. They exactly want you "the viever" to know this. ;-)
I have a few thoughts about this. Firstly, this is Dark, not Game of Thrones, so it's way too clever for plotholes or accidents. I think there is a lot more happening than what is being said. Secrets and lies are an ongoing theme of the show, and I think the audience is being misled. For starters, the time travel Logic was stated in an interview to be one where there is no free will, i.e. you couldn't go back in time and kill your grandfather and thereby prevent your own existence and such paradoxes, because some external force would prevent you from doing so, so therefore free will doesn't exist. This is what Jonas/Adam seem to believe during the show, in his attempt to fix things he keeps making them happen instead and says "this is how it's supposed to happen." Yet, FREE WILL CLEARLY DOES EXIST!! Paradoxes do exist, because clearly people go back and forth in time, marry and fuck and have kids causing them to be their own grandmother etc. So therefore the No Free Will/Linear Model of Time Travel doesn't seem to apply here. So during this whole time, there has been a "war" going on, basically a conflict between those trying to control the events of the timeline. Mostly between Adam/Jonas and Claudia. Adam keeps saying that things have to happen a certain way, but is it really true? Because rather, the timeline seems to follow the same logic as that of Lost, i.e. every time somebody travels in time they actually open up a new timeline. Therefore if Jonas went back in time, he could prevent Mikkel from traveling to 1986, and that wouldn't make that Jonas disappear. It would prevent the FUTURE Jonas from being born. the one in the new timeline he opened. Therefore=> MULTIVERSE Model. This being said, I actually have doubts whether or not Adam really is Jonas. For several reasons: 1) his features made him totally unrecognizable in a show that deliberately casts actors that look so similar that this was clearly a choice meant to confuse the audience. 2) he is possibly Bartosz because Bartosz, Magnus and Franziska traveled in time seconds before the apocalypse with older Jonas, but while older Magnus and older Franziska are shown, where is older Bartosz? 3) Bartosz is confirmed to NOT be Noah, as some have speculated in Season 1. 4) Bartosz has always been a shifty, selfish type. In the last few episodes I was a little confused because the conversations about time travel didn't seem to match what I understood from the events happening, so I clearly think we were being misled, and I still firmyl held onto my multiverse theory. Then, in the VERY LAST MOMENT when another Martha appears who is clearly from another dimensions and I was like...damn that kinda proves my hypothesis! Anyway thank you for coming to my TED Talk
I'm pretty sure Bartosz is dead. I believe that was him who was killed by young Noah in the Season 2 opener. They look very similar and from what we've seen, they haven't brought outsiders into Sic Mundus so it must be a character we already know.
What if all people in Winden ara actually related. The investigator said that it's weird that nobody leaves Winden. Also, the show plays a lot with god :god particles ,sic mundus ,priest Noah. What if there is not only Adam ,but also an Eva? What if Marta is Eva? What if they somehow created Winden and everyone there is their offspring.
wow!! that kind make sense . but think about it , its too simple of a story to be true!! the writers of dark wont give it to us like that without twisting our brains first !! hahah
This man here explains things so good. Should have more recognition.

Nice theory! I thought is was gonna be an ending explained video, however I like this better! I'm with you on the calendar thing, don't think they would show it if didn't mean something. What I couldn't get from you theory is: if 2052 is another universe/timeline, then Jonas was transported there via portal (when he and child Helge touch hands), not via particle of god. Maybe the particle of God also takes you to different universes, but that would make the story a hell lot more complicated for them to explain on 3rd season, because Jonas used it twice, so does that mean he could have gone to differente universes twice? I don't think the director is going to give himself that big a trouble... they alreadey have a lot to show on 3rd season: who is Martha 2, how Sic Mundus started, the history of Elisabeth and Noah, what will come out of Egon and Hannah, Katterina searching for Mikkel, who's the girl that smashes Jonas' head in 2052, how Peter came to Winden, Bennie and Woller, Aleksander, how Adam built the particle of God...
I think Adam doesn't know about Martha 2.0 time machine otherwise he would have stayed there. The fact that Martha 2.0 brings Young jonas to another dimension is the loophole Jonas and Claudia wanted to create in order to stop Young Jonas becoming Adam.
That's what I thought but if Adam didn't know that Martha 2.0 would come to take Jonas into the other universe he would've known that young Jonas wouldve died in the apocalypse and thus would not become Adam. So I think he does know and have experienced everything that Young Jonas is going to experience
The big question is (and I feel like this will play a big role in the direction season 3 will take) Is Martha2’s appearance at the end part of the time loop? Or is that a new development that has only happened in this cycle? Because if it is part of the time loop (meaning both Adam and older Jonas have already met that Martha, gone to the other world, seen whatever she wants to show young Jonas, etc.) then nothing will have changed by her appearance, and by extension nothing is changed by the existence of the multiverse, because everything is simply leading Jonas further into becoming Adam in the time loop. Then there’s the fact that Martha2 says “I’m not who you think I am” - does this mean, she has not had the experiences with young Jonas that Martha1 had? Is there a Jonas in her world at all? Or is this the no-Jonas world old Claudia mentioned? But if so - why would she care about Jonas at all? Is Martha2 from a world without a loop, where everything from the past CAN be changed by traveling back in time and thus creating new alternate universes which branch out into different futures, every time a change is made in the past?
Martha2’s appearance has to be part of the time loop! Otherwise Jonas wouldn't be able to escape and survive the blast. We know he somehow escaped in the last loop...
Martha 2 is part of the loop since cycle 2 old Jonas looks at the odd spot on the floor frequently because he remembers Adam shot Martha 1, the new development that will break the cycle is the god portal in sic mundus lair that can teleport dimensions and time to exact moments, breaking the 33 year cycle
@@dopeitsjay58 definitely same. Older Jonas said to Martha 1.0 that she saved him and now he wants to save her and he put her in the bunker. He was talking about how Martha 2.0 saved him the day Martha 1.0 died. Older Jonas will come back after the apocalypse and see that saving Martha 1.0 didn't work he will become Adam and form Sic Mundus. Adams trigger wasn't for Younger Jonas it is for Older Jonas to finally realise he can't save Martha 1.0. However it was a semi trigger for Younger Jonas because it makes him want to save Martha when he is older thus making the trigger complete when he finds he can't save her. Martha 2.0 changes nothing. Hope that helped.
it has to be the same thing and thats why he wants to end the world now, remember how he said that? maybe cuz he knows there are other worlds and thats where he wants to be and whats what he knows but idk then why he's on winden now, I DONT KNOW ANTYHIGN BYE
I binge watched again the second season and something occured me: The Noah from season one felt like he is actually the Noah from season two after he finds the last pages from Claudia's diary. That's why he recruited Bartoz (and also to get to Cláudia) and that's why he was trying to make a Time machine himself at the bunker (by kidnapping kids) when everybody and their mothers (quite literally) had one version of the portable machine... Also would explain why that Noah antagonizes Jonas saying he shouldn't be trusted (and why Bartoz comes to the same realization just before they are saved from the apocalipse)...
That whole season was really fucked up. Some characters just can't get anything nice and are basically fucked for all their life, trapped in an endless cycle of pain. Ulrich is probably one of the most tragic characters I've seen a while.
He is the most tragic character in the show, I agree. All characters are tragic. I believe that they can't really fix the timeline, they just gotta learn to roll with it, that's how Jonas becomes Adam...
Definitely. Remember he always wanted to leave Winden but ends up literally and metaphorically trapped in the city... But i'd say he's neck to neck with Mikkel/Michael...
I have a feeling Mikkel might not actually be dead. He has been showing doing magic ‘tricks’ from the start, so maybe he outwitted time. I didn’t feel his motivation for killing himself was really enough.
His story is tragic but he definitely bares some responsibility. He cheated on his wife and he tried to kill that kid. Most of his tragedy can be traced back to those decisions that nobody forced him to make.
Love your videos about Dark 2! Hope you’ll make a theory video about Hannah. She is one scary woman and I’m really curious about where she’ll end up next
Hi. There is just one thing that I presume you misunderstood: Noah didnt know about Charlote beeing her own grandmother, until he read the last pages. So, he couldnt just travel to the future and bring charlote because the timemachine was not in his possession at that time. Adam kept a secret about whereabouts and the origin of Charlote from Noah, so he could manipulate him further. In the first season, when Noah gave the watch to Elizabeth with "Charlote" inscription, he Thouhgt he was giving an old watch to his future love and wife, and that the inscription was the name of Elizabeth's mother to who it belonged, and who she loved so dearly that she gave that same name to her firstborn daughter. He had no idea about this crazy bootstrap until he read the last thorn pages, and it was just late for him to timetravel.
The change in the calendar. Could it be that it's not because it's a different universe, but that it was an actual change in this loop. Namely that Hannah didn't kill herself, so the next day she crossed the calendar "for the first time". And what we saw in ep1 was from "the loop before"?
We were tripping when saw the calendar with the x! The multi-verse idea is really all over season 2 when you look back at it. The story got so much richer with season 2 and I can't wait for season 3 to see the real game that evil Jonas is playing. Great video.
The problem about the theory, that 2052 was a second universe is, that Martha was dead. Also somebody said in the theory, that Jonas doesn't exist there. But the silent killer knew Jonas. Also Winnenden looked totaly like the Apokalypse of Universe 1 happened. So i think they will travel in another world in season 3, a world we don't know yet.
The thing I never understood is why Adam says it's the last cycle...If same things have been happening all this time than how come this is last cycle....
@@Binge_Zone check episode 4 by the end of episode when noah is talking to his younger self.. he says.. "adam will send Jonas on his way so that last cycle can/may begin"
You guys remember that all three timelines are running simultaneously right? We aren't getting flashbacks, like one of the episode titles in season 1, "everything is now". Meaning that when we see Jonas for the first time this season it's on June 20th 2053, meaning June 21st 2019 hasn't happened yet, aka Hannah hasn't put that x there yet. I don't believe we see the calendar in 2053 for the rest of the season, but I'd wager that if we did, new X's would be marked off to correspond to what day it was in all the timelines.
I love how in one interview they describe why dark is so good compared to the bad German shows that are common. Basically they said „it’s like when someone tells you, here you have money and now get the stuff that got shelfed because everybody said it’s to complicated and no one ever will watch it. Oh... and ne free with it and Follower your Vision!“
It may not be a multiverse situation... although I may just be arguing semantics... But what if when you time travel... you do not truly change anything in your timeline... but instead create an alternate timeline in which things occur differently... In other words every time a person time travels they are not affecting the previous timeline they have left. For example, if you go back in time and kill Hitler as a child... there will still be the timeline where Hitler dies in 1945... and you are simply creating more and more timelines by traveling through time but never truly changing anything in the timeline you intended to affect. Also what always bugged me with the concept of ''fixing'' the future... or even the past in shows like this and ''Travelers'' is that by altering the future or past... You are essentially murdering every living thing in the universe and replacing it with a new version. Their lives are simply erased... And replaced with new ones. The same way amnesia is a kind of death... Because our memories what make us who we are.
Yes, different timelines mean (possibly) different outcomes. But if it's still the one timeline, you can't kill Hitler, you rather cause (unwillingly) his survival. You can't change your timeline. You may think you did, but you've just created another timeline (it's surely a parallel universe) or caused the thing you actually wanted to prevent (could be the same universe). Well, unless it's Fringe, lol.
I think most of these other multiverses or alternate timelines are also connected into one big loop because if Martha 2 didn't save Jonas than there would be no older Jonas or Adam. I also think that season 3 will introduce us to multiple timelines because the show says that every decision has an impact on a sequence of Events. theoretically, even if a sequence of events changed it would just branch out into another timeline or universe where things are different. For example, Claudia says that she saw a world without Jonas, therefore, proving that there is another timeline that has a different sequence of events. Maybe that universe that Claudia speaks of Is the one that Martha 2 takes him.
I feel that the aim of the show is jonas traying to never become Adam ! So I think that Adam dont know about Martha 2 , who will lead younger jonas to another ways Adam didn't experienced!
I've just rewatched Season 2 episode 1 after your reveal about the calendar and when Jonas goes downstairs in 2052 after dreaming about Martha the 21st has an X on the calendar. Have they altered the episode? His hand is in exactly the same position as the clip in this UA-cam video where you can clearly see that 21st does not have an X.
I like your theory. We tend to forget that the older Jonas (played by Andreas Pietschmann) was already taken and has already seen this other world...and there are many people shown in 2053 ,that have never been introduced to the viewer. And Winden is supposed to be a small town...I think the creators are brilliant! So excited to watch season 3!!
Loved your analysis of Season 2, especially the calendar analysis as proof of different universes. Did you notice that the calendar Adam puts his "O" on is NOT the same as the other two? Have a look at your own Twitter page (I uploaded an analysis there). Greetz, Fred from The Netherlands
I just found your channel and I love it dark is so complex and unique that u need an explanation and u explain everything so well keep up the great work I’ll definitely watch ur next video
I really appreciate your videos! I can see you have the same passion for the show as we all do and you also seem just as mind blown, confused and excited! I wonder where Jona's mom left, she said she was going to get a 'fresh start'. Jonas seemed genuinely surprised she took the time machine and had no idea where she left. I thought I would get a lot of questions answered this season and I kind of did but now I have so many more questions lol. I love this show.
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but the 'X' on the 21st of June is indeed marked when Jonas looks at the calendar in 2052. It is visible as Jonas approaches the calendar.. the angle of the shot when the camera zooms in may make it appear as though the 'X' is no longer there, but with a keen eye, one can see the bottom half of the 'X' All of this to say that the notion of a multiverse is indeed revealed only at the very end of Season 2.
@@Binge_Zone If that's the case.. the thing Noah and Helge were working on might not be a time machine at all. They could be trying to access other dimensions
Thank you. I think you helped plug the holes for me. I sill can't get the family storylines straight. I'm getting there. But yes, I agree they had been carefully constructing the multiverse. These writers are really quite intelligent. One thing that also strikes me is the importance of personal connections. For whatever reason these 4 families are drawn together and intersect. Hannah in her interview with Clausen says this. Clausen mocks her because of the betrayals he knows between Ulrich, Hanna and Katharina. Franziska complains about the lies they all tell each other. But yet Franziska and Magnus are at Adam's side throughout. The young lovers grow old together. Uncle and nephew are together. Even when multiverse Elizabeth fails to kill younger Jonas, she is moved by some nameless connection. She injures him, but she cannot bear to kill him. Why? Why don't we see mature Jonas in the 2053 post apocalytpic world? The dreams Jonas and Martha have of each other are revealing. Martha has a dream of young Jonas and mature Jonas even before she meets mature Jonas. Why exactly did Martha leave the bunker to go back to Hannah's house to reconnect with Young Jonas --the one who is her perfect match. Why does Martha 2 find Young Jonas and take him to the multiverse? I'm not sure the mature Jonas experienced this in his timeline. Adam says after shooting Martha that it would be a pain he would carry with him for the rest of his life. If Adam experienced the multiverse with Martha 2 would he still think this? Lastly, why did another time traveling Jonas purposefully lead Mikkel astray? I guess to make sure Jonas is always born? But why does mature Mikkel/Michael have to die? Does it have to do with Martha and Jonas's relationship? Can't wait for Season 3. Game of Thrones is a now a distant unpleasant memory and Stranger Things is cute.
I have also noticed signs about Martha, for example we see her reading “Ariadne” at the beach, the day before Michael commits suicide..also in one of the episodes, when the group (Bartosz, Franzceska, Magnus, Martha, Elisabeth) are in the cave and they need a phone to activate the time machine...they use Martha’s phone and on it, her wallpaper has “Ariadne” written on it. I wonder if these are there purposely and are a link to the mythology. And if so, is it a sign of her character’s destiny or her other self from the other world and the relationship with Jonas/Adam?
i am not sure of anyone answered this question. i just finished watching this couple a hours ago (6/26/2019 1:56 PM EST) and the thing that is racking my brain. i noticed that middle adam new that younger adam was coming back, but to me it seemed that middle adam is not aware of his version 2 of his girlfriend. because if he did. why try to save version 1 by forcing her into the bunker. that got me thinking, is middle adam not the 3rd adam, meaning his memories are not the same yet, so the 3rd adam, had to create an event that would make use young and middle adam, to create the 3rd adam. if thats also true, is the 3rd adam the end of the loop but to be a loop in the 1st place, 3rd adam has to use people and his 2 versions of him self to create to loop in the 1st place. (you guys get what i am saying) I Think this whole event, is about actually the 3rd adam and what he had to do to break the loop, by making changes withing the creating of the loop, and thats the story we are being told in Season 2. i came to this conclusion because of the 2 different calendars, middle adam did not know about girlfriend verison 2, the old (3rd) adam is the only one that knows it all. (i came to this conclusion after dreaming about this dam movie, by taking a nap 4 hr nap after watching this movie on Netflix)
What about bartosz? first episode of season 2 shows young Noah killing a man but I don't recall them ever mentioning who he is. But he does say something to the effect of figures it would be you. Before he is killed. Could that be adult bartosz. Maybe that's why we don't see him in the timeloop thus far because he has been in the past building the tunnels.
The only series that makes me want to watch it again just simply because it’s enjoyable, confusing, complex, intelligent, and just all encompassing. I mean wow what a tv show. Again, best underrated tv show on Netflix.
In the first episode of the season, young Jonas wakes up in his old house in 2052. In the last episode it looks like the house gets demolished in the blast right before the credits roll. Maybe this has to do with the 2 different worlds.
Was wondering if 1921 Magnus and Francizca were waiting for their Mother, Charlotte . Last time fingers touched we found Jonas in the future and Helge in the 80s . Charlotte touched Elisabeths finger . I love this show
Your explanation makes a lot more sense than what I had in mind.. Because they never explicitly mention the year of the post-apocalyptic world of future scared Elizabeth. I thought it was 2052, but now I believe it's an alternative future. But the big question is how did Jonas get there?. he didn't have the Orb that Martha 2 have.!!
Well the multiuniverse idea in hinted even form the very first minutes of the series. There we see two pictures of the Kahnwald family under the christmas tree, were everyone is wearing the same clothes but their faces all have a different expression. No one matches. At that point of course I couldn't get it but the multiuniverse idea explains it. The question here now is how many differences there are between the two different universes if we suppose there are only two of them!! Even with one universe Dark seems chaotic imagine if there are many that clearly intersect as we see in the last episode of season 2. After that I an not sure If we have seen what happens in only one universe and there is nothing mixed up. Damn I might have to watch it again! Nice will do it!! :D :D :D
Why then didn’t middle Jonas have any knowledge of Martha 2 then? Who I assume wrote the ‘Martha letter’. Also Adam gives the younger Jonas a choice “stay with her or try & stop me”. Did middle Jonas take the latter option? Whilst perhaps both younger Jonas and Adam chose the former? Had Martha 2 not appeared, Jonas would have died. Love this show, it’s such a head scratcher!
I think one of the give-a-ways is the yellow jacket. When Jonas is launched at the end of Season 1 he is in his yellow jacket, but wakes up in Season 2 with out it. But Adam gives him a new one... Mikkel/Michael drops a glass when Jonas picks his yellow jacket.. Season 1 Stranger even has a black hoodie (Magnus can't find in the verrrry beginning) while the other Season 2 Stranger has a plaid shirt and a tee. The most glaring to me is the ending of Season 1 was an explosion is during the night & only Peter & Charlotte are in the bunker, while the one in Season 2 is during the day. Season 2 makes you think that big black hole at the end of Season 1, what?, doesn't hit the ground and explode like Season 2? They have been showing different universes (or at least 2) and people from them already, I think anyway.
Just subbed up. I have a thought though. Wasn’t Older Claudia murdered by older Noah? In 1953 she’s dead and but somehow pops back up to tell Jonas that saving his sadness won’t fix things. And she says she’s seen a world without Jonas.... so is that older Claudia from the other universe Martha 2 came from? Cause there’s no way she can be alive and dead in two different time areas. That wouldn’t make sense. ALSO that part you picked up on with the calendar is spot on! Foreshadowing right under our noses. Great video.
D2niceforu I think you’re just seeing Claudia before she died. We are just seeing her out of the chronological order of her life. Before she was shot in 1953 she went and showed Jonas how the machine works, trained him etc. then went back to 1953 and got shot by Noah when her journey had come to an end
At first I wasn't convinced with the time travel , because there are so many illogical things but now with the introduction of multiple universes I m actually all onboard with the story. My season 3 hype is greater than season 2 hype !
Why did Mads have to die? Who were the two children who died in 1953? Why were their faces burned? What about Agnes's relationship with Claudia's mother? What happened to Claudia's mother? How does 1921 play into this? That little girl that was sweeping as Jonas ran out of the house was creepy. Who is she? Agnes? How does Elizabeth become blind in one eye?
I feel like Adam doesn't know about the alternate universe and Martha2 because him staying with Martha1 breaks the loop. I think Jonas usually goes after Adam after he kills Marta and that resets the cycle, but he stayed with her therefore being there for Martha2 to take him away and break the paradox. If I'm wrong please prove me wrong. I love seeing other theories.
I watched your review before I watched the final episode so I spoiled it for myself. I went back on time and told my younger self not to watch your channel on June 26 but dammit I'm the younger me and the events from the past and the future will recur again and again infinitely!
I absolutely love this show you have to pay full attention while watching or else you might not be able to follow it's only supposed to be three seasons but I think it'll be so popular they're going to make more than three I hope
Don’t forget there is one time machine that we don’t know where it came from. The one that magnus and his friends used. Remember ( I forgot the character I think it’s Jonas) sais where did he got the time machine because technically he is the one who has it ....
Who circle the 27th in the calendar in Martha 2 universe??? If it's Adam then how?? We know Hannah crossed on 21st and then Adam came in last episode to circle bcoz he remember as you say it in the video .
The most confusing thing in the second season was to know Charlotte was the mother and the daughter? I hope the writer has some mindboggling story in hand.
The last thing we see is the house getting crushed by the dark matter, but when jones goes to the future he goes to his old home. Maybe a continuity error, maybe we'll find out in season 3.
I just want to add that when the apocalypse comes there are both the young and older jonas so there can be jonas fighting himself. One becomes adam while the other is ......still unknown to me.
I feel like Noah tried to erase Adam in season 1 when he was about to put young Jonas in the time machine which he knew was killing people. Would be interesting to know if he knew young Jonas was Adam.
This is the only series ever in my life in which I made 100 % wrong guesses through out 😁 but the funny thing is time travel plot is easy to twist because logic is not important. Hopefully they shouldn't drag it to season 4 or 5 and make it like POC 😁 One of the best Sci fi thriller ever ♥️💯
I think I have already my first and secoond fav shows of all time and 100% ceritain it isn't gonnna change anytime soon. Breaking bad and Dark! Breaking bad will for ever be the fav but it's gonna take hell of a show to take dark's spot! Can't wait for the third season to have my mind blown another 200 times.
This one line from Claudia "I saw a world without you" that she says once, rushed, never to say it again is the series in a Nutshell. Blink and you'll miss... How many show trusts their audience's intelligence and perception like this? Gotta love it!
exactly not a lot of shows trust their audience.
I wonder if the old Jonas is from yet another universe? Not from New Martha's universe, or Young Jonas universe, but from a totally different one? they would never do this in star trek :P It's so sterile there, that even the notion of meeting yourself could cause a paradox. I think Dark takes this much further and just makes it additive instead of linear :)
@@pardharam3167 whoa, good catch.
I think you might be right
I think, beside all those WTF moments, the most impressive thing of the show is how we have no real hero and no real villain.
So basically "Dark" is showing us that not only Hate but Love also can destroy the World in some way or the other 🤷♀️
Hannah is a true villain though. She is vile.
@@Sawyer1982OAC I thought she recognized him and that was the reason she ended up saving him (shot the rope after hanging him)

I don't think that's it's the universe where Jonas doesn't exist because otherwise there won't be the Xs on the calendar and a family picture with Jonas in it, in the house.
Dark is brilliant. That is a great catch with the calendar, I never would have spotted that.

@@000jimbojones000 I've watched the first season like 5 times but never wondered about this
I have a few thoughts about this.
What if they somehow created Winden and everyone there is their offspring.
wow!! that kind make sense . but think about it , its too simple of a story to be true!! the writers of dark wont give it to us like that without twisting our brains first !! hahah

Peter looks a lot like Noa
I think Adam doesn't know about Martha 2.0 time machine otherwise he would have stayed there. The fact that Martha 2.0 brings Young jonas to another dimension is the loophole Jonas and Claudia wanted to create in order to stop Young Jonas becoming Adam.
I think this is the best answers out of all I've seen and read very accurate answer homie I thought the same thing
Except Adam wants it to happen cause he knows it will lead young Jonas into becoming him
@@ulyssesbraint.7442 I don't think that's the case because then the loop continues and there is no end..
That's what I thought but if Adam didn't know that Martha 2.0 would come to take Jonas into the other universe he would've known that young Jonas wouldve died in the apocalypse and thus would not become Adam. So I think he does know and have experienced everything that Young Jonas is going to experience
@@lapyaethit803 Maybe he would've escaped another way
That explains why in the picture of old Elisabeth with Noah and Charlotte she doesn't have her scars and she has long hair.

The Question is : Has Adam really experinced the meeting with Martha 2 ? Or it is a new thing ? That would be awesome
Exactly. Has older Jonas also went thru all this too and still ended up as Adam?

He certainly has experienced it, there is no loophole. You cannot change the future, it is fate and will occur as time has meant for it to.
Ulrich, Mikkel and Helge are the most tragic characters. Especially Helge he never stood a chance.

Also: The last scene in the 2nd season is the Kahnwald house being destroyed. In the first episode you can see Jonas visiting the intact house.
that’s a solid point
I dont think the loop can be closed. thats gonan be the "Dark" revaltion in the finale
What about the beginning of the time loop when young Jonas from the future comes and goes with young Mikkel in the caves?
Just my question.
Just my question .
We were tripping when saw the calendar with the x! The multi-verse idea is really all over season 2 when you look back at it. The story got so much richer with season 2 and I can't wait for season 3 to see the real game that evil Jonas is playing. Great video.
the thing martha 2 had looks like the Eden Apple.
Adam must be from another timeline because he is so unlike our Jonas
The thing I never understood is why Adam says it's the last cycle...If same things have been happening all this time than how come this is last cycle....

I don't believe we see the calendar in 2053 for the rest of the season, but I'd wager that if we did, new X's would be marked off to correspond to what day it was in all the timelines.
that would work if this wasnt a cycle so the past had to have happned already
You have a creative mind but that would make it a Ghost Show as imagine waking up the next day and seeing someone else has crossed another date!
But 27 was marked with a circle, a circle that adan marked days later..

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but the 'X' on the 21st of June is indeed marked when Jonas looks at the calendar in 2052. It is visible as Jonas approaches the calendar.. the angle of the shot when the camera zooms in may make it appear as though the 'X' is no longer there, but with a keen eye, one can see the bottom half of the 'X'
All of this to say that the notion of a multiverse is indeed revealed only at the very end of Season 2.

If it goes by that same thing. Charlotte might end up in the future and Elizabeth might end up somewhere else completely
It is interesting that this show is simultaneously very complicated and also fairly easy to understand if you watch every second and don't look away.
I feel like Martha 2.0 is the version of Martha if she had stayed in the bunker instead of running out.
My mind is fucked
Great analysis and ideas, I'm yet to watch the season 3 so I'm recapping a bit :D
Thanks for the feedback! Glad I could help.
Season 3 is great
Why then didn’t middle Jonas have any knowledge of Martha 2 then?
Before she was shot in 1953 she went and showed Jonas how the machine works, trained him etc. then went back to 1953 and got shot by Noah when her journey had come to an end
omg the calendars..!! 😱
The mark is there
At first I wasn't convinced with the time travel , because there are so many illogical things but now with the introduction of multiple universes I m actually all onboard with the story.
My season 3 hype is greater than season 2 hype !
thank you! great video
Yes but then, who drew the circle in the calendar that jonas saw in the future?
If the creators need 5 years to make the third season at least as good as the first 2 seasons are, i can accept that
Why did Mads have to die?
Very good show it's just confusing asf but that's why I like it way more questions than answers that's what makes it a good show
I watched your review before I watched the final episode so I spoiled it for myself. I went back on time and told my younger self not to watch your channel on June 26 but dammit I'm the younger me and the events from the past and the future will recur again and again infinitely!
I absolutely love this show you have to pay full attention while watching or else you might not be able to follow it's only supposed to be three seasons but I think it'll be so popular they're going to make more than three I hope
oh goood..... this show is something incredible! i like it so much! and i like your channel and your thoughts! hi from russia!!
Don’t forget there is one time machine that we don’t know where it came from. The one that magnus and his friends used. Remember ( I forgot the character I think it’s Jonas) sais where did he got the time machine because technically he is the one who has it ....
BRAVO!!!
I watched the beginning of the first episode of season 2 again to check this, however, the 21 is marked on the calendar...
This is the highest IQ show I have ever seen in my life. I’ve never had to think so much lmao.
It's the grandfather paradox.
This is the only series ever in my life in which I made 100 % wrong guesses through out 😁 but the funny thing is time travel plot is easy to twist because logic is not important. Hopefully they shouldn't drag it to season 4 or 5 and make it like POC 😁
One of the best Sci fi thriller ever ♥️💯
You have to watch Twin Peaks guys - Unbeatable mystery, fascinating time travel and scary stunning drama... Just like this german masterpiece 😎
I am going to watch it
Or Fringe.
I think I have already my first and secoond fav shows of all time and 100% ceritain it isn't gonnna change anytime soon. Breaking bad and Dark! Breaking bad will for ever be the fav but it's gonna take hell of a show to take dark's spot! Can't wait for the third season to have my mind blown another 200 times.
subed btw,
