It's not in the 2053, it's 2086 when Jonas goes back to 1920...
When adult Jonas finally saves Franziska, Magnus and Bartosz, he can only teleport them 33 years into the future or into the past. He decides to do so into the future, knowing that in the future is the gap/particle of God created in the "Apocalypse" of 2020. Already in 2053, they use the particle as Jonas will do young in 2086 (later to be almost hanged), knowing perfectly where he would take it.
This will teleport them 163 years into the past, back to 1887, where they will found (or founded, as seen xD) Sic Mundus and 33 years later, in 1920, they will recruit Noah himself with his future self (already adult).
Noah is not a time traveler like them (Noah was born in the early twentieth century), so they make him go through a series of tests to enter (the adult Noah himself clarifies it to the young man in one of his scenes). One of these tests is to take care of Bartosz (the motives are still unknown), with whom they are building the tunnel inside the cave. Young Noah ends up killing Bartosz (now an adult) with a beak. That scene, for those who ask, is the beginning of the season.
@@ferranmateo4803 I'm pretty sure it's 2053 when Jonas goes back to 1921. If it was 2086, then Elisabeth Doppler would be around 70 years old and she didn't look that old.
EDIT: Just checked credits for the first episode of the second season, it's clearly written "Elisabeth Doppler 2053".
Agnes is Noahs SISTER. The "priest but not a man of faith" might actually referring to Bartosz, who looks exactly like the tunnel digger that young Noah kills in the opening scene, for having lost faith. It would also be impactful to learn that Old Noah and Young Bartosz develop a friendship etc, but then he uses Young Noah to kill Old Bartosz:( Time travel is sad.
U got some things wrong, Noah takes baby Charlotte to somewhere in 1970's not 1954 as she's already seen as teen in 1986 and at the end where Adam goes into God particle because he need to go to 2020 right before the apocalypse to kill Matha, he didn't went into future, after he killed Martha who knows where he went...
Maybe you also miss the fact that Alexander story was never told. How he kill real Alexander and who is really that guy.
Also i am sure that anyone noticed that Agnus (especially when she kiss Egon Tideman wife) look exactly the same as Transvestite man from the 2019/20?
The person who directed and wrote this series are beyond the thinking capacity.
Or maybe they came from the future or past or in other world?
Or did alot of acid n reading

The casting in this show is so good, that when "older Magnus" showed up, he didn't even have to introduce himself!
Yeah even some of the characters you can speculate as to who they are just because they've been cast in mind of looking like the younger version of the characters or other way around.
Especially adult/young Jonas. You can easily tell that they're actually the same person, while Adam is almost like an otherworldly force.
Indeed, they all fit amazingly well to their older/younger versions, even Elizabeth and Ulrich fit in their own way, but Magnus and Jonas indeed appear to be like very obvious relatives to their older versions.
That’s german perfectionism haha I HATE when in Hollywood movies parents with brown eyes have a child with blue eyes! It doesn’t make sense
does anybody else think alexander TIEDEMANN looks like an older version of NOAH????
You totally forgot about Hannah who's just hanging out in 1953🤣
which episode?
Exactly what I thought... I think she stays back there
And she took the name "Nielsen" i think she could be related to Ulrichs family in some way
very interested to know what's gonna happen to her. She's one strange character.
Man we all fucken know what she's going to try to do. That bitch about to try to change her past and future that will result with her having a family with Ulrich.i fucken despise her persistence into loving this man 😂
Can we just give a moment to casting director? Like damn
Yeah, I'm amazing how well the actors all resemble their older and younger selves. Very well done.
On top of that we don't have such a big actor pool here in Germany. U know every actor in the series from here or there. Truly amazing.

Its weird for a show to have the same guy as the hero and the villain. Quite innovative

My girlfriend and I agree on the casting. It's actually remarkable how similar the likeness of certain characters are. There have been moments where someone appears on screen for the first time in another timeline and we go "wait is that.. oh it is! wow!"
Also is it just me or does old Ulrich look like Sylvestre Stallone in a bad wig lmao
i watched it in original german voice and english subtitle, well i know a bit of german, but its quite fast for me to understand, but its just much better than with english voiceover. the kid Mikkel and the older Michael is so similar, and he has a younger photo which i guess is his real life photo, same for Noah, holding her daughter, i think that might be a real life photo, but not sure, they use makeup to present characters a bit older, but overall is awesome how they look so similar
@@Unforgiven11 Old Ulrich looks like Iggie Pop

Such a well written scene.

6:20 the older Jonas remembers Martha dying on the floor because he stared at the exact spot where she died before
Damn, I was wondering why he kept staring at that spot. Didn’t even put it together when she died 🤦🏻♀️
when stared the older jonas at the Spot?
@Su Aydın Yes, Older Jonas has experienced Martha 2. If Martha 2 never showed up then Jonas dies there. If Jonas dies there then there is no older versions of Jonas. If there are no older versions of Jonas then he would have never been there to begin with and you would have a completely different world then there living in. Its complicated I know. I think it is safe to assume at this point in the story absolutely nothing has changed that there just stuck in the same endless loop. If it is possible for them to change anything and they do manage it they will essentially be creating another world which there are already multiple.
SO my question then, is that the new Martha that pops up at the end- this is the first time this has happened, right? Because in the previous loop Jonas is driven to evil by Martha dying- but now she seems to have stepped in right at that moment to prevent him becoming Adam
@UCd2fzmLFC4BcJYZ5uXQsIgg As Martha 2 said to Jonas "I am not who you think I am". she is not this Jonas's Martha. The existence of Martha 2 doesn't change the fact that his Martha died on that kitchen floor. We don't know what is different in Martha 2s Timeline compared to Martha 1s. The two Martha's could have lived very different lives and have become two very different people. It still makes sense for older Jonas to try to save his Martha even though he knows he will meet another version of Martha. Older Jonas has no idea that before Martha dies he tried to save her by locking her in the cellar. That being said I think that even as older Jonas I locking Martha in the Cellar there is a part of him that doesn't Believe that it will actually save her.
I’m just glad I don’t live in that town.
so true

Egon is such an interesting character. At first I think the 80's version of him is such a jerk towards Ulrich, but later I discovered he's a bit naive and can't tell what is really good and bad. He's a good police in a heart but lacks of perspective.
Egon Tiedemann, his wife left him in the 50’s and his daughter killed him in the 80’s, truly the most tragic of all the characters, however he could be smashing Hannah soon so swings and roundabouts I guess

@@amandev7371 the world didn't deserve him u.u
The saddest part for me was watching Jonas trying to save his dad/mikkel but couldn't do it. Shit had me tearing up so bad.... just so much emotion behind that scene
Egon was almost as bad for me in season one as Hannah, the way he was out to get Ulrich. But in season two, I saw a lonely old man trying to come to terms with the haunting realization that his false assumptions damaged many lives. He was really a sweet old guy and his reaction when Claudia gave the impression that she wanted more time with him. It was so heartbreaking to see him realize what her intentions had been. Now, when he uttered those last words at her that she was the white devil. Do you think he meant it literally, that she was an evil person, or was it more that he simply understood she was the person they'd been talking about all those years ago?

What about Ines putting sleeping pills on Mikkel's food/drink
Yup that turned him into a depressed under confident person.... otherwise he used to be an intelligent kid
I guess she did it to prevent Mikkel finding a way to go back - letting him kind of "forget" his past life. As jonas said - he couldn't go back since jonas already existed in the future. So fate (in this case ines) had to keep him in this time.
In which episode was this?

Is it possible that Ines eventually found out Mikkel really was from the future and she did everything she could to keep him in 1986 ( adopting him, sleeping pills etc). I genuinely think the casting directors for 'Dark' can time-travel - every character's older/younger self is so well cast that they probably just went and got older/younger versions of the main cast from the future/past.
I think the writers are not Humans may be somthing else...
And I believe this show will have No 1 place in entire series in the world
They are humans and I think, the creation of the plot itself wasn't that hard as many might think it was (the core is a graph of relations/relationships and a floating graph of the people from 2019 actually --> they represent a "layer of the quasi-present" inside the show). The harder work I guess was to convince several deciders with that plot and to form the cast in a plausible way.
@@Petrucciation1 Well it is hard to create a plot without any holes and right now i dont find any or read from any found plot holes. At the same time most actions of the characters are understandable through their development, that's nothing easy behind it too.

I know, right??! I didnt think that was possible! Fisrt five minutes and i was covered in goose bumps 👀
It’s just way more confusing and frustrating! But better, yeah
Juli Scherer in some ways it was slightly more perplexing. But I feel like they did a much better job this season of explaining the characters connections to each other. As well as the science/mysticism behind all of the weird shit that happens.
Juli Scherer Oh God I know!! But one of the themes they kept alluding yo was none of them have free will and are doomed to repeat the same choices over and over.
But....there are things that were changed. Hannah going back in time for example, never happened before. As well as Katarina doing her thing.
I believe those two, specifically Hannah, caused something unpredicted by “Adam” and the others, especially young and middle aged Jonas.
Hannah traveling back never happened before. I think Middle aged Jonas showing up just as Hannah put that gun to her head was no coincidence. That was the moment she killed herself. But he stopped it and that led to her going back to the 1950’s.
That’s when things get REALLY interesting. Bc she went back, she did something remarkable. She didn’t just change the future, she created a completely independent timeline. In other words, A NEW WORLD!!! The world that the Martha who showed up in the last episode and saved young Jonas was from.
Sorry for going so hard here. This show doesn’t have many followers so I never get to talk to people about it 😫
Vincent Vega omg i understand you so much haha i can’t talk with anyone about this and it’s fucking up my brain for so long now. I didn’t know that Hannah never went back to the 20s before I thought it was already a part of the loop. Interesting to know that it’s possible to change the cycle

I feel very sad about Egon's death. For me he was one of the best characters!
poor Egon 😔
He was a hot shot too
He's too late to realized that he can make things for Ulrich or Mikkel better
@@frdpaw He was just to good for this world - claudia
He was a dick
Egon and Regina both are diagnosed with Cancer but not because of the nuclear power plant, it has to do with Claudia's time travelling and the radioactivity involved.
That's why when old Claudia's at the morgue, the doctor says the Geiger counter was very high. I also think that we don't necessarily know if martha2 is from the future but could be from the present time of the parallel universe ( possibly one where Jonas doesn't exist) This also alludes to the importance of what Claudia told Jonas that it isn't about Jonas or Mikkel and that won't change the apocalypse from happening and I believe that's because, from the multiverse introduction to this story, it could mean that a different person is a focal point in that universe. So we have Adam and Jonas as the focus for THIS universe, but I have a feeling martha2 is the focus for the other universe and I get the feeling old martha2 will be called Eve. Adam and Eve.
This is probably the best take on time travel and parallel universes I've ever seen story-wise, and at least for me this is exactly what I would have wanted to see in Interstellar ( not the love storyline they went for) but this is beside the point.
Also, I agree the casting is mind-blowing.
If so, why didn't Claudia herself get cancer ?
Oooo I like the Adam and Eve theory, haven’t heard that one yet!
I think you might be right on the whole 'martha2 if from present time of a parallel universe', it's laudable cause Old Claudia did say 'I have seen a world without you (Jonas) and its horrible' maybe Martha2 is from that world annnddd she has no idea who Jonas like they've never met before cause Jonas does not exist in that world.
I agree. Her autopsy showed her having high levels of radiation.

The cast of this series is such a delight. teenage and adult Magnus, teenage adult and elder Ulrich, teenage and adult Alexander and many more. i woner if the actors are related or just a perfect fit by coincidence.

You're right! I've just checked that scene and they lookalike A LOT

I was thinking the exact same thing!!!
Oh shit I think your right
I was thinking the same, the first time the man (who killed by younger noah) showed up, i was like "wait... is this bartosz?"
maybe we're right, because older jonas save Magnus, Franzisca and Bartosz and survive from the apocalypse then they traveled to 1921.

Interesting thing to note, when Katharina goes through the tunnel in the caves there's a bright light behind the "Sic Mundus" door. "Also, Agnes and Noah are confirmed to be siblings, not former lovers like you suggested"
Considering the convoluted relationships in this show, it shouldn't be a major problem for them to be both.
But if they arn't lovers, that just leaves us with another yet unfinished storyline: who's Tronte's father and where did he get the cigarette burnmarks from?
MAYBE that light is because of creation of God particle and it's excess energy...
Groffili maybe Bartosz
@@Groffili Tronte's not from an orphanage?
@@Groffili nah I don't think they are lovers. When they are kn 1921 you actually realize they are siblings and they grow up together. I doubt that when they grew older and time traveled they didn't recognize each other. Also young noah fell in love with elisabeth when he saw her in the bunker and to this day he still is in love with her. That's why he didn't do anything to her when he met her again as an adult in s1. Although I don't understand why he doesn't travel into the future to meet her again, cause he said he "lost her" but she is alive?

The actors (and the casting) is phenomenal in this show. Case in point: The scene where Martha enters Hannah's house and sees olderJonas for the first time. The way he acts, you can really see some of the mannerisms of the youngJonas, the nervousness, the look in the eyes, etc. He acts partly as youngJonas would in the situation. Compare and contrast this with youngJonas and Claudia in the same episode. He is calm, self-assured and confident, much as olderJonas usually is. The year he has spent studying with olderClaudia has changed him.

my theory is that they're adopted siblings.. both have a different family name (I've read that Noah's name is Hanno Tauber) and live with this woman (Erna) who apparently has a big heart... so my guess is they were both abandoned kids who were adopted by her. which means that there would be no real incest if they had had a kid together 😅

It's all connected. Everything is Now.
I think the time loop finally breaks when Martha 2.0 takes jonas along with her to an alternate world. Think about this.. the older jonas knew that martha would die at the hands of adam because he experienced the same thing already, as his younger self. That's why he tries to keep her in the bunker so it doesn't happen again. At the end of season 2, in the mind of older jonas, he knows that martha is dead(as he finds out that the past cannot be changed from the younger noah). The thing the older jonas doesn't know is that Martha from another world had come to meet the younger jonas. That's where the time loop breaks
Nahh I don’t think so. Moreover when Martha 2.0 comes to save Jonas she immediately tells ‘ I’m not the person who you think I am’ . And since today s3 trailer dropped , it was weird seeing martha 2.0 in Jonas’s yellow raincoat. Maybe she is from the world where Jonas doesn’t exist . And one more thing, Adam knows about martha 2.0 because in one of the scenes there is a blueprint of that mini time machine that martha 2.0 used , way back in 1921
@@Mockyy_8 is that scene from season 2?
Yes the scene where Adam talks to Jonas about the loophole.. there is a youtube channel called sic podcast .. watch their video
@Hunny Bunny you're right. Martha was meant to arrive at his house from another world. If she hadn't jonas would've died in the apocalypse and hence, adam wouldn't have existed.
I've read a theory which said Adam isn't Jonas, but actually Mikkel/Michael. Remember the scene when Mikkel gets lost in the woods? Michael suddenly appears out of nowhere and calls Jonas by his name. It might've been jonas' hallucination. If it is, why was Michael covered in the black radioactive material from the nuclear plant? There's no way Jonas at that time would've known about the nuclear waste buried in the plant

So my question is ..why on earth are they trying to build that "Chair Time Machine " ..even when they are easily traveling through time...they have like 3 time machines, a time traveling cave and a freaking goofeball time travel particle thingy
We can assume that they don't really need to create the time machine, but they need to recreate the events that led to that future. Basically, without the missing kids the future changes and maybe Adam doesn't exist

It was the first ever Netflix original in the syfy/psychological thriller category to get popularized with the rest of America/the world. I think the storyline behind Dark is 20x better though. And is a much more satisfying show to unravel
@@NoahBLance thats not quite right the Script of Dark was even older than stranger things. They were just second to air. ;-) Also i think that these shows have nothing in common beside a missing child that gets lost in the wood at night. And while Stranger things is a easy to watch show. Dark is way more brain/mainf uck and not for everyone because its a complicated show. So less teens will watch Dark for sure. Btw. Ulrich lived through a brutal time in prison and psych ward but I actually feely sorry more for Egon Tiedemann.. Time never gave him a chance!
I would have a different theory about Bartosz and the relationship between Noah and Agnes:
If you remember, Noah gave Bartosz a "task", but we haven't experienced it yet. About Agnes we know that she was married to a priest who died and that he was not a good man.
At the beginning of Season 2 we see the young Noah with another man (who in my opinion looks very similar to Bartosz) in the cave that creates the portal for time travel. This other man has also tattooed the sign of Sic Mundus on his body. Noah kills this man with a pickaxe in this scene.
I believe that Noah's task to Bartosz is to create this portal with his younger self in 1921. Because Agnes is Noah's sister, they could get to know each other at a young age. Because Bartosz is a somewhat sneaky person, his description, which Agnes told "that he wasn't a good man", might also apply to him. So Bartosz could be the father of Tronte (the son of Agnes) and also the grandfather of Ulrich and the great-grandfather of Martha. That would add another level to the whole mess.
Agnes was very young in 1921, so I don't think she was married to older Bartosch, who dies in 1921. Maybe the answer to this is even weirder. Who knows.
I thought the same too ..
@@KyloAnne that's what I thought at first, but she is older in 1921 when she kills Noah.
I believe this theory and if I'm not wrong, Noah says to that guy that he had lost faith before he kills him. That's what Agnes says about her husband in 1953.
Jéssica Medeiros omg is that actually what she says? I think it makes sense Bartosz being Agnes husband, I mean there must be a reason why he was chosen by Noah (by Adam actually), he has to play a bigger part in this and that's exactly what it could be
