I finally posted a useless microwave video - The Guts

- In this video I finally make a scrap microwave video. I do it for @brycewiborg8095 because he asked about microwaves and also because I have no life. Luckily this one was copper and a good sized transformer, too! If you like short videos about cool stuff, check out Bryce's channel.
The microwave is a Danby Designer and it yielded a nice bit of copper, brass, aluminum, copper wire, and magnets!

You save the mylars because you like tripping over stuff
Molars? You've been dreaming about the dentist again.
@@HHRecycling mylars
You have never been wrong
You're probably right.
Strongest magnet I have is from my first microwave. Good video my friend
@@EricScrapping4Dinidog Thank you, and yeah, they're great magnets.
@@HHRecycling Thank you for the great video!
The transformer is useful for many other projects unless someone comes up with the brilliant idea to shred the wires covered with enamel in which case it becomes useless for anything but copper scraps.
What never seizes to peeve me to no avail is the US lingo calling steel plates for tin and calling actual tin (the basic element Sn) for solder.
@@shigatsuningen Yes, I have saved a few for people who wanted to make wood burners and spot welders, but nobody ever came and got them. I live in a remote area in northern Canada with 700-800 people, so we don't have too many people who are looking for projects like that.
As for the tin thing, I think it is from the old days when food cans were coated with tin. Growing up, everyone called them tin cans, even though they were steel.
@@HHRecycling That is true. I have a similar problem finding enough transformers where I live, in the middle of a forest in Sweden. :) Some 850 people in my region.
We need to start saving PVC pipe and set up a bottle post line between us. LOL
Pretty Cool video 👍
I always wondered what was inside a microwave ! … it’s a very convenient item to have!
@@Kevscancave Thanks, Kev! I'd scrap one for the magnets.
Hey Chris, nice info to know. I've never broken down the math on microwaves, i might do 5-15 a year so it's not a big deal so much for me, but i love that you and Scrapitall do. I have done the math on some of the scrapping i do, but it's judt more or less my 2 nd job. Anyway, great video , can't wait for the one. Take care!
@@DanielHouston-uw3ir Hey buddy, thank you. I only see that you get 10-30 magnets a year from that statement. 😜😂
I like seeing the math so I can prioritize if I'm short on time, but I know it's all dependent on each person and their yard.
You take it easy, brother.
My local dump charges $15.
Thank you for mentioning my video buddy.
2.5 pounds of copper ain’t bad at all. Sweet!!
@@scrapitall200 for one microwave? You should put up a stand on the way in saying you will only charge $12.
@@HHRecycling yes for one microwave.
🤙🤙👍 i quit taking them apart, just use them for smalls till they full then screw door shut 😁✌️
Yeah, but if I had your money, I'd burn mine.
Well done brother a very enjoyable and informative video thank you for sharing this with us six stars brother
@@josephcormier5974 Thanks, Joe. I figured you probably forgot how to do microwaves, so I did a little refresher. 😜
Awesome. Easy and fun to do
That's a big 10-4, my friend.
Heck yea. Ez and fun
@@ScorpionMetals Yep!
That’s is handy
Beg pardon?
@@HHRecycling the flexible tripod, keep up brother
Good enough.
I've kept speaker magnets for years.
Only had # 1 once.
I try to leave the world cleaner than I found it.
They do buy insulated wire. I only strip the heavy gauge wire.
We can sell aluminum with steel screws, or rivets as breakage.
More than steel price, and less than aluminum.
@@brycewiborg8095 yeah, I have a few speaker magnets, but I don't scrap speakers as a rule, so I don't get many. I probably scrap 50 microwaves a year though.
That's a good way to live. We need more people to be like that.
@@brycewiborg8095 a few rivets and they don't ding me too bad, but our breakage price is usually a penny under shred price.
Też mam do demontażu.Całkowicie sprawna elektrycznie tylko 1 mały plastik się złamał i nie mogę skleić.🔧⚙🔩Pozdrawiam.
Yes, I got several from a hotel that worked but the door handles were broken or parts of the plastic but nobody wanted them, even for free.
