    8:00 TMS320E17 is a DSP. It has 4K of EPROM memory and 256 bytes of ram. Other 320's have different memory configurations.

    That was a great tear down. Looks like they are worth grabbing. Zinc die cast and cast aluminum go in the same box at my yard. Very cool

      @@HHRecycling Zinc (or die cast) goes for 10 to 15 cents LESS than cast aluminum. 😥

    I have a buddy who worked in radio repair in the Navy circa 1970.
    Unfortunately he won't go on line so I can't forward this to him.
    He is great for obsolete C B radios.

      Yeah, I found out that Canada had quite a few tech companies back in the day. Television, radio, cellular, etc. Too bad it's all made overseas now.

    I believe shield is called Mu-Metal, particularly for magnetic shielding.

    Nice find Chris! Most Eprom chips have solid gold bonding wires. There will be a lot more components in there that hold gold and silver also. Nice boards. I'm sure Kris (that's right) will want them chips lol.

    Surprise,surprise !!! Vintage gold(i love the old stuff,so much gets overlooked). I wonder if that still powered up? Did you try? Anyway great find. I always like the oddball stuff, it's like cracker jacks, never know what the prize might've been back then, nowadays most electronics are too predictable,loved the show Chris!

It needs a certain handset, I think. I hope I will come across another one that's intact someday. I found out that they sold for about a grand back in the 80s. I don't know what that would be now.

    That is a VERY nice chip!!! The "holy grail" of CPU chips...a gold legged 8087/8088, currently at $225/lb!! I've only run across about 15 of them in my life! 😍🤑👍

      They pretty well secured,old Georgia state patrol,DNR and GBI radio stuff plus local county units,makes it so bad is i have a key 🤦

    Ya peeled off the stickers from the shiny UVPROM's, but the poor CPU stays under wraps. I'm guessing it's a 6809.

      @@HHRecycling it's a chip with the same footprint as the pretty gold one, and right next to it, but not as flashy. There were two stickers on top of it. It's probably only worth a buck though.

      @@AppliedCryogenics I'm not worried about the value, really. As far as scrap goes, I would rather someone could use it rather than it getting shredded. I just ask that people cover the shipping if they want something. I'll check when I get out to the shop.

      See , that hard ware could have been changed some . The Cristal’s frequency’s may have changed , and that’s all . All the coding could be the same . But ignorance shot you in the ass . Good luck . Um , there are technicians who dept with that equipment somewhere . Google doesn’t have all the answers . But they try .

    You can’t sell any of it , IF it didn’t work before you took it apart . But scap ? Well youre only going to get what the materials are worth to make another one . If the gold is all you want out of it , that’s all the worth you’re going to get .

      @@jamesbeemer7855 I don't understand what you are saying, but I wasn't planning on selling any of it other than scrap. If someone can use any of the parts, I would give it to them, but I don't have the tools or the knowledge to test anything other than plugging something in. This technology hasn't been able to access towers since 2009.

      @@HHRecycling that doesn’t mean it’s scrap . Whole assemblies can be changed by someone who knows what they are doing . But tool late . You tore that assembly apart already . You could have made much more than scap money for that thing .

      @@jamesbeemer7855 Well, I'll tell you what. I'll sell you anything you want to buy for scrap price. I'm a truck driver that's trying to start a recycling company in the middle of northern British Columbia and I really don't have the resources or the desire to spend hours trying to find someone who inevitably doesn't want to pay the $70 to ship the equipment to them. I will give anyone anything they want for free, and I always ask the ham radio club if they want this stuff and sometimes they do, but they didn't want this thing. I've had it sitting in a pile of stuff for people to go through and it has been over a year, so now it can make its way to some other life.
      I have one guy that fixes video game consoles and computers, but only focuses on things that people want and then we split the profits, unfortunately the 750 people here aren't looking for much more than the latest things.
      So let me know what you want and I'll send it to you, you just pay the shipping.
