I've wanted to make one of these for years. I tried it today with a picture of my granddaughter. It came out perfect. Thank you so much for this easy to follow video!
i didn't know you could sublimate like that without spray painting it white or using white vinyl first ugh! The amount of projects i could've done if only i had known this so thank you for sharing this with us!! I will be doing this soon!
@@LeslieIrene did you laminate on. the smooth side or the textured side? i wanted to do this as a mother day gift for my mother and mother in law confused about what side u used and will it work for a Cricut easy press ??
I am glad that you found it helpful. I prefer laminate over vinyl, but everyone has their own preference. I feel like the laminate lasts longer on the substrate.
Hello Leslie I am new to your channel this is awesome I’m always trying to figure out some new technique for gifts thank you so much for sharing this these will make great valentine gifts and Mother’s Day gifts.
I really like u.ur so easy to follow thank you so much.. I'm new to all this and love to binge watch UA-cam.. can't wait to binge watch you.. I can watch and keep up with you some work to fast. Can I ask what else can u use the laminate pouches on please.. I know about canvas the glass and wood what else please. And thank you again x
You are so sweet. Thank you so much for the sweet comment. There are so many things that you can use it on like poster boards, gift bags, metal, etc. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.
Hello first of all thank you for your videos, I have a question is the image supposed to look blurry after a few months doing it exactly like you are doing it ? TIA
Great video thank you for posting. Do you think that the laminate could be cut 1st like with my cricut? also have you washed it yet? if so how did it hold up? thank you
I haven’t tried washing it but I think it would be fine. It’ll probably be similar to vinyl. It should be put in the dishwasher or soaked in water. Other than that I think it should hold up.
@@LeslieIrene I will I have to get my printer set up first this is going to be my first project. If I’d does will then going to make Christmas presents this year for family
@@LeslieIrene I did one tonight with clear vinyl. It looks really cool. I did end up painting the back white because I did a pic of my granddaughter and she was a little see through.
Did you experience the laminate not adhering or bubbles? I have some spots that have bubble or like the laminate didn't stick. 385 for 10 seconds on the laminate. Any suggestions?
I find that if I have good pressure, I don’t get bubbles. But if I do get some, I take a scraper tool like the teckwrap one, and rub it to get the bubble out while it’s still hot. I hope that helps
@@LeslieIrene It does...I was worried about putting too much pressure and breaking it. Will try adding more pressure and the scraper tool. thank you :)
What temperature is your heat press on? I am also experiencing a lot of bubbles and cloudiness. There's no part of the glass is clear. I have the pressure as hard as I dare go for the glass pane. I'm using a pane from a picture frame.
My temperature seemed to fluctuate when I had the image on it and only the center of the square glass had the image fused into the laminate the rest is quite blurry. Any ideas.
I would say, make sure that your pressure is even all through out. It seems like you might not had good pressure on those areas. I would also recommend to adjust your pressure before you put the sublimation paper on the glass to avoid ghosting. Also be careful when you open your heat press because you don't want the paper to shift and make the image blurry. I hope that helps a bit.
I followed your directions, but it didn't work. Heated transparency 10 seconds, it was wrinkled, then I added the image 385 for 60 seconds, it didn't transfer very well and it had a lot of wrinkled air pockets.
Thanks for the great instructions - just picked up some $tree cutting boards and want to play with them!

I was surprised that it did that well. I will try it very soon.
Love your simple and great way of doing things easy...thanks
Thank you. ❤️
I like them done this way verses the white vinyl.
Beautiful!! How would you wash it after cutting food on it?
This is BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you for sharing!!! I just ordered my sublimation printer and I will MOST DEF being trying this once it comes in!! 🥰🥰🥰

❤ this was awesome!! Thank you!
So it's been two years lol, does the sublimation on laminate fade ? I'm wondering if I should spray a UV coat on.
Very nice. What did you use to out the legs back on
I added white paint to the back and dishwasher safe Mod Podge as a sealant and was successful in making the trivet a spoon rest for my stove top.
That’s awesome. I would love to see how it turned out.
Thank u for this video I'm new to sublimation and wondered if I could just use the laminate sheet or did I have to use the vinyl.

Thanks for the tips! I’ve done it 5x and each time I have bubbles under the laminate😖😖😖
You might not have enough pressure if you have bubble forming on the laminate.
Great! I really enjoy your videos and your presentations! I will try!
I am so glad that you enjoy my videos.
Turned out nice ty for sharing 😊
Thank you!
Very nice. What type of sublimation paper, and where did you purchase it? Thank you.
It should be linked in the description.
WOW!!! How well does the laminate hold up with use?
Very cool, thank you for doing the video. How do you like your heat-press? Would you recommend it or a different one?
I love it. It’s a great one. I have no complaints about it at all.

Great video thank you for posting. Do you think that the laminate could be cut 1st like with my cricut? also have you washed it yet? if so how did it hold up? thank you
You possibly can do that. I would say if you do that cut it a tad bit bigger than the circle because the heat will make the laminate shrink a tad bit.
I have not washed it yet. I am mostly using it for decoration.
@@LeslieIrene thanks for answering I'm definitely going to try it
This turned out quite nice! I love it!❤️
Thank you! I love how it turned out. I think it is so cool.

Thank you!
This is great! Did you ever do the one with white?
I tried the white vinyl and failed. I might try again sometime.
Thank you for this video! You are the best
I am glad that you enjoyed it. I hope it was helpful.
Can you use the cutting board afterwards
Yes you definitely can use it after you sub On it since you are using the side that you didn’t sub on.
Was the first pressing of the laminate also done at 385 for 10 seconds?
Yes it was. I know some people use lower heat to press the laminate but I think it doesn’t matter
You did an awesome job! May I asked if used as cutting board how does the laminate hold up to hand washing or do you just use it as decorative.?
I haven’t tried washing it but I think it would be fine. It’ll probably be similar to vinyl. It should be put in the dishwasher or soaked in water. Other than that I think it should hold up.

I have not, but I am sure it would work great.

Love how this is done, great tutorial! Could I put a cork on back then put the knobs back or would it not show correctly? I'm new to sublimation
Yes you definitely could put a cork on the back for sure.

Can you get white laminate?
No but you can use white vinyl and sub on that.
but then you would need to laminate on the vinyl first?
I have read that using the white vinyl the sublimation fades after a bit. Have you found that true with the laminating sheet?
Ive used this method several times and it works and holds up. i also add a cork backing.
Could I do this with the easy press?
Yes, absolutely
can this go in the dishwasher ?
I would say no because the heat might affect the laminate. I would say, just hand wash.
If I don't have this press.than how to do
What happened with the metal heart one you had up? It says it's private now 😢
Sorry. That wasn’t meant to go up til Friday. I didn’t realize that I accidentally scheduled it for the same time as another video.
You know you have a true follower when they catch those before you can take them down. :)
What can you use beside Teflon?
For sublimation I use butcher paper, Kraft paper, or parchment paper
It beautiful 😍 hope we can do if you tell how 🤔
Shiny side up?

What type of ink was used to print? Was it printed with a inkjet printer?
I used sublimation ink with a sublimation printer and paper.
@@LeslieIrene thank you.
Have you tried sublimating on glass bowls and glasses?
Nope. I definitely want to try that
nice
Thank you!
Are they water proof ???
Yes they are water proof. The design will be on the bottom, so it wouldn't touch water too often. I would say, just don't put it in a dishwasher
Wuaooo very nice
Thank you!
Hi what if the laminate not adhering
Maybe not enough heat or pressure. It should adhere just fine.
@@LeslieIrene is there a specific type laminating sheet brand for this ?
I want to join your group but not seeing your link to it
Sorry, what group are you talking about?
@@LeslieIrene your group sis!
I don’t have a group! Maybe I should start a fb group though.

What kind of paper you print the picture on
I printed on a sub sublimation paper.
What if image has words
You can definitely use words.
I tried this for the first time. Some of the design was a little faded. :(
Really? What time and temperature did you press for?
I tried it and it came out with bubbles all over 😢😢
So you put the picture on regular vinyl? This is so confusing. Thank you for sharing this video.
I sublimated the picture onto a laminate sheet. You can also put white permanent vinyl on the glass and then sublimate onto that.
@@LeslieIrene I had to watch the video again and I get it now. You did a great job. I will definitely try this
the laminating pouches i have do NOT WORK
What kind of laminating pouches do you have? Is it the thermal ones?
